Found this mixer to be quite expensive - the softening butter feature we used once or twice - it's a bit gimmicky. much easier to just soften butter in the microwave or take it out a bit earlier and use a cheaper mixer I don't know if ours was just a dud (although I notice a lot of the reviews complain about the noise), but ours emitted an… Read more

excruciating high pitched whine when it was in the lower power settings (spare a thought for any dogs in the neighbourhood). So much, so that I would never use it at any setting that produced it and I cringed every time it was brought out.

Most recently when we turn it off after use, it has this electrical crackling sound (like it's sparking inside). I reached out to Sunbeam and after harvesting all my information and reviewing for a few days they didn't want to know about it as it was out of the 12 month warranty period.

For the cost I would not purchase this again: 1. Had I known about the noise, I wouldn't have purchased it in the first place, and 2. Given Sunbeam's lack of interest in the product fault, I can't say I would purchase another one of their products.

Horrible appliance – I bought this from JB HiFi. The minute I plugged it in it sounded like a hair dryer and very noisy. Not surprisingly, because that is basically what it is - a hand held hair dryer with a mechanism to make the beaters spin. Not just loud, but a lot of unsettling vibration when using it to mix. After the first use I decided I couldn't go on with… Read more

this and went out and bought a real hand held mixer - A KitchenAid product. Beautiful and made for purpose.

So far so good – Bought this after reading the reviews. I always go to make something and realise it needs room temperature butter so thought this would would solve that problem! Pros: Does what it says - softens butter Powerful: range of power settings, think it goes up to 10 and has a boost button Good range of attachments although only used beaters so far (… Read more

also includes whisk and dough beaters) Includes storage box Cons: Quite heavy Not really a con more a watch out - it uses a fan to soften the butter so don't use the setting when mixing flour/ icing sugar as it goes everywhere ( I made this mistake) Overall happy with my purchase It's only been used a handful of times though so can't comment on long term use

Not Just a Pretty Face – Each lockdown triggers a cooking frenzy and this time I've turned to baking cakes the way my Mum did. You know - back before they invented pre-packaged cake mixes. Although I have a new Sunbeam Planetary Benchtop Mixmaster it’s a bit of a pain to get out of the cupboard and not ideal for making icing. So, I decided to buy an electric handheld… Read more

mixmaster.

While I like the brand, I don’t have a predisposition towards Sunbeam appliances and unless it’s cordless all mixmaster’s are much the same and they all do the same thing. Although I wanted something black to match my other appliances, I found myself drawn to the Sunbeam Mixmaster HeatSoft Hand Mixer (JM7000).

At $82, it’s middle of the road in price but the rose-gold magnetic nozzle got my attention. Who would have thought it possible to make a mixmaster look sexy? Well, I must hand it to Sunbeam, because they have.

Not only that, it also has 7 speed settings and comes with a handy storage case. But what makes it a must have, is the unique heatsoft function that softens cold butter from the fridge in about 2 minutes. I’ve since been making buttercream icing like there’s no tomorrow.

The only drawback for a messy cook like me is cleaning the thing. The accessories are easy, but the speed control grooves are another thing. That issue aside, I would not be without it.

So disappointed – I bought this hand mixer after reading reviews...... In the first instance I was pretty happy the beaters were tricky to connect at times but overall power was good and the heating addition a useful novelty. Mainly used for beating cream, a separate single whisk attachment was given for this not seen other brands with whisks as well as standard… Read more

beaters. Not sure why only one and not two whisk attachments but it did the job. I also use it for creaming butter and sugar together for cakes this is where the heating was useful. The storage box was really nice too however that broke at the top despite very careful handling. Now the negative. After just 12 months and maybe fifteen uses max, one day just stopped working. The motor was fine its the actual switch. Its a sealed unit so unable to get inside to investigate. If I give it a bit of a shake it starts then stops. 12 months seems pretty poor my past beaters have literally lasted years and only needed replacing because the chrome started peeling off the beaters. Yes I am very disappointed and expected a better lifespan...... So cant recommend and will be replacing with a different brand.

Over-hyped mixer does not live up to marketing claims – I bought the Sunbeam JM7000 from DJ'S Adelaide in April 2020 and was pleased with the natty packaging which allowed me to store everything in a plastic box. Was also pleased with the heat button that made creaming butter & sugar faster. I used it ONCE and then stopped. Assume the motor has blown. David Jones has been pathetic & so slow to even acknowledge emails & phone calls. Show details

Hand mixer that plays with the big kids – Now this is a tool that really offers a great option to a stand mixer. It powers through heavy ingredients, and with the softening feature it makes easy work of butter & cream cheese. It seems to create a lighter overall result even than standing ingredients at room temp. For egg whites the speed is awesome, yet won't hammer the mix or… Read more ·  1

overwork. Cleaning poses no problems and the storage of accessories in one unit eliminates foraging thru' drawers. This was an impulse buy when wanting a "portable" item for some catering jobs, but now it's used regularly. Love it & strongly recommend it as a great buy for price, quality and convenience.

