Excellent value for money – Like other users giving highly positive ratings, it took a while to "dial in" the optimum browning setting, but this machine seems to manage to get the same amount of brownness on the one setting for all types of bread, fresh or frozen - c. 1.7 on the dial in my case. It takes no longer to cook frozen bread than fresh, so it must have some smart… Read more
sensors (hand-me-down from the Breville parent product?).
A very different device from the conventional electronic toaster of yore, but once you have it dialled in, it's great, and well worth the effort for the price.
Garbage. Don’t waste your money – If you want your bread charred on one side and raw on the other, then this is the toaster for you. I’ve had the same experience with two of these toasters now. Looking at the other reviews for this toaster on here Kambrook aren’t too worried about the garbage disguised as products they are producing. Don’t waste your time and money on this one. Go straight past it for another brand. Highly don’t recommend. Show details
Poor quality- broke in 6 weeks – Wouldn’t work in first day of purchase- stuck cancel button- which we fixed ourselves. Uneven browning for the 6 weeks it did work. . Then the lifter mechanism has jammed a few times and is now broken - 6 weeks of light use only! I’m disgusted. Show details
8 months in still working well – We have had this toaster since January so about 8 months now. Still going strong however it’s not perfectly balanced comparing both sides of toast. Cost $39 at Big W which was much cheaper than a Breville even though they’re made by the same company (and look similar) Hopefully this stands the test of time. Show details
Perfect for Cremation at a Funeral Home – Replacing another brand of Toaster after 3 years of solid use. Needed something quick so I ordered this for $39. What a waste of money this turned out to be. Does not matter what Bread put in, it comes out Burnt, at least on one side. I tried several settings with the timer and still, Burnt. Very poor design. I'm taking this back to Big W to get a refund or exchange for another brand. Show details
Total dud – This toaster lasted less than 2 weeks. It toasted unevenly while it was working. But the one we bought had a fault and shorted out the powerpoints every time we used it. One star is generous. Don’t waste your money.
World's second best toaster - the best? Every other toaster – This machine is pure junk If you only toast standard square white sliced bread and you're happy to take pot luck on the output, then this is the machine for you. We got it on special but honestly it's not worth a cracker. It doesn't pop up far enough = burnt fingers fishing out the toast One side cooked one side not No consistency in the setting… Read more
or the time The bread carry binds There is not one good thing I can find about this piece of junk. Grab a fork, pop your bread on it and set fire to the box ... at least you'll get one piece of toast done properly
Don't waste your hard earned money – Literally bought kambrook 4 slice toaster (the long white one) Took it out of box. Popped in bread. Out comes uneven, COLD toast. But it's burnt????? How are you burnt and cold? Spewing I wasted a perfectly good morning and perfectly good money. Save up and buy something worth the value. What a deadset joke. Show details
Smoke alarm heaven – It's not like a toaster is new technology but Kambrook have somehow managed to totally stuff up with this one. Charcoal city, frustrating to use. Looks like a toaster but first batch comes out undercooked and after that it just burns everything. Show details
Worst toaster I’ve ever owned – Always toasts one side considerably more than the other, requiring the user to rotate the bread mid-cycle. The setting is horrendously inconsistant, ranging from “burnt” to “Oh my god, my house is on fire!” And if you use it immediately after toasting another batch, it WILL burn the toast to a crisp regardless of how low the setting. I don’t know how it can be this bad in this age of technology. Worst toaster I’ve ever owned. Show details
Do not buy – Worst toaster I've ever owned. Burnt on one side and not even coloured on the other side - on the lowest setting! Shocking. It should be discontinued immediately. Do not buy. Show details
toasts one side – Returned to HN. Replacement does the same. This toaster should be taken off the market considering that these negative reviews go on for years. The center element is too hot, outer elements too weak resulting in uneven toasting. Show details
Happy at last....it just died – We put up with this toaster for 2years 4months and today it started blowing fuses. I was surprised it lasted that long. Was still only toasting one side. It's in the bin now. Show details

a toaster should toast evenly both sides – This toaster was a replacement for a toaster that lasted only 13 months, unfortunately this doesn't even toast both sides evenly, waste of bench space. This will be replaced before it doesn't work. Show details
While toasts ok design is poor – Does toast quite well however the position of the cord is on the wrong side of the toaster. Whic I think is poor design. You need to face the toaster with the controls to the wall as the power cord exits is on that side which makes it awkward to position on your benctop. Show details
Crap toaster – Only toasts on one side you have to put down again to toast the rest then remember to pop it up before it completely burns. Worst toaster stay away from it Some time toast comes out uncooked one edge and burnt to black on the other side. Waste of money Show details
One Setting Doesn’t Toast the Same – I got it for a reasonable price (packaged with a kettle). I didn’t think it necessary to check reviews before purchase. After all, it’s just a toaster. Well, not a good one. It’s a 4 slice toaster. I always buy 4 slice toasters and have never had a problem. It didn’t matter if I was toasting 1, 2, 3, or 4 slices. They’ve always worked well. … Read more
HOWEVER, not this one! if you choose a setting for 2 slices then it’s too low for 3 or 4 slices. The slices aren’t cooked. And vice versa if you change the setting for 4 slices then it will be too high for 1 or 2 slices. The toast just burns.
