Don't buy this machine
Bought Karcher K2 early in 2020. Used it a couple of times, but then mid way through a job, motor went to full revs but no pressure. When I took it apart, there is an epicyclic gearbox between the motor and pump, which had broken. Karcher has gone cheap with plastic gears instead of metal, and there are only 2 gears.

Piece of junk
Bought from Bunnings Parafield SA , 3 broke down within first year . Do not buy this machine it’s piece of junk . Swapped to Gerni , much much better machine . Also received “bitchy treatment from Bunnings Parafield SA store manager. Have to go to another store to refund.

Buy the version with a double more powerful wand.
I have had 3 Karchers over the last 30 years and one Gerni. The latter brand I would not buy again. I recently bought a K2 with a single nozzle having previously had the same model and another model with two wands. The single wand is fine for lightly soiled areas but very ordinary on concrete or pavers. I bought on price which was my mistake. If you only buy the K2, pay the extra and buy it with the two wands, which I believe has a rotating nozzle. It's worth the extra amount as it costs more to buy the more powerful wand on it's own after the initial purchase. Or, buy a dearer model. I am off to buy that second wand now.

My pressure washer has always leaked. After using it 5 or 6 times it is now leaking so badly I can't use it. I phoned Karcher and was in a queue and was told they would call back when my place in the queue reached the top. That was 2 full working days ago!
Failed within 2 hours of use
Bought the Home use K2 with patio cleaner attachment.
I had lunch, came back and the K2 decided to stay out for lunch. Permanently.
Returned and full refund received.
El cheapo plastic!

Dangerous and poorly manufactured
Purchased 05/09/20.On first use when the machine was lifted into the horizontal position the body of the cleaner separated from the handle striking toe and severely injuring it. The injury required hospital and orthopaedic treatment to remove shattered bone from toe. The cleaner was returned to Bunnings where it was examined and found faulty. I was offered alternative Karcher machines but found most had slide in handles. It is obvious there is a serious problem with design, manufacture and quality control.

Karcher K2 Plus - JUNK! Do not buy!
No other electric tool/machine in my home garage/workshop are as totally unreliable and very short-lived than the Karcher pressure cleaning units. This is my third Karcher in about 8years - they all break down with very little use! Again I have seldom used this K2 Plus - perhaps twice a year around the suburban yard/deck and I always look after it and store it well. But I pulled it out today to clean the deck and it broke immediately. Lots of loud motor noise but zero pressure - and after consulting and following the troubleshooting FAQs from...the Karcher website the thing just will not work - not worth repairing. (There's no Karcher email for any help/service - only an email for sales) Normally I am pretty handy at troubleshooing and repairs but the Karchers are physically built to be non-repairable and disposable. Have advised Karcher Australia.

Don't buy this product. It's a waste of money.
I used it four times. Apparently the pump is cracked. It's the second one I've bought in 5 years. Coincidentally both gernis I purchased died at the end of the two year warranty. The repairs cost more than what u pay for the product. Ur better off saving for a quality gerni and spending a little extra but do not buy this piece of plastic crap at any cost.

Quick return product
Got this without doing research first, mainly because I thought the long warranty was a sign they had high confidence in their product.
Used it for 15 minutes or so the next day, after a short break the machine got extra noisy and would not build up water pressure anymore. Went back to the manual to confirm that I had done everything I was supposed to and did some troubleshooting. Was not able to get it to work again, so I had to take it back to the shop for a refund. Luckily the short turn-around time meant I got a full refund without any ha...ssle. While I was happy with the water pressure when cleaning the washbay, I was less impressed with the very short functional life of the machine. I don't know if I was just unlucky, but the guy working in the outdoor tool department told me Karcher is crap when I brought it back, make of that what you want. I honestly get the impression most brands of pressure washers are a bit hit-and-miss, judging by the reviews. Personally I would not recommend this brand.

Terrible - unless you want to buy a new one every year!
I have a small annual job for my K2 - clean the moss off 35 sq metres of walkway tiles.
Not a huge task you'd think but two Karcher purchases in a row indicates that they last about 2 years doing this simple task then turn up their toes.
I suggest you avoid this brand until they can build some longevity into their product.

Built-for-purpose. Know its Purpose!
The plastic on the K2 is superior to the K3 and more compact. Assemble is easy and straightforward.
What it is:
1. A Turbo-hose pipe.
2. A powerful cleaner.
3. A Super water-saver.
What it is not:
1. A competition-grade paint-stripper.
2. An industrial-grade pressure cleaner that blasts through 20 years of grime in a single pass.
3. A Magical clean-all water-wand.
Purchased in May 2020 at DIY Tools.
Not fit for purpose
Bought for occasional home use - clean the mower, verandah rails, motor bike, etc. The K2 has adequate pressure but not great cleaning power. Probably the flow rate is too low in this unit. (it's worth researching flow v pressure before deciding on a pressure sprayer) Anyway it didn't matter much because the outlet hose blew off after around 6 hours use. Female thread is shot. I replaced the cheap plastic M22 fitting with something more robust only to see the remaining cheap plastic Karcher coupling fail. I don't want to pay to further repair an obviously under-engineered unit so will be buying a sturdier (non Karcher) machine.
I've written the Karcher up to experience, and written this review so that you don't have to.

More Chinese-built junk! Don't waste your money!
My partner and I had bought and returned no less than TWO Ryobi pressure washers, which both failed within minutes of starting to use them - so we went looking for a pressure washer that might be satisfactory quality.
We investigated the Karcher K2 and were confused about all the different models.
Total Tools had about 3 different models of Karcher on the floor - at least one of which was obsolete, the salesman told us.
This should have been a warning - but my partner was impressed with all the Karcher "tooling" and attachments, that were avai...

Good for its intended use, Key word, intended.
I was skeptical of buying this K2 pressure washer initially because of some of the reviews on here - all I needed was a small electric pressure washer for the weekend car wash. We have a petrol pressure washer but it's a pain to use on the car, I wanted something small, cheap and not insanely high pressure (petrol pressure washers are overkill for cars). Long story short, if you use this pressure washer properly (read the instructions, manage your expectations of pressure, allow water to flow out of the lance BEFORE turning it on and don't keep...the trigger squeezed to unnecessarily long, it will serve you well. I've had mine for about a year now and used it almost every other weekend to wash my car and its served me well, extended warranty is also a bonus. While it isn't perfect (the hose could be longer) if you just need something for your car and you read the instructions, the Karcher K2 pressure washer will fit your needs.

Hardly worth it.
This is as cheap as pressure washers come. The nozzle output is average and while it saves water compared to running a simple hose, in a lot of cases it takes longer to get the job done with the little K2 than simply using a garden trigger nozzle due to the lame pump pressure.
It may be useful for applying detergent on cars using a foam lance but if you want proper cleaning power you need to look for at least a K7 or Gerni Super/Pro series for electric units.
The pumps in these do not like to be run for prolonged periods as they are not activ...ely cooled. After about 10 seconds of running, the hot electric/plastic smell becomes apparent and repeated instances of that will melt the pump as it is known to do. Do you really need a pressure washer? If yes, invest in a higher end unit with a long hose reel and brass pump. If no, a $10 garden trigger will outperform a Karcher K2 for 99% of tasks.
