Very disappointing product – We bought a brand new hottap shower from BURNSCO NZ. We also bought a brand new 12v battery as power supply and built a large well ventilated cubicle. The provided pump was connected to a large water tank built especially. The water heater does not have a fixation system to put it on a wall, so we hanged it. This shower would be great if you are… Read more
satisfied with a 30 second shower. After that it systematically turns off. We tried all the various settings (water and temperature) and it made NO difference. We also found no blockages in the water intake... we went online and tried all the troubleshooting solutions, it also made no difference.
Great products backed by exemplary customer service – After owning a HOTTAP v2 for 4+ trouble-free years of convenient, luxurious hot water while remote touring, we decided to purchase a HOTTUB for home. We used it several times a week for about 4 months before noticing the HOTTAP pump housing had warped but was still working. I emailed Joolca support (on a public holiday, no less!) and had a… Read more
response from a real person within hours. I responded very honestly, summarizing our typical use of the HOTTAP, and that same day, Joolca support advised they would replace our pump completely free of charge. Easily some of the best service I've ever experienced.
Designing practical, innovative products win customers. Excellent customer service ensures you keep them. Thanks Joolca!
Best off grid instant hot water – Excellent product and even better after sales support. We are off grid and building and Joolca is our daily shower. Had an issue with the pump which was replaced even though it was just out of warranty. Amazing to have 24/7 customer support.
Works great – Purchased from Road Tech Marine. Previously had a different brand that was a nightmare. Hottap V2 is very good and actually does what it claims and what you would expect. Very happy, thank you. Show details
Great Set-up – Great setup being able to adjust both water pressure and temperature I can fine tune the shower for showering or crank up the temperature for the dishes. Set up was easy with the click & connet fittings. The only thing it's missing is a soft cover to protect it between uses. Show details · 1
Oh my god! I am so happy! – I bloody LOVE my Hot Tap! When I first tried it out, I turned it up to its hottest because I had read a review that said they don’t get very hot……what a load of rubbish! It was too hot! I had to turn it down so I didn’t cook myself. It is an awesome product. I could not be happier. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Show details · 1
Let down twice on camp – Lots leeks with cheap connectors, 1st pump stopped and was great to be replaced but then 2nd one stopped also after little use and wouldn’t replace that, had to buy new however brought same pump elsewhere for 5th Joolca price. Main issue is the system is unreliable and when camping and it breaks down your out of running water for the rest of your camp

Temp bathroom – The whole system works very well, with the hotwater being as close to instant as one could ask for, very happy with it, but be prepared to wait for it to turn up, nearly 2 months for us. Mine is hooked up to our mains pressure at home as a temp shower while our bathroom is being renovated. We set it up inside a 3m x3m gazebo, on concrete under a roofed area. Show details
A fart will blow it out – We bought this unit late last year with hopes of it being decent, premium price for a premium brand right? Wrong. We've had no end of trouble. The unit will light and at times stay on for up to a few minutes. Sometimes it only stays lit for 15-20 seconds. Definitely worse in any wind over 2km/h (which is really nothing). It's not hitting the temp… Read more
sensor threshold as usually it cuts out at 38-40c, but sometimes cooler than that.
We have tried; - Multiple gas bottles - Mains pressure water and two different 12v pumps - two joolca supplied gas regulators and hoses - one my own supplied regulator - multiple sets of batteries - foil tape around the sides - moving the flame sensor (per joolca instructions)
We sent the unit back a few months ago. They sent it back stating no fault found, although they admitted to testing it indoors. I reinstalled the unit and have all the same issues, with the addition of them having left the display screen unplugged.
Customer service just seems to go in circles.
I've considered building a case for it but it is neither convenient and due to space limitations potentially not doable. Irrespective I shouldn't have to do it, you can breathe on it and it will go out.
I'm sick of this and wish I'd never bought it or the mount for it.

NOT HAPPY JAN ! – I have to say after persevering with this system in my tiny home it is probably the worst and most unreliable piece of equipment i've ever had. I have had leaking tap switches which i have fixed, the water temperature is not hot enough unless the water flow is reduced to a trickle on the lowest setting and the ignition fails to fire up more often… Read more
than not. A new a pressure control valve was installed prior to use , renewed the batteries for ignition many times and have replaced full gas bottles. My enquiries and contacts with this company have also been very poor. I had great expectations of this system as it is part of my business but would not recommend this product to anyone.

AWFUL AND UNPREDICTABLE – We have been trying to use this Joolca for 12 months now, best i can get it is 20 degrees unless i turn the water right down to a dribble. I have tried to call Joolca IMPOSSIBLE they don't exist in Australia any more. I had to email them and got a response from someone in Malaysia who gave me a generic answer. The hot tap is nothing but a waste of money, My wife bought this for me for my birthday i am 100% disappointed. Show details

