Had mine for around 15 years, used mostly for cleaning my car. I tried it with the optional Deck Cleaner accessory, and it was a bit under powered for that. I also tried an accessory Power Wand, and it was still a bit under powered. Yesterday, while… Read more ·  1

cleaning my bins, it decided to start smoking, and set of my RCD safety switch. I thought "that's not good" and switched it off. It continued to smoulder, so I hosed it down and left it outside on the pavers, in case it caught fire. It was a handy tool for most domestic tasks. I will be buying a replacement model with more power for better driveway cleaning. It was a basic, entry level model I just happened to see at Bunnings one day, an impulse purchase which served me well. Prior to this, I'd used a Commercial grade Spitwater model for my part time job as a car cleaner, so I had some experience with pressure cleaners. I also stupidly wore sandals once when using mine, and pressure cleaned my foot. Luckily the under power probably avoided serious injury. Wear appropriate footwear every time, such as safety boots. Lastly, I couldn't figure out the trigger lock, maybe it didn't have one, but if you're cleaning a driveway for example your trigger hand will begin to hurt during extended use.

Follow-up  · This model did not have a trigger lock, presumably for safety reasons. I stored mine in my garage, the footprint is small, if you remove the pressure hose entirely it would take up less space, but it would be irritating to have to re attach it every time to use it, and the risk of cross threading would increase. The smoke was caused by the motor… Read more

What a beauty – Great unit only six years old, plenty of pressure and light and easy to transport About the yard. Have lent the unit to a number of friends who have now also bought themselves a unit. Ensure you select the right wand for your task as there is plenty of pressure behind this unit and go for it.

K 2.36 M : Excellent little machine – I've had mine for at least 5 to 6 years and its still going strong. Someone told me get the one made in Germany not Spain or Portugal which I did. I bought mine from Bunnings. Its a little beauty, rips the green mould etc off the concrete every year and the odd bit of skin if your toes get in the way..Never let me down. Lightweight and powerful Hose not really long enough but thats it.

waste of money, deserves 0 stars – Worked fine for a short time and then failed outside of warranty, The output from the pump is promoted as non corrosive but read this as cheap plastic rubbish. This part developed peening pinholes from the pressure and now sprays water everywhere inside the unit. The replacement part is the entire pump unit which costs more than a new cleaner… Read more

before you factor in the installation. So in the end it is a cheap unit with a designed failure point which you cannot repair. Be warned - buy another brand. Karcher is a throw away item not long after your warranty expires. the cover is yellow everything that is not yellow

Quit outside warranty, so opened the yellow cover. Oil poured out of the top. This has ruined the… Read more

Karcher K2.36 short life – My Karcher K2.36 is 3 years old and is used maybe twice a year. got it to work last week and after about 10 minutes the pressure dropped and water gushed out of the pump casing. Seems to have the split pump problem reported by one other reviewer.I would think that the life should be much better when you consider the low usage. Easy to use and effective Poor service life

Budget Washer – Had this washer for 2 years. Not very powerful, but good for those little jobs around the home provided you haven’t got any serious pressure washing to do. Mine has been used about 8 times for 2 to 4 hours each time. Just got it out to clean the decking, after about 10 minutes use it lost pressure and water ran from the casing. Investigating it… Read more

appears the plastic case around the pump hosing has split. There appears to be no serviceable parts. I assume the motor and pump unit are a disposable item and intended for replacement, not repair. Would have expected more from Karcher. Low price Low power, poor service life

Same thing used probably 15 times and one day a water leak from a crack at the head pump. This is second pump with the same issue.

Good – Seeing it does'nt cost too much, plastic pump or not its still done the job. It will run longer if water ran through the gun before its turned on. Its not reccommended for commercial use,but i use it at work, detailing vehicles boats etc.If used correctly the 2.36 and earlier models will clean more than driveways, homes and backyards.I help wash… Read more

30-40 or so cars per week! Does'nt cost to much, can compare to more expensive models, easy to use if used correctly. It does'nt use much water. It has a plastic pump found on Previus, cheaper, models

If you dont prime with water the pump can split like previous.

Good – K2.36M. Great for washing the car and removing green / black mould on concrete. To get rid of mould you have to hold the cleaning wand close to the ground, so you have to have a lot of patience (and time). A more powerful model would save time. Didn't remove the black stains left by wet leaves on my concrete areas. 30 minute cleaner is the only… Read more

way to remove this. Not as loud as I thought.Power wand works well. Pressure hose could be longer. More power would be good.

Excellent – Overall I think the machine is great and well quality built high pressure machine. As stated and advertise its only for light duty use e.g SMALL patio's, car cleaning, house window washing etc. 4m house is enough since it clearly is one of the lower models and only made for small use. Buy a higher up model if you want longer hose etc. For the… Read more

price its the best one you can get in the light duty class. Very light machine, 2 different power wands (one normal and one dirty blaster/powerful, great for a small patio. Nothing really, would be nice for a built in detergent bottle.

Excellent – The 2.36M works with no problems, I used it straight out of the box, to clean my long driveway. Did not leak, stop, cough or splutter. Great unit. The "power wand" is great for the inground grime removal of driveways etc. The normal wand is very good for cleaning the bricks, roller doors of your house, it has a longer throw of the water. Comes… Read more

with 2 year warranty. 2.36M has a great "power wand" that is great for cleaning the stubborn grime of driveways etc. Cleans very effectively. Nothing really, only found that the 4 metre high pressure hose, could be longer. If you want longer reach on the hose, buy the next 2 models up.
