So dissapointing – Well I certainly got talked into this vacuum by 2 smooth talking sales people.Every thing they showed me seemed so simple. Its so loud it will send you deaf unless you wear protection.Changing attachments is a pain after a few months of ownership. Its got a rubber belt that wears out.The wands keep coming apart, wont fit under beds like normal… Read more

Too heavy and hard to use – The Kirby is too hard, heavy, noisy and industrial for my needs. I've basically had it in the cupboard for most of its life with me. Today I wanted to shampoo a wool rug and its taken hours to convert unit to shampoo mode as I read the instruction book, then shampooed, and put it back to vacuum mode. It almost ended up in the fish pond! I was… Read more

impressed with demo and how it seemed to get things so clean but it was a oversell for a small household with timber floors with a few Persian rugs. It's easier and quicker for me to broom, mop and clean crevices manually even with arthritis in hands and fingers... it's just too heavy fir my situation.

Best Vacuum I've ever had !! – Legitimately the best vacuum cleaner I've ever owned !!. I've had Dyson, LG, Hoover, Vax & some cheap Kmart ones, eventually they all broke down, I was very disappointed with my Dyson & LG's longevity. I was convinced I WASN'T going to spend the big money on a Vacuum cleaner, but reading up on Kirby & having a demo, my mind changed. I have 5… Read more

dogs & 3 cats all of which are house trained but accidents do happen. When I moved into a rental property the carpet was supposedly cleaned .... ( NOT ) . I had the demonstration & found the ease of using the Kirby & how well the carpet came up with just 1 clean was amazing. The initial usage & changing of Vacuum heads ect is a little overwhelming, but when you've done it once it's then very simple. I love how I can clean my carpets , furniture & bed when ever I want & the cost of purchasing the Kirby cleaning products is very reasonable. I have old carpet throughout the home that has hands down come up so well, & vinyl flooring in the kitchen dining area has come up a treat too. I didn't think it was that bad, but the Kirby proved otherwise. The suction on this Vacuum is fantastic, & knowing your picking up all that dust, grit, fur & dust mites is wonderful ... Hands down the BEST & LAST vacuum ill ever own.

So now I've owned my Kirby for a couple of months & I'm still wrapped with my purchase.. the carpet feels soft after every vacuum & I've cleaned my carpets 3 times just to keep that fresh feeling, due to the amount of dogs & cats living inside. I really am impressed & happy with this vacuum.

The best one we ever had! – Had Kirby's in the family for over 10y now. It's not a cure for allergies but helped enormously. All my 3 kids bought their Avalir 2's as they moved out finding out that a good night sleep and a clean carpet is a must in live. Nothing else can clean same was as most is patented technology according to the Kirby brochure. Now with my Avalir 2 I can… Read more

clean tiles and grout, deep clean carpet, furniture and car seats. I can also was my carpet, matress and car seats :)))). It came handy just on time as I am selling my car CX5 and seats become like new! Thank you KIRBY for your 100y (not sure, but I think is a 100y old company) greatness. I had a minor problem but the store did fix my kirby in 24h! So thanks again.

Not worth the money – I was blown away by the demonstration in my home. So much dust still in my carpet after I had vacuumed with my old vacuum. However, The Kirby is supposed to be a you-beaut all rounder, vacuum, carpet shampooer, window washer and a lot of other stuff. The vacuum function is very powerful, but bulky and heavy, you also have to make sure you don't… Read more

vacuum anything hard and bigger than a crumb (like a small piece of gravel) because it will cause damage to the machine. It is also a process to change from a large brush vacuum head to a hose and nosel or dusting head to do close to skirting boards or to do wall, window tracks and fans etc. The shampoo function is ridiculous. It basically just lays foam on your carpet and gives it a brush. The real kicker is, you have to leave it to dry for 24 hours, then vacuum up the residue. The results are pretty weak for a lot of time and effort, not to mention the tiny reservoir you have to refill a million times! The window washer is a pain in the but for minimal results. Awkward and bulky. I find that I never use the shampoo function or the window washer and have actually purchased a seperate carpet shampooer. So is it worth the huge price? No. A very good vacuum but useless for all that it was promised to be.
