ALDI Just Organic Fairtrade

Worst coffee ever! – Love most Aldi and most of their products. However their organic Fairtrade coffee is awful. Super weak and taste like reused coffee grounds. Yuck! I like organic and Fairtrade products, but this is a no go! Show details
Milk is off – I have been buying just organic milk from Aldi for a year. About a month ago I realised all my long life milk were off with clear water and lots of lumps. Aldi refunded for all 7 pack. Today I open another one and same thing. Something is not right with these milk. Packaging is good and expiry is 3/10/2020 another month away. I don't think I be buying these any more Show details
Over salted – Just tried the Brie found that it was extra salty when eaten by it's self we will have to use it for cooking.
Ticks all the boxes – It is inexpensive, fair trade, organic, and from PNG so reasonably local. And it tastes good. Very good. Highly recommended. Show reply
Just As Good As The Most Expensive – I have been using this coffee in 2 different machines, the first in my second Sunbeam, and now a Breville Duo Temp Pro. So, this has been the only coffee I have been buying for about a year. When I bought my first coffee machine, a Sunbeam Piccolo, about 3 years ago, I tried just about every brand of pre-ground coffee, available in Coles. Brands… Read more · 1
that Aldi does not sell.
I came to the conclusion that every brand tasted pretty much the same, regardless of price. I never did come to a conclusion as to whether that was because of my sense of taste, or that the entry level machine was making everything taste similar. But I recall that I never had any brand that was bitter.
I am wondering whether those experiencing bitter coffee, is because your machines are burning it.To prevent this, the Breville Duo Temp Pro, stops pouring, after about 40 seconds.
The taste of "Just Organic" has been consistent in both my last Sunbeam, and the Breville I replaced it with, after it's demise. I agree it has a taste equal to any "brand" product I tried, or any beans I bought and ground, myself. And it is true, there is no bitterness. And as others state, there is no after taste.
I like to make Cappuccinos. After pouring the coffee, I sprinkle some some "Vittoria Chocochino Original" (Not the Dark) on top of the Crema, and then, - on top of the milk froth at the end. Try it!
There is no point in paying more than the $4.69 for "Just Organic", when it is just as good as "brand" coffee at nearly twice the price.
"Just Organisc" was not discontinued, it may have been out of stock. Just look for bright green bags in the coffee aisle at Aldi. I buy 3 packs at a time, because of the moderate price, and I would hate to run out.
Great coffee but major flaw. (Also it's not discontinued it just has different packaging now) – As someone who loves drinking coffee but is not a full on coffee aficionado (floral or fruity notes in coffee? I don't care about that kind of stuff!), I can safely say that this coffee tastes amazing for the price. It's only something like $4.69 a bag! I can literally buy 2 of these for less than the price of one 250g bag from Jasper's -- amazing… Read more
value!
There's only one major issue though; the grind is too fine. I'm using a Sunbeam EM3800 at home, and both times I've used this coffee it spurts out from the group head over the group handle. I tamped it down using approximately the same amount of force I always use, to the same level in the basket, and both times it broke the seal and spurted over.
I thought the issue was with my machine -- maybe the rubber seal was wearing out or something -- but today I mixed some of this coffee with some I had from Jasper's (which has a coarser grind by looking at it) at about a 50-50 ratio and voila, the coffee extracted without spurting everywhere! So I can safely say that the grind was too fine in the bag I bought, I'm unsure if all the bags would have exactly the same grind but I think it would be safe to assume so. Such a shame as it's really good coffee for the price.
I'm not sure how I can overcome this issue, possibly packing it down with much less force (but then my puck would be a watery mess) or I might just mix the bag I have with the bag from Jasper's.
FINALLY! A GREAT COFFEE – It says it is discontinued? But I bought it yesterday? And it is no doubt the best coffee I have ever bought!! Many years ago I went to USA every year and became addicted to their mild non bitter drip machine coffee. Everything I tried here was just bitter, horrible stuff. I tried every machine and every blend...yuck!! Some months ago, shopping… Read more
at Aldi, I purchased a bag of this...and OH!!! Heaven!! Non Bitter, mild, just great.
And then my Breville drip machine died, just over the warranty period! A pity because I liked this machine, cheap, and each morning filled the kitchen with a great aroma. But to last 12+ months...hmmm
So I dragged out my wife's 1 cup french plunger and again a miracle! It made just the perfect coffee! My wife loves strong, I like mild. So each morning she loves her coffee and each morning...me too!! So forget all the machines, of which I have an expensive collection. Go get yourself a French press coffee thing and definitely a bag of Aldi's Organic Fairtrade Ground Coffee. If you don't like this combination...try Tea
Excellent coffee beans – I have been using these coffee beans for the last couple of months, and for the price, around $4.69 I must say that they are really good. Nice and smooth, no bitter after taste, just good coffee. And not only are they organic they are fair trade to boot. everybody wins even the planet. :) Edit: These now appear to have been discontinued:(
good price, good value – agree the reviewers as above. good value, and no weird aftertaste. very much my fussy aand fot my budget,European style.
Disappointing – I used to use this in my old espresso machine (a Sunbeam) and it was one of the nicest, but when I tried it recently with my updated machine - which makes far superior coffee - this blend was bitter and horrible, so bad that I took it back to Aldi for a refund. Perhaps it was a case of a bad batch, different machine or maybe even a different blend… Read more
since the last time, but really really disappointing, despite several attempts to drink it. Price extremely bitter and badtasting
Excellent – An excellent, premium product at a true value for moeny price. Try it at least once and see what you think. You'll sae a fortune and enjoy a great coffee. This is simply the best Euroepan style ground organic coffee ever and the prcie is so low it competes with Vittoria, Lavazza and Harris 1Kg bags on sale. I used to wait until the big brands were… Read more · 1
on special for $20-25 a kilo and now I don't need to. At $7.99 per 250 grams with a strogner richer flavour Aldi's coffee is far better value. Partly because this is Organic whereas at a slightly cheaper on speical price the other's aren't. It also takes less of this coffee to make a pot of really strong Italian style espresso. It would be good if it came in recycleable packaging. Also I would like 500 gram and 1kg options but they aren't available.
Excellent – I really like this brand of coffee and I've been a self-confessed bean snob in the past. For the price and quality you can't go wrong. Not to mention the fact that it is brilliant they are fairtrade beans. The price! For the price I was expecting them to be rubbish especially as they claim to be organic AND fairtrade (which usually attracts a much… Read more
higher price) but it is a really good coffee! It's full bodied without having bitter undertones and I think I have just found my new favourite Nothing so far. Have only just started using this brand.
If anything, they encourage me to drink two cups of coffee in the morning now when I only used to have one.
Surprisingly good for the price – Tried the other ALDI coffee varieties and they were below average (very little crema and stale/bitter aftertaste) for use in boiler type (Nemox) and thermoblock (breville 800espresso) machines. However this one was surprisingly good and compares well with other quality Medium blends. Good crema and after-taste. I would buy again inexpensive, good full bodied flavour with no bitter after-taste