Should have bought one sooner – After using our joolca hot water unit for a week we realised we should have bought one of these years ago for the farm. Has made mixing calf milk so much easier. We also use it to wash the pony as well!
Great Hot Water System – The Joolca HOTTAP is straight forward and easy to use as well as being reliable. It is connected to a small cabin hot water system and produces a very nice consistent hot shower. Show details · 1
Good quality but slightly disappointing performance – My first impression of the Joolca unit itself is that it's clearly higher build quality than your standard $200 Camplux/Gasland unit. Accessories in particular are much better quality, which I guess is reflected by the price. The design and component layout of this Joolca unit differ slightly in that it's apparent this is a revision on your basic… Read more
camping water heater. It appears to be a more thoroughly thought-out design with potentially higher-grade components.
One of the more notable design aspects that I would argue is an improvement is the omission of a power switch which you typically find mounted on the bottom of the unit with no protection from water damage. This was always a problem on other units as they would inevitably leak and seize up the switch due to corrosion. One other perceived benefit is that the unit does not have an auxiliary burner. So from a reliability standpoint, we have eliminated two potential points of failure.
The unit was quick and easy to assemble. Fittings seem capable. No leaks at moderate pressure. Not willing to test beyond that as my needs don't justify it. That and I think it's sensible to assume these units aren't industrial strength and shouldn't be treated as such.
My only disappointment so far is the heat output. I am a little disheartened that this Joolca unit does not compete with the output of units at the $200 price point, at least not one's I have experience with. I can only speculate that either the burner is slightly too small or the gas flow has been excessively governed. Either way, I am not able to get the same flow/temp ratio as I could with my cheaper unit.
Contrary to what many of these garbage shill reviews on youtube say, your optimal shower temperature is approximately 42c-44c This is likely what 99% of people experience when they take a shower at home. While the unit is capable of reaching these temps, it can only do so at a very restrictive water flow, more so than I have found on units half the price.
In my opinion, the heating performance isn't quite there for a unit at this price point. I wouldn't say it's bad, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't expecting more from this unit. It works pretty well provided you are working with a water source of around 20c, though my primary concern is that this unit will not fair well during the winter.
For anyone interested in some extrapolated figures, if you are aiming for temperatures around 42c with a source of 20c the water flow has to be dialed back to 4-5 bars on the dial, which I'd estimate to be about 1/2 the pressure of your typical household shower. If you live in an area with close to 0c water source it's going to be a very weak shower indeed.
One other minor gripe is that while the fit and finish of the unit is actually quite good, there are some hit and miss areas like flimsy plastic film being used for the burner window on the face of the unit. That seemed wildly out of place to me. Though quite possibly largely inconsequential. Additionally, I would have also liked to have seen a fluted gas escape which would give us the option of routing the units exhaust.
One possible redeeming factor that's yet to be seen is how well the unit holds up over time. I actually have pretty high hopes that this unit will outlast other units I have owned, simply due to my perception of the units build quality.
I don't personally believe in the 5 star review metric. So If I had to rate the product and the customer service I'd give 65/100 and 95/100 respectively. Hope this helps some prospective customers.
extremely poor customer service – Worst attitude and customer service l have ever experienced, very slow delivery even after paying extra for express post (rip off) not point having a half decent product and the worst customer service makes that product crap. Show details

After 300 uses - it works perfectly – Used the Joolca hottap & double tent for our primary shower during house renovation. QLD: 3 months for a family of 5, something over 300 uses. After 3 months of permanent use I just packed it all down, took 10mins Apart from a kettle this has been our primary hot water and cleaning for the whole family + dog. Across the period we used roughly 2x… Read more · 1
8.5kg of gas, it runs pretty lean - kids were not messing around and like to hang out in there during winter weeks to get toasty. The heater did not miss a beat, always fired up - easy to set up and pack down. Nothing felt like it had really worn badly or degraded during the time it was set up. The tent got a hole in one corner - but has been through a bunch of storms - so all fair. Pretty much all good and everything worked as needed. My only mention of negative would be that the heating unit will blow out during use if not protected from wind - in winter this can lead to a lot of moaning form the wet kid mid shower, so wear ear plugs as you put up a bit of shielding and then just turn it back on as normal.

Perfect Reliable Camp Shower! – I absolutely love my Joolca Hottap. Its a well built quality product that works well. As the saying goes "You get what you pay for" I look forward to using it, when i hit the road!
Great product. Even better after sales service – So I bought my Joolca directly from the Joolca website and after the first use found the water on / off switch wouldn't turn off properly (it would allow some water to pass through in the off position) after a 30 second message via the contact us section of the website Joolca had a replacement on the way. Best customer after sales service I have ever had via any company. I fully recommend Joolca products to anyone interested. Show details

Not fit for purpose – This unit does not function as advertised. The spec states that it should achieve 30 degrees C rise from input when Gas is set to High and water rate is set to Low. My unit, which I tested today does not conform to this standard. I was lucky to get a 20 degree rise from a 23 degree input. Drop the input temp like i would expect when camping to… Read more
about 10 to 15 degrees in winter and I will be struggling to achieve 35 degrees C. The trouble shooting suggests re-circulating the water to get the input temperature hotter??? How is this supposed to occur when it does not come with a pump. I have purchased this unit on basis that I have access to pressurised water supply where I go. Customer service is an absolute Joke.... Phone customer service has been discontinued, automated replies to emails, no one attending to messenger. This company is an absolute Joke avoid like the plague.

Product needs to be left on the kerbside for collection – This product is highly temperamental, causing troubleshooting in various components/connections.
