Hi.. My Speedo meter does not light up when i switch on the ignition but the turn signal blink perfectly. What should i do please help???
This is actually not an uncommon issue, you need to provide some more info.
1. Does the bike start?
2. Any other lights come on during idle sequence?
3. Menu screen is ok?
4. When did it start happening (dropped?)

My friend Had With Some Wheel And It had ABS.
i'm 6.2ft and weight around 65kg.
will the ninja 300 be perfect for me?? thtanks.
Hey buddy...Im 5' 10" ..its pretty comfortable for me..I wud suggest; you should go for test Ride mate....otherwise features Looks performance wise its gr8 Learners bike....Have a after market Loud exhaust too....Hopefully it helps.
Definitely go on a test ride for at least 30 min if you can arrange it. I'm 5' 7" and I find it quite comfortable for the first 20 minutes of the ride. After that I find my legs becoming uncomfortable because you ride with your knees bent and feet tucked under you slightly. I think my legs hurt mainly because I'm 59 years old and being in the one position too long causes the problem - not the bike. My son whom I bought the bike from is the same height and weight as you.He did research for months before he definitely settled on the Ninja as the best first bike to own. He was *adamant* it had to be the Ninja - and has offered to buy it back off me. (not a chance) I very much like the soft sounding exhaust the Ninja comes with. I seem to be alone in this opinion.
6'2" is maybe a little tall. I sit comfortably for hours and I'm 6 ft. No worries
Is the ninja a bit thin/small for a more solid/stocky guy? Just want some opinions before thinking about buying one.
Many people say its quite a bit bigger than they expected. Personally I'm about 172cm and 110kg and have no trouble with the ergonomics, a mate who is 185cm and 120kg said it was more comfortable than his ZX10R. So unless you're really big I say no, it's a great all round bike for all types of people. Good luck in the hunt.
I am 182cm and 85kg so it's all good for me. It would be perfect for me if the seat was 815mm so it being at 805mm it should be sweet for you.
Just try hopping on one and ask one of your mates to take a photo and see how you go with it.
I am 5 foot 6 inches and 83kg, it fits nice to me.
Hi mate is the abs light in dash solid even after starting the bike??? Thanks
Not 100% sure but with all other bikes I know the abs doesn't kick in until 13kmh, so the abs light will flash until you start moving and go past 13kmh. If it's still on while moving faster, it's an issue.
Sorry mate, the ninja 300 I have does not have ABS. I thought it best to learn on a raw bike without electronic aids & then when I have the skills the electronics can be of assistance but I'm not relying on them.
I guess you lost your owners manual, you can download one @ external link in PDF but the ABS light stays on until 10khr (ABS doesn't function below that), after which the light should go out under normal operation, if it doesn't switch off after you get moving you have a fault in the ABS so see a dealer. Not a big deal, you will still have normal brakes, just no ABS and an annoying light on ya dash. The FX300 Ninja cup race bikes have the ABS disconnected, I've got ABS but only because the Black Special Edition only comes in ABS, I prefer not having it as it increases braking distance.
I seen are catastrophic back wheel failure on are big Kawasaki at island of Man is the back rim strong now and is it safe?
lol... the isle of man is the hardest motorcycle race on earth and I don't imagine to many Ninja 300's are conpeting. They usually run larger racing prepped machines running at the limit on superlight wheels. These are not issues impacting street bikes. Certainly not LAMS.
Never heard of such failures on any standard ninja.
What is maximum distance you can get on a tank full, if you ride conservatively? I'm looking to get one in the new year and want to go touring with my husband, he's got a Suzuki V Strom. Thanks.
I would guess around 4-5l/100km. Bikes are generally not designed for economy but for performance.
I have a ninja 300 and have done over 7000km. I commute to work everyday. If I just commute I can get 350km out of one tank. You can go further but you risk running out after that time. If I do sporty riding I get around 300km from a tank. When the last bar on the fuel gauge starts flashing you have around 60kms of fuel range left.
What Rob77 said. I commute 20odd km each way on highway, and get the same results, I'm over 100kg & the fuel log I keep shows between 4 & 4.22L/100km depending how I ride, so the 17L tank should be good for almost 400km, better fuel economy than my Aprilia SRMT scooter!
Does this bike qualify as an economical sport touring model?
Definitely economical but I think it lacks power. It is extremely comfortable and economical to ride, if this is the criteria than go for it. It is faster than other bikes in its class but I am getting bored due to the lack of power.
I agree with JDRana79, the bike is economical. What I don't agree is the lack of power. The Ninja 300 is the most powerful bike you can buy in it's class. So if you're after a powerful bike then purchase a bigger one, maybe one with 650cc. Remember it's a beginner entry level sport tourer so if you think you'll get bored quickly then buy bigger.
