Kenwood Digital Media Receiver DMX8019DABS

Worst Head Unit I've ever purchased – I purchased this unit on the recommendation of the salesman. I was upgrading from an earlier Kenwood as i wanted to have hands free phone, Apple CarPlay & Digital Radio so that I could get rid of all those cables plugged into various devices. After the install I drove the car home but didn't get much time to link my phone etc. so I did it a few days later when I next drove the car but when using the DABS (Digital Audio Broadcast System) continually cuts in & out on nearly every station this also happens when playing music from my phone (an iPhone 11) with Apple CarPlay even when on a phone call. I have even tried plugging the USB cable (yes the reason I bought the thing in the first place) into my phone to see if that helped, in a word NO it didn't the unit behaved exactly the same. Another weird thing is that when connecting it to my phone via bluetooth, it connects even though I get a message on my phone saying it hasn't connected (see pic), I have deleted the phone and reconnected it again as I was told by the store but this has not helped at all. The Unit Does Not do as it says it will do & in my opinion is a bad unit trying to do what a good one really does do but is a dismal failure. I am working with the store to see what can be done & will post an update later - wish me luck
