I read Sherry Cook's review and I had exactly the same experience. The machine is powerful enough to do the job but the speed controller is a terrible design. How this got through from the design phase to the production phase and testing is a joke. The pulse section is next to the off section and is EASILY hit causing your contents to coat the kitchen. I would NOT buy this poorly designed mixer.

Absolutely Terrible Kenwood Hand Held Mixer. Buyer Beware! – This is the VERY WORST kitchen appliance that I have ever purchased - so bad that I don't want to even give it a one star rating!! The beaters are hard to eject, but more importantly, the speed selector dial doesn't click to each next speed but rather moves smoothly from 0 - + (from the lowest to the highest) setting. This means that when you are stopping the mixer and moving the control to '0' and lifting out the beaters from the mix, it is very, very easy to accidentally push the control to the "pulse" setting. Each time I have used this (only a few times), I have sprayed whipped cream and other mixes all over - all over the bench top, the window, the wall and my phone nearby. IT WAS A VERY BIG MESS!! This all has to do with the way the product is designed as it doesn't need a "pulse" function and the speed settings should allow you to click to each one instead of smoothly sliding along for much better control (and like all the other hand held mixers currently on the market). I hate this mixer so much, even after paying $99.00 for it and not using that much, I am giving it away to a charity, hoping that the next person who uses this will not be making such an incredible mess every time they use it! This is a company that seems like it is trading on their past reputation and not the satisfaction of the people who are currently using this product! Buyer Beware!

Purchased for $99.

A waste of money – I purchased the Kenwood Quickmix Hand Mixer on 22/11/2022 I tested it and it won’t eject the mixing beaters. I am very disappointed in this product and would not recommend it to anyone.
