Bought at Good Guys for $47. Noted that this toaster is also sold under different brands - they look similar & have the same button layout. Very poor - it will either under-toast or burn, the browning control knob is quite loose. Spring to eject… Read more

toast is too strong, almost chucking it out onto the floor. The crumb tray is too small & crumbs get caught in the bottom of the slots - no wonder they warn that the toaster may catch fire.

Follow-up  · You need a medium-size hobby paint-brush to reach down past the wire guides to the bottom of the slots to clean out the crumb-dust that settles there - very difficult & annoying - FIRE HAZZARD !

Uneven and requires some vigilance – I bought this toaster as it was one recommended by Choice magazine in 2024 (76% ranking), and it was not too expensive at $40. Choice did note that it was not great when toasting one slice of bread - that is definitely true. It toasts single slices unevenly, and tends to overdo the edges, even when turned to a low setting. It ejects a single piece… Read more

of toast with such force that it lands on the floor sometimes. I have to stand by to catch! It is much better with 2 slices, but still overdoes the edges, and to get the best result you have to set the toaster low and then turn the bread over after the first ejection. Beware toasting fruit bread- very easily burnt. Basically, the toaster requires your vigilance.

We laugh about it's quirkiness in our household, but the quality is much lower than my previous one, which lasted for years and which was the same price range. Maybe they are all this poorer standard now unless you pay a lot? How hard is it to make a toaster that toasts evenly?

Good solid toaster, does what it's meant to – This is a no-fuss solid toaster. It does what it's meant to, toasts bread evenly at a range of settings. Even bread from the freezer toasts evenly after one go. I tend to use sourdough bread and it's always done perfectly. Show details

Poor Performer – The first one I bought (from the Good Guys) I took back the following day as it wouldn’t operate properly; the cradle wouldn’t engage and stay down to toast the bread. The replacement is just as bad, it burns one side of the bread and hardly toasts the other side. In this regard, I agree with all the other reviews that state the toaster does not toast evenly on both sides of the bread. See video. Show details

Bad browning control – I bought a Kambrook Toaster KTA120 model for $21.75. Compared to previous toasters that I bought for $10, I am surprised that the browning control is so bad. For example, if I toast one slice of Raisin bread (at the room temperature) and set the browning control at the minimum range of 1, the bread will come out dark brown. If I toast 2 slices of… Read more

normal bread, I have to set at 1.5. Setting at 2 will give us black brown breads. Ironically, the manual suggests us to set at '3' for the first use. I suspect that the generating heat is too strong. One possibility is that the Kambrook uses the same heating element for countries where the voltage is around 110 V. I hope that Kambrook will re-design the toaster and do some homework before selling it to the public.

An excellent toaster for just $29 !!! – This toaster has shown itself to consistently toast bread evenly on both sides, in both toaster slots. With cancel/reheat/defrost buttons, and a TWO YEAR REPLACEMENT WARRANTY (as per its box, not the website), it was a steal at just $29 ! Why would you bother buying a toaster five to ten times this price ? After all, all a toaster does is cook… Read more

bread. Very highly recommended !

UPDATE 2/24: it is with great sorrow I advise that after 2½ years of faithful service, KTA120 passed away yesterday, She will be missed :-(

Above KTA120 was replaced with a new KTA120, (HN have increased the price by $10 to $39), most likely the first one's great great " 50 grandson. Welcome to yout new home, Kambrook grandson;-)

It toasts bread - looks ok – We have the red model which looks quite sleek and relatively minimalist. We use this to toast a variety of breads (multigrain, wholemeal, bagels) and it does a good job of toasting things evenly. The knob adjusting the toast seems to do its job although it was some simple trial and error to figure out which setting was required for which type of… Read more

bread.

It rarely burns the bread and is generally consistent with its toast.

It has a good ‘lift’ function to help remove the toast. The crumb tray is handy but there still seems to be an infinite amount of crumbs stuck inside.

Good reliable toaster.

