10 years Old and still going – Hi I'm writing this because after 10 years The G2500 OH has lasted better than I expected. A short history 1. It sat in a damp cave at the back of my garage and still started with only the gentlest of coaching. 2. Early 2020 I Left it for 6 months in the Weather and All it needed was a dry spell under the deck to start again ( and a good few… Read more
Pull starts).
Whats wrong with it ? The Pump is now needing some TLC but after a hundred hours and 10 years of little treatment all there is it show is the rusty retaining plate on the pump. Engine The Muffler has blown out a baffle giving it a F1 sound but apart from that the Right Tyre Inner tube needs some TLC.
Does it do the Job? Yes It still puts out sufficient pressure to spin the surface cleaner.
Would I buy it again ? YES
On the other hand the Low Spec (1/3 the price) CERTA KOGAN replacement has the worst Choke and has blown a PUMP literally breaking the Hex Bolts.
and It wont start if the pressure wand is not released, So you have to start it one handed.
Reliable and powerful – Although it's only a medium size unit it will do a professional job of most tasks. It( Honda motor) is very reliable and will go virtually non stop for 10 hours. Pressure is quite good and won't blast more sensitive surfaces. All connections are still watertight after 5 years. Supplied hose and other nozzle ends are OK. I bought a longer hose so… Read more
the motor noise can be further away and I can reach more distant spots without moving the whole unit. All in all very happy with this product. I use it in my maintenance business.
Indestructable Karcher!!! – I use the G 2500 for Exposed Aggregate concreting. My machine is used many days a week in appalling conditions, ie it sits in the mud, and gets covered in Concrete Slurry, in fact, I forgot the thing was even yellow. 5 years down the track, and probably only 2 oil changes later, it still starts first pull and runs like a dream. Well Done Karcher / Honda!!!
Cheap unreliable pump on this Karcher g2500 pressure washer – I purchased the Karcher G2500 and as expected the Honda motor can not be faulted. The water pump and the Karcher after sales service is another matter. The water pump broke down and it took Karcher over 4 weeks to repair it under warranty. I did some research on the pump that sits on the Karcher G2500oh and I was told that the parts are made in… Read more
Mexico and assembled in China. When the machine returned from warranty repair it ran for less than 1 hour before the pump broke down again. This time losing oil from the pump. I thought I had a lemon and asked for the machine to be replaced. I was informed my Karcher was now a superseded model and to rub salt into the wound Bunnings would only replace it with an inferior model that did not have the Honda motor. In the end I managed to get my money back. Honda motor Pump reliability, service and expected to take an inferior replacement.
Great proformer – Use mine for a detailing business and always does a great job. The honda engine is indestuctable. Also use to clean concrete with, the turbo concrete nozzle works a treat. The detergent function works well once you work out you need to use the right nozzle attachment. Have used it for over 4 years now. Noisy machine. But is a very minimal detail.
Excellent – Used a reasonable quality electric cleaner for years, this one hundred times better and I don't have to worry about working around electricity and water. Well built, easy starting, excellent pressure and water flow.
Good unit – Built a roof over a paved area that had been open to the elements for 8 years and used this washer to blast off general discolouration and moss form light coloured pavers. Overall area was approx 40m2. Unit had good pressure throughout and did the job well and was fairly frugal in fuel (unleaded petrol) consumption. Generally all good. No faults and worked well Exhaust was quite loud and I had to use earplugs but this is a very minor point.
A good pressure washer for the prce – I have used a few pressure washers, electric and petrol. This one is the best in its range that has lasted in the harsh tropical climates in Darwin. I has used it 13hrs straight and it didn't fault. The valve body didn't warp like my old electric Karcher did. You can buy them for around $720. The pressure, design. The hose. It is short and kinks easily. I just got one made up out of hydraulic hose.
Tested in the Hands of Monkeys – Great unit. Originally purchased for cleaning around construction site and later adopted by marine workshop. These guys usually kill every power tool they are given but 7 years on and it is still cleaning boats. Portable, powerful and pretty cheap by comparison! Still no sign of corrosion in the frame and choice of spray heads make it versatile. Never hard to start, reliable, powerful enough for needs. Will tip over in back of wagon or ute.
