JBL Wave Buds

Purchased June 18 2026 Good guys Mackay for $79. Overall a really pathetic attempt.Definitely the worst JBL product I have purchased to date. On reflection I should have outlayed at least $120 more and received a much better pair of audio buds The included instructions were written in micro print so a 74 year old pensioner could NOT read them effectively. Secondly the said instructions DID NOT contain directions to remove the insulating seals. On a black earbud the seals are very difficult to see and look like they are part of the permanent set up. When I worked this out the unit charged quickly and I was able to pair them easily. When I inserted them into my ears they fell out, say 20 times in the first hour.A handy hint for you is to not wear them sitting on the toilet as a fall out disaster could result.
True story-I resorted to using strips of sticky tape to tape them to my ears. My intention was to listen to music and audiobooks prior to sleep. The sound is a bit tinny, the volume is too loud ( for audiobooks and music) and the range less the 15 feet into the next room.
Follow-up · Noise cancellation is OK. I felt the battery life was good. They remained charged after a few days of not been used as I don't use them often as they are so uncomfortable.Perhaps my ear anatomy is different to that of most people. I own a another pair of dedicated sleep buds for which I paid in the mid $200s and remain in my ears all night.
Purchased in at The Good Guys for $79.
Attn Steve Little. Each bud was in its correct ear .Pressing them firmly in to stop them falling out was very uncomfortable Maybe my ears are smaller than average.
Total sh#t! DO NOT BUY! They are nowhere near loud enough. 2 weeks after purchase left bud turned off and am unable to turn it back on. The case is just ridiculous...has no lid and they constantly fall out in your pocket and twice now one has fallen out from just carrying them from one end of the house to the other. So, unless you want a life with more frustration and useless trash tech......then give then piece of yak buds a miss.
Purchased at JB Hi-Fi for $70.
First time user of bluetooth ear buds & all I can say is they are pretty poor for listening to music, tried the app with all eq settings still sounds like marbles in a can. Waste of money stick to good quality wired cans like Superlux HD681 Studio Monitoring Headphones for apprx same price & thank me later.
Purchased in at Harvey Norman for $48.
I purchased the JBL ear buds in May, 3 months later the left ear bud is not working. The response from the brand was poor and I was told to clean the point and go back to the store. When I purchased the store advised all issues were to be reviewed to the manufacturer. Very disappointing
Purchased in for $99.
Excellent value buds, great sound and battery life – I bought these JBL wave buds to use as a second pair, normally I use Samsung buds. The JBL wave buds RRP is about 1/3 that of the Samsung so I thought I would give them a go. Sound quality is surprisingly good. Treble is clear and goes quite high in the range without sounding muddy or faked. Midrange is also very good. Bass is excellent too, as promised on the pack, although I would not say it is "deep bass" it is pretty good. There is a free control app that is very easy to set up and use. It doesn't recognise this model fully (it s a new model) but works perfectly for operation. Still unable to register the warranty on-line, I cannot get the JBL website to recognise the S/N for some reason. The wave buds have active noise cancelling which is right up there with others, and has the regular talk-through functions as well. The wave buds also have multi-connect but I am still figuring that out. Battery life promises to be market leading at up to 8h per recharge, also with fast charge. So far they are living up to that promise. JBL have done a good job balancing functionality with battery life. They come with a USB-C charge cable, but it is literally 6 inches long. Ear comfort is also very good, with 3x different rubber cone mounts to choose from. Mine are black in colour, I just didn't want mint green or white, so black is fine. On the downside, there are some minor glitches with using the App - sound stops temporarily when you change anything. Biggest issue, for some reason the case has no lid? I wouldn't want to take these anywhere outside the home for fear the buds may fall out of the case. I think they are meant to lock in to the case somewhat, but it seems that could easily fall out. It also a bit easy to mix up the left and right buds, so you might not get them into the case properly, resulting in no charging. I have read some reviews saying the wave buds "sound very thin or tinny". This is no doubt because people have them mixed up L-R so there is a bad fit into the ear. And/or people don't put them fully into the ear. As a retired audio engineer believe me that when used properly, THEY SOUND GREAT. They sound as good as buds that cost 3-4 times as much and have better battery life! All up good job JBL. Designed to a budget with great sound and leading battery life.