I’ve never experienced this before. usually if you have chosen a setting the bread is toasted the same, regardless of whether you are toasting 1 slice, 2, 3 or 4 slices.
Rubbish Rubbish Rubbish – This product should be removed from sale, the first one we bought we returned because the toast would not stay down as the eject button was stuck on the very first use. We returned it. The replacement toaster being the same model is doing the same as other people have experienced. Only toast on one side on the first use, and burns to black on the second use. It's going back to where it came from as being not suitable for purpose. Show details
Only toasts one side!! – I bought 2 of these toasters for 2 properties. When one of the toasters appeared to only toast on one side of the bread I thought it must just be a one off dud only to discover that the other machine is exactly the same with the same side (the right) of each toaster, not toasting! Thought I would search for some reviews before returning the machines to Big W finding it seems to be a common complaint. Will not be replacing with a Kambrook. Show details
Doesn't toast on both sides – I bought this toaster last month Dec 2017 ITEM No. P/B/S KTA140WHT / KAMBROOK / 610873 Barcode 00425171171 Put in 2 slices of bread and it only toasted one side well. The other side of the bread was still white. It appears the outer elements are not toasting enough. Returned item for refund the next day. Show details
Excellent value for money – I've read the other reviews here and while I can agree with some of the comments I only paid $29 for our toaster and for the money it does a great job. It took us several days to get the cook setting right for our needs and find that anything above 1.5 on the dial is going to set the smoke detector off at home. Once the balance was set it's… Read more
all good.
You need to quite carefully position the bread to be able to fit four slices in and I think with some of the larger loaves of bread this would be near impossible.
Not impressed at all – When I found this toaster on the Kogan site I was so excited. I loved the style and it was exactly what I was looking for. That excitement started to lessen as I had to return it 3 times to Kogan as each time it would only toast on one side. The first time I contacted Kambrook directly only to be told that I should put in one slice at a time. So I… Read more
have returned it again to Kogan and have seen the Tiffany 4 slice toaster on their website so will be giving that a go.
So disappointed with Kambrook as it has alway been a reliable and trustworthy product. Other people on Kogan have said the same thing, you would think that Kambrook would have recalled the product to rectify the problem. On the other side, Kogan have been fantastic with handling the situation and trying to help me out.
Don't make this like they used to – We brought a new toaster after ten years as it was playing up. We brought the Kambrook white 4 slot toaster again as there wasn't many options for white toasters with 4 slots at a reasonable price. The element only cooked one side of the toast so acted more like a grill. We took it back to Big W and got an exchange (they were great) thinking we… Read more
just got a dub. Nope, the replacement also only toasts one side properly and the other side barely. We were also disappointed that the white toaster with silver knobs has a black cord. The one we brought ten years earlier had a white cord and went with our kitchen better.
Look elsewhere for a toaster! – We purchased a new Kambrook Toaster - KTA 140 RED from Appliances Online. It was a dud, the wire elements in our new toaster did not all glow evenly and the resulting toast was a disappointment to say the least, all up a terrible toaster and judging by the response from customers service at Breville Pty Limited it was our fault. online did a great job, in terms of our online experience, dealing with our concerns and collecting our dysfunctional toaster. Breville Pty Limited the makers of Kambrook toasters on the other hand were unimpressive.
Customer service at Breville Pty Ltd chose to blame us for the failure of their Kambrook toaster to toast bread, stating that "If you are cutting the bread yourself then this may be the reason for the uneven toasting" and went on to say "The bread these days have (sic) a higher moisture content and this will cause the bread to toast unevenly" and finally "Not all the elements will light up but will still be hot enough to toast" You can draw your own conclusions as to the nonsense value of their response.
We plugged in our new Kambrook Toaster and depressed the carriage control lever. We observed that the wire elements in our new toaster did not all glow evenly. Then we cut a slice of bread and placed it in the toaster. One side of the bread toasted differently than the other side. On one side the 'browning' ranged from burnt to no browning at all. The other side ranged from burnt to brown. We sent them pictures of the unevenly toasted toast and a picture evidencing the uneven glow of the toaster elements.
Look elsewhere for a toaster!
