Hi, my look doesn't grind vegetables well. So the soups are not smooth ever... Already bought the max blade and the result is the same. Is there a solution or will I need to sell this thing?? Tks

I have been given a kcook, but no stirring paddle included. Would it be ok to use without it? Where could I get one?

Jo D

the recipies say "attach the stiring paddle" and nothing further: I cant find any reference anywhere including the net.

do I then

a) turn it on, if so for how long?

b) if I have to do a) above, do I then remove the stirring paddle, or leave it in while heating?

Thanks

You leave the stirring paddle in while cooking, I have done this for for recipes such as Risotto which needs to be stirred constantly during cooking.

Thanks. It worked well and was such an easy, clean, delicious meal!

I needed a food processor for things like protein balls & whilst googling came across this machine. Is it an actual food processor or does it just blend for soups & sauces? I don't necessary need it for the cooking side of things however if it does both then what a bonus!

The kCook comes with chopping blades, I have used mine for chopping onions and crushing biscuits and it does a great job, but havent tested it with anything harder. I have used it for dough for pizza scrolls, its great for bringing the ingredients together but it wouldnt be good for kneading for bread dough. It is fantastic for cooking foods that need constant stirring, like creamed rice, risotto, or polenta.

christine_e thanks kindly for your reply. that's ok i'm not requiring kneading. what about mixing cake or muffin ingredients?

My experience with the KCook is => yes it is a blender, but don't put anything too tough in it to blend. Mine broke after about 2 weeks of blending normal food items and I have since found out this to be a common issue. Its a shame, otherwise it was great.

Can it blend ice?

Lightness
Lightness

Yes, but I use a powerful blender to do that job simply because I can. I use this device to help me cook, like make soups, risotto and the like. I admit I'd like to experiment more than I have done. I find the Kenwood Recipe App designed for unit somewhat unreliable ... but at least there is some guidance a creative cook can play with.

Is this machine also a pressure cooker?

Lightness
Lightness

No. If you would like a pressure cooker you might consider the Cook 4 Me, the Philips, both are good. If you want a machine that does everything the best are over $1000. I hope this helps

Thank you. Yes, I've been eyeing off the Phillips and I think it's the machine for me.

I start working like usual but after a few minutes every stop and I have a note "Ed 1" what I have to do? Thanks

Lightness

I am not clear about what your specific issue is but I'll do my best to try to clarify. You say it started working but after a few minutes it stopped ... the cycle will stop after the first phase is complete which is about 10 minutes using the Soup function. You need to push the button for it to continue the second phase of the cycle. Each cycle has different time frames I think.

The options are: steam, soup or Stew (if memory serves me correctly) and each function works differently.

I do not understand 'Ed 1', but I assume it might be an error message. I have not read the manual to find out what it means but I recommend you try looking it up in the 'Trouble Shooting' section.

I have had a poor response from the Agent in Australia, Delonghi as established in my original email but you might try contacting them.

If this does not help, perhaps you might try giving me more precise information. All the best and good luck

I also suggest you download the App if you have a smart phone. It is significantly better than the Manual with loads of recipes.

How do I take the processing blade off the bowl? I could not pull it off

Lightness
Lightness

The blade should come off easily but be very careful because it is sharp and it will be very hot if you have been using the blade to blend soup or other hot food. As I mentioned in my Review Kenwood did not give me any support. I believe the Service organisation in Australia is DeLongi but when I phoned them I was not successful in gaining help. It is not good enough. I had trouble downloading the recipe book and when I told them about it they dismissed my concerns. It was upsetting at the time. So I have been experimenting but because I use other kitchen appliances I'm not dependent upon it. If I had known about these issues I don't think I would have purchased it. I am sorry I cannot be of more help.

Hi can it grind nuts or meat?

Lightness

I don't eat meat so I don't know. I find the blade does not blend veggies smoothly when I make soup in it. I use another product to grind nuts. Sorry I cannot be more helpful.

Can the Kcook makes cold things like moose and ice cream etc?

Lightness
Lightness

Because the motor heats the contents I doubt it. I have not tried to make ice cream or moose in it. It should be possible to make a custard mixture which needs heating then transfer it to an ice cream maker or the freezer using an old fashioned method. As to moose I don't know.

download the app and browse the recipes ... there is no ice crushing blade. i have the kenwood blend x pro blender which its FANTASTIC for smoothies and ice cream. this was cheap 2 years ago at 279. the blender had a blade recall which was replaced by delonghi ( kenwood was bought out) and then product ceased. it can still be bought under 200 now.. the kcook is also a ceased product that i got at bw dec 2016 for 249 and although i cooked lovely curry pork meal last night it is limited to stir and heat and light chopping. i wanted to mince meat for meat balls in it but it just stirred the cubes so i turned it into curry. i would save up for magimix cook expert or cuisine companion which have more power ( kcook has ONLY 150 w motor !) and recipe support if u want an all rounder otherwise check the kenwood blend x pro 1400 w power with preset functions eg rice into flour on fine cut function. i would have passed up the discount special had i known that the kcook chopper was so under powered. in all its good at what its designed for but take care you dont overestimate that like i did.
