Kelvinator KPK26CRA / KPK35CRA Questions & Answers
VerifiedIm only getting the P2 code come up for the last couple of days no water is going into the plastic bin on the side, so every time i need to drain i have to take it outside and its inconvenient. Any ideas whats wrong?
The aircon drains out the bottom or out the plastic bin on the side. When the plug right down the bottom is in, it will drain to the bin...The bin has a float to stop the air conditioning part running, when the bin is full, an indicator light will come on and the fan will keep running, make sure the float is not jammed in the up position??
Water drain of my aircon. Any help?
Wheres the water drain of my 1/2 HP a.con?
If it is this model portable, It drains condensation to a box in the side of the aircon that slides out, When it is full a red light shows. To have permanent drainage remove the plug right at the bottom of the aircon and the condensation will come out there, its at the back. This model has a pipe that discharges hot air to the nearest window. They can cause a bit of a vacuum inside that will draw a little outside air , inside..Regular thru wall aircons will drain condensation at the back and should be installed on a slight tilt
Help cant find manual instructions
How much one of these cost
Has a hose at back where do you plug the other end?
The condensation drainage point is at the back, in the middle and right at the bottom.... If you don't connect a hose there and have the plug in, the condensation will collect at an internal reservoir that opens at the side....If condensation builds up in the internal reservoir a float switch will switch the air conditioning off till you empty it.. .if you are using the drainage point right at the bottom, the hose needs to drain the water outside...In very humid conditions it will produce at least 3 buckets a day in condensation water... It is best not to use this aircon more than necessary as it is expensive to run and not as efficient as a thru wall/thru window type...This is because the whole of the unit is indoors.... The thru wall/ thru window type has the hot part of the apparatus hanging outside and doesn't create a vacuum when the heat is transferred outside
The other hose is a big round air hose that discharges hot air out the window... At the air conditioner end there is a bracket that allows the the hose to be attached to the air con by sliding it in position.. At the window end there is a narrow bracket to get maximum closure of the window.
On the back next to where the ducts come out there is a little round hole where water is coming out my question is is it missing a plug for that hole as the water is leaking down the back onto the floor
On the back there are two black plugs, one is at the very bottom of the aircon and in the middle, the other is beside the duct that discharges outside..... The one at the bottom is the most important, if that plug is out, all of the water condensation will come out the bottom. If that plug is in. the drawer on the side will fill up with water and the aircon will switch off until you come and empty the drawer..... The plug beside the duct is one I have never taken out. I believe it is for using the aircon as a powerful dehumidifier and collects water condensation from an additional condenser at the top. If your settings do not include a dehumidifier, i would not expect much to come out this hole, however I have never removed this plug in the life of the aircon.
Thanks
I have a P2 code come up on my portable A/C can some one tell me what the issue is? Model KPK35CRA
Im not sure on the models, but I have a p1 code comes up on mine when, the water condensation well that slides out the side, is not fully closed. Also check that the water condensation well is not full, because when it is full, it will stop the airconditioning so you have to empty it. When a drain hose is connected to the very bottom plug at the back, the condensation water will by pass the condensation well and come out the back.
How does the water drain from a kelvinator box air conditioner?
If it is this air conditioner you are referring to, it normally drains to a container in the side. Then it will switch off until you empty it. if you want continuous drainage, take out the plug at the back, the one right at the bottom. Then it will stop draining to the container and drain out the bottom.
If it is an evaporative air cooler it may, or may not have a drain plug. If not, there are usually screws that take the back off to clean the evaporative pad and the insides.
Mine is a box air conditioner that goes in the window. I cant see any container to empty can you send me a picture of where it is please & also of where the plug is at the back for continuous drainage thank you
Mine is a box air conditioner that goes in the window. KWH26HRC. I cant see any container to empty can you send me a picture of where it is please & also of where the plug is at the back for continuous drainage thank you
Where is the water filter on this unit?

I was not aware that it had a water filter.? It has no water going into it because it is not an evaporative system. It is a refrigerant system and has water coming out of it, but this is condensation and has to be drained to waste.
The heat extracted from the air is discharged out a window through a flexible pipe that attaches to the back of the unit.
How energy efficient is the kpk35cra unit. Roughly how much will it cost to run in a small bedroom about 3m by 3m? how many kilowatts per hour?
Probably only the manufacturer can tell you that and the best they could give you is an estimate. This is because the unit doesn't work at full power all the time. It depends on what temperature the thermostat at and how well insulated the room is. If you live in Queensland it will cost you 25.378 cents to run a 1000watt appliance for an hour. The details of my unit are on the back and I cant get to them at the moment, but I estimate it's about 3000watt, so my guess is about 76cents per hour in a poorly insulated room on a very hot day.

Does anyone know where is the water drainage?
Mine has a rubber plug situated at the back and right at the bottom. I use this for permanent condensation drainage. That's when the rubber plug is out. When the rubber plug is in, the condensation will drain to the drawer on the side that can be removed to tip out the water. When the drawer is full there should be a red light that comes on and the air conditioning will stop.

Hi the hose on the bottom of the unit, do I have it blocked, on the top outlet? Also the tank at the side...do I put water in it?
My unit is not exactly the same but I think it probably works the same. When the unit is operating normally. 1.There should be a pipe discharging hot air from the rear of the unit to the window and outside.
2. Plugs in both top and bottom holes.
3. Setting on cool.
4. As it cools it will collect moisture and dump it in the plastic bin on the side. When the bin is full, a red light will flash and it will stop cooling but the fan will keep running. You then have to empty the bin.
5. If the unit is new make sure there is no tape holding the float together inside of the bin.
There is another setting called dehumidify and with this you are supposed to run a hose from the top plug to a hole on the outside of the bin because it must use a different moisture collector to dehimidify.
The bottom plug I am not sure of everything it does, I keep it plugged up but the book says to drain it at the end of every summer if the unit is to be stored.
Further to what I have said previously, the plug at the bottom of the unit may be set up permanent drainage for the unit and by pass the collection bin.
Everything I have read here is correct as I own one myself and find it very good