Uneven toasting! – Doesn’t do what a basic toaster should do and that is toast evenly. Surely that’s not much to ask. Reasonably product in build and well priced at $30 Woolworths. Our Breville toaster of 15 years has begun to toast unevenly- one side hardly toasted. Was hoping for a simple reliable toaster. This is the second toaster I have returned for uneven toasting-the other one was a Sunbeam. Still searching for the ‘apple’ NOT the lemon! Show details

Stylish but with Design Flaws – I bought this toaster mainly on account of the sleek, modern design, and in this respect it hasn’t disappointed. It fits conveniently into a little corner in my kitchen, without taking up too much space. It looks neat and stylish, alongside a similar white coloured Tiffany kettle. Overall, it works well and does the job of toasting bread, but it… Read more

does have a few design flaws:

Firstly, the springs have been set too tightly, so that when you use the self-eject button - the one labelled “Cancel” on the far left - (and which I always use as I don’t trust the automated ejector to do the job properly without burning the toast) the toast pops right out of the toaster and does a little somersault, before landing on the counter. I find that, to prevent this, I have to put my hand over it, to stop its suicidal leap.

Secondly, it hasn’t been properly weighted down, which means that often, when I put the toast in and depress the “carriage control lever” to start the process, the back of the toaster will sometimes lift off the counter and come down again with a thud.

The third flaw, and in fairness to Kambrook, this seems to be a flaw with all the toasters I’ve ever owned, is that there’s no easy way to neatly tuck the cord underneath to keep it out of sight, when it’s not in use. There are some clips and hooks for this purpose but the cord is too chunky and thick to allow it to thread properly all the way. The result is that part of the cord is neatly tucked away underneath, the rest is exposed.

I bought the toaster from Big W and paid $29 for it, which I thought was a fair price.

toaster does not perform as expected – bought the toaster from Kmart, OK it was about $30 but it toasts one side light and other side dark. The browning control is erratic. Set it on 3 and if you change it to 4 and then back to 3 it burns the toast. Kambrook was once a reputable name but now they are producing rubbish. Sorry Kambrook but its the truth. Its a shame as toasting is the only issue. Show details

It’s ok – First couple of times it seemed fine but now is toasting the bread a little unevenly. Not expensive and do like the extra width to toast thicker slices or crumpets. Easy to clean. Show details

Great value for the price – We have used this toaster almost daily for over a year and are very happy with it. Its price was the main reason for buying and it is certainly better than many other more expensive ones. The defrost button takes care of frozen bread and it toasts crumpets equally as well on the highest setting. It is compact and is not out of place sitting on our modern kitchen bench. Would recommend highly. Show details

Don't buy this model – We have had this toaster some eight months. The good things about it are that it is cheap, and also reliable in the sense that it always 'works'. From there things go downhill. My habit is to toast one piece of raisin bread every morning. Even the lowest setting results in burnt toast. I tried a replacement toaster (same model) with the same… Read more

result. So now I make toast using my watch to time it! Further, the toaster browns the bread more on one side than the other. Finally, even on one side, the browning is not even: dark at the top and pale at the bottom. Such simple things, you would think would have been picked up in quality control. I wouldn't recommend this model.

Good little toaster – I bought this toaster back in June 2017. Compact and convenient. I use it everyday. The only problem I found that if I only wanted to toast one toast, one of the side will get more heat than the other side. So it may turn out a bit overheat or black. So I need to turn down if only wants to toast one.  Show details

I would not recommend this toaster – I recently bought a KTA120 Toaster at Big W. It was similar looking to my previous 2 slice Sunbeam Toaster which I used for more than 15 years. Alas, it quickly became clear that there was no comparison in performance between the two. In order not get an even 'toast' (in opposite to a burnt toast) it is necessary to turn it down almost to the… Read more

minimum and even then the result is touch and go. I would not recommend this toaster - although it is reasonably cheap - to anyone.

Ok toaster for thick slices – This toaster is good for thick slices of bread, just make sure to turn the settings down or it will burn. For regular slices, it cooks very uneven and leaves one side almost not done (which can be a good thing sometimes). It is also difficult to clean, and the resulting crumbs tend to burn.  Show details

Can't expect much – This toaster was $30, so I wasn't expecting it to be perfect. I have it set always between 1-2, or it burns your toast. It always overcooks on one side so it's pretty uneven. The only redeeming quality about it is that it's pretty fast and it was cheap. Probably should have gone to Kmart instead.  Show details

Uneven toasting – Bought this toaster with Fly Buys. Set on 3 it burns one side and lightly browns the other. This happens on both sides. Kambrook is replacing it but Noel Leeming has no stock and has 4 on order. Hardly suggests ti is a good seller.