Game changing mixer! – This is a game changing mixer. I always forget to leave the butter out so this makes my life so much easier. The first time I used it, I wasn't sure if it was working in the first 5 seconds but then the texture of the butter completely changes soon afterwards. Great innovation and I'll be baking more often....maybe that's a bad thing! Show details ·  1

What a great little machine! – Such a great tool in the kitchen. Not too heavy, super powerful and great results. The built in storage box is very neat. We found that sometimes it was a little difficult to get the beaters back in the holes. The heat function made beating butter very easy. Show details ·  1

Perfect for vegan baking – I run a completely vegan kitchen so to add fat to my baking I emulsify nut butters with oils and in todays baking, maple syrup. Usually this requires heating in a pot on the stove. However with the Heat Soft, joy of joys, it was a one bowl process. The nut butter, oil and syrup blended like a dream with the heat feature. I then added flour, apple… Read more ·  1

Perfect for Last Minute Bakers! – I am forever deciding to bake something at the last minute (or after work), and the HeatSoft Function is a godsend. No one ever has the time to let butter come to room temperature, and this mixer gets you there in no time. The mixer itself is light, but powerful and I had no problems thoroughly mixing the chocolate chips into my cookie dough. The… Read more ·  1

Great Product! – I always forget to get my butter out of the fridge hours before I bake. This product has saved so much time. It works better then I originally thought that it would. The whisk attachment was perfect for making meringues. The storage container is helpful for the storage but it is hard to try and place all the attachment in with the cord as well so that it can lock in. But overall a grate product. Would definitely recommend! Show details ·  1

Fabulous Product – I’ve just cooked the fluffiest batch of cupcakes using the new Sunbeam Heatsoft Hand mixer. The heat soft softens the butter in no time with the press of a button. Perfect mixer for the time poor baker! – Where has this mixer been all my life! It's not often that I get the time to spend an entire day baking, I would love that but usually I'm just trying to get the cookie jar filled up for the week when I have a few spare minutes. The fact that I don't need to prep my ingredients beforehand and can pull the butter straight from the fridge is a huge… Read more

timesaver for me. The batch of cookies that I made with he HeatSoft Hand Mixer have definitely been the easiest, quickest and softest yet! And close second is it's so compact - it stores away perfectly , in one spot with all its attachments meaning that I spend less time searching through drawers to assemble. My new favourite appliance by far, well worth the money and would highly recommend!

Great hand mixer with clever heat soft technology – I have the sunbeam hand mixer with heat soft technology and is a brilliant little tool for bakers. I was skeptical about the heat soft tech but it is very effective in enabling you to cream butter straight from the fridge! No more planning ahead required. Also I really like how it packs away, with attachments, for storage in the nifty storage box. Very easy to clean too! Show details ·  1

Excellent Product – The new Sunbeam MixMaster HeatSoft is fantastic and so easy to use. The speed / Power of 270 Watts is insane, I recommend starting on a low speed. The Heat Soft Technology is absolutely genius, It took only minutes for the butter to effortlessly melt, making the mixture light and fluffy. I highly recommend this product and honestly can say it makes me want to Bake more often. Show details ·  1

Now you do have time to bake from scratch! – I always forget to remove the butter from the fridge and never have the time (or patience) to wait for it to soften. The heat soft function really works. Master of mixing! – This hand mixer is seriously impressive. First of all, I was impressed by its speed and power to perfectly mix the ingredients. HeatSoft Helper – Every week I make cakes and biscuits for my 97 Year old father as he loves home made cakes and biscuits. I only use real butter which I usually defrost in the microwave or in a small pan sometimes ending up with the butter having a burnt taste. The heat soft is fantastic and I don’t get that burning taste anymore and the creaming of sugar and butter is fluffier when using my heatsoft. I’m very impressed! Show details ·  1

Solid mixer with a great new feature – I am thrilled that someone has invented a gadget that allows you to mix up a cake batter with butter straight out of the fridge. intended to be used for 1-2 minutes and has a safety feature of a cut-off switch if left on for over 5 minutes. The unit also has a light to indicate that the heat function is on, but this was hard to read due to the small indicator knob.

The 270 watt motor is more powerful than my old Sunbeam mixer but is also a fair bit heavier, weighing 1.31kg, which is the only criticism of this unit. I love that the mixer comes with a case allowing it to be stored with the attachment blades.

I will definitely be reaching for this product when I feel the need to bake!

HeatSoft Technology to the Rescue – I can't believe no one thought to pair an electric whisk with a hairdryer before. This is amazing! Thrilled with this product! – I am so thrilled with my HeatSoft hand mixer! I was short on time to bake a cake for an afternoon tea and had to use cold butter from the fridge. The heated beaters allowed the butter and sugar to cream up perfectly within minutes! I would highly recommend this product if searching for a hand mixer! It also sits flat on the bench (my last one didn’t have a flat bottom and I had to lean in the bowl when I was adding eggs etc). Show details ·  1

Genuinely pleased to see it works! – Seriously, I have struggled for years to remember to take the butter out of the fridge before I start baking but now it doesn't matter!
