Kelvinator KWH26/35/47/53/62HRA

This air conditioner does the job – I bought this unit nearly 13 years ago in the horrid heat wave of January 2009 and it is still going strong. There has never been a problem with it. It's noisy but it heats and cools the living area and beyond effectively. I'm probably going to upgrade to a split system in the next few weeks. I think the unit replacing it will be larger (maybe 7… Read more
kW), hopefully substantially quieter, and with luck it will have lower running costs. On the other hand, it will cost more than twice as much as this one did.
The Kelvinator was a good buy at the time and I've no regrets at all. It served its time very well. (I've also a smaller version of this model in the study bought at the same time, and it's been as sturdy and decent as this larger unit, and a fair bit quieter.)
Very Disappointed – Bought the kwh62crb. PCB died after 2 weeks use. Replaced under warranty. 14 months later the compressor died, meanwhile the warranty ran out. It worked out cheaper to buy another air conditioner than replace the faulty compressor. It's disappointing because my last kelvinator air conditioner lasted over 25 years and was still going strong when I replaced it.
Great and works well – I have always owned Kelvinator AC,s They work very well and I have never had one break down on me. Here in the North/west of Victoria it gets very hot in summer with heat waves lasting three or four days. My KWH26HRA cools a small room even though it is a 2.7 KW. I would rather go over power than under power. At 35 Celsius outside I have my AC set… Read more
to 19 and within 20 minutes I cannot bear the cold! Always go overpower than under even if an electrician will tell you otherwise. Fan noise is reasonable. Obviously quite loud on high but on low my PC is louder! I highly recommend Kelvinator. Cheaper brands may work OK but are not as energy efficient. Heating works just as well for this model. Features include Swing, Dry (for humidity), Auto. Just set it at your desired temperature and it will heat or cool for you. Best brand ever!
Caught fire! They did nothing, not even CEOs – My airconditioner caught fire. They offered no help or assistance whatso ever and their treatment of me as a customer is the worst i have ever encountered in my long life, Had i not been awake i would not be here to tell the story. Not one person including the CEO here and Worldwide cared less about what has happened so i can only surmise this… Read more
is how they treat aLL customers whose airconditioner and any other of their appliances catches fire? I thought they would be falling over themselves to help after what they put me through but how wrong i was they couldnt care less.
Totally unacceptable and in my opinion a disgraceful, unprofessional, uncaring way to treat a customer who would never be in this situation had i not given them my money for my airconditioner that caught fire Shame on you Electrolux.
It caught fire!
Good – I installed this unit 6 months ago in a rental property. I purchased this unit because of it's efficiency (5 stars cooling and 4 stars heating) and the reputation Kelvinator has in Australia with their air conditioners. It's a heavy unit, but that's a good thing because it's not made with flimsy plastic like other competing brands. It is quiet… Read more
considering the size and cools/heats the room quickly. Tenants seem to enjoy it, but it's still early days yet. Quiet, robust, efficient No remote control holder to mount on the wall supplied, it's not made in Australia but made in China
Good but noisy – Work well, just very noisy. Even on low fan it sounds like fan is running hard. Purchased 2 ,both are the same. Salesman claimed it to be very quiet. Noisy
