Juki TL2010Q

The one flaw is too big to forgive – I love everything about my JukiTL2010q but for 2 things. Two things that destroy my sewing enjoyment 1. Difficulty inserting the bobbin is annoyingly true, but it’s not a deal breaker. I could live with it if it wasn’t for problem number two! 2. The placement of the knee lift lever is horrible. Every time I use my machine (daily) I repeatedly curse the position of the knee lift lever. The knee lift lever comes out approximately in the centre of the machine bed. It means I’m squashed to the left half of the machine. And it and my chair keep interfering with each other. The placement of the knee lift lever is so seriously ridiculous and unendurable I find it puzzling that other owners aren’t mentioning it. Why not? What do they know that I don’t about using applying and using the knee lift lever and being comfortably seated. I’m so aggravated by the position of the knee left lever and how it imposes on my sewing enjoyment, I am considering trading the JukiTL2010q in on another more ergonomic sewing machine
If you use this machine and have found the knee lift lever position comfortable please share your trick/tip with me Thanks

Second best domestic machine ever – I use this machine for clothing, dog collars and bag making. The stitching is beautiful (something us old timers look for) and it can handle so many thicknesses of fabric with the greatest of ease, it's an absolute work horse. It came with a few bobbins, extra feet, most of which I'll use - two are for quilting, which isn't for me, but this machine has a great reputation for quilting. It's so solid with an aluminium shell so if you're sewing at top speed of 1500 stiches per minute, there is no vibrating or jumping, unlike most plastic sewing machines on the market these days. It's semi industiral, no nonsense, no fancy stitches, just a good, dependable solid machine. Sadly it's at least double the price in Australia than the US but still worth every cent I paid.

Absolutely fantastic machine – This is a straight stitch only machine. 1500 spm, but it does have speed control. Great throat space and easy access to the needle bar to change feet. I sew apparel, quilting and home Furnishing with no issues on this machine. This machine sews everything for me from fine fabric to heavy layers. I have not sewn leather on it. But I have sewn multiple layers of vinyl, material, interfacing. Not a problem. The machine comes with a variety of feet which is excellent value.
Caution: remember to oil this machine often, daily if using daily. The foot control has the thread cutter on it also so can be issue to get used to it. Use the screw driver to tighten feet, this machine goes fast and so you don’t need vibration loosening them.
Only negative in my mind is screwing on the even feed foot (walking foot). This can be fiddly I feel.
My only regret is not having bought this machine earlier.

We will get along perfectly! – After having owned a number of Domestic Sewing Machines, most of which do not last due to the type of products I make; mainly handbags. I opted to purchase the Juki TL-2010Q. It arrived last Friday, so over the weekend I was able to set it up and try it out, with different kinds of fabrics, Vinyl and Leather. What can I say other than it is great. I tested out with around 12 layers of woven cotton, there is no chance that I would ever need to push this through a machine, I was doing it as a test.
OK I had to take is slow, but seriously, it went through no dramas!! I am impressed.
It comes with an array of different feet attachments, most, I will probably not use; as essentially this machine is designed for Quilting. So you have your free-motion open and closed toe feet. It is only a Straight Stitch Machine, but that's all I ever use.
It is good quality metal machine. The extended table is plastic, again, I probably won't use this.
The only thing I have come across at the present which I think they could improve on is the lighting, it is really dim and pretty poor. I have purchased a LED strip light for $20 from Bunnings which I have stuck to the machine and that gives me some good light now.
In Summary:
PROS:
- Fast Straight Stitch
- Mechanical - non computerised
- Metal construction
CONS:
- Poor Lighting
- Plastic Extended Table
- Expensive (well, here in Australia)

Fantastic – Wow, why did I wait so long to get one of these? Sews everything with ease and fast. The unusual threading, thread cutter and bobbin seating take a little practice but once used to it you're away at full speed. Can't recommend it highly enough.
