Unreliable Product and Disappointing Customer Support – I recently encountered a significant issue with my cordless food chopper, and I feel compelled to share my experience to alert potential buyers. After three years of use, the device suddenly ceased functioning, prompting me to reach out to the customer support team for assistance. To my dismay, the customer support response left much to be desired. Instead of offering a solution or proposing a repair, they outright stated that the device was unfixable without even inspecting it. This lack of willingness to assess the product's condition was frustrating, especially given the premium price point of $239.

In response to my predicament, the customer support team's resolution was a meager 10% discount on a replacement unit. I find this offer inadequate, considering the expectation that a product in this price range should exhibit a longer lifespan. A cordless food chopper is a kitchen essential, and a three-year lifespan falls significantly short of industry standards.

The absence of an option for repair, coupled with the minimal discount on a new purchase, has left me disappointed and questioning the durability of this product. Investing in a kitchen appliance should come with the assurance of longevity, and a malfunction after only three years is both unexpected and frustrating.

Prospective buyers should approach this cordless food chopper with caution, considering the potential for premature malfunction and the seemingly unhelpful customer support. It is disheartening to invest in a product that falls short of expectations and receive a less-than-satisfactory response when seeking assistance. In light of my experience, I would hesitate to recommend this product to others.

Difficult to operate – I bought this and charged it but it’s difficult to get in the right spot to get it working. It’s very fidily and won’t work unless it’s been pulled apart and in the right position.

Germ Trap Lid and size is everything Kitchenaid 5KFC0516ACU – I purchased this product to help cut veggies up not to make mayonnaise or dips. I am very disappointed with its capacity to chop, they say 5 cup but they also say don’t fill more than half way to allow contents room to chop. So this is a 2.5 cup (very small). The 3.5 cup- would be totally useless only good for chopping garlic as it would be only a 1.5 cup. Perhaps the 9 cup (4.5) would have suited better. But apart from size/capacity there is one major fault which would span over all Kitchenaid Choppers, that is the lid. I lid is made up of 2 plastic components clear plastic and a black plastic component on top, they have a hinge that joins them, Upon washing the product jug, lid and cutting parts I noticed beads of water were trapped in between the black and clear plastics components . Trying to separate not wanting to force them apart to dry off completely, I decided to telephone Kitchenaid Australia and was advised by their Customer Service that the lid does not separate and I should put it on the window sill to dry off? Germs by nature are sometimes visible or not visible ie: microscopic. There is no physical way you can dry/clean the lid manually completely. If you have a build-up of microscopic germs over time, I would consider it could become a serious health risk. I guess you could sterilize the lid by boiling it in water but will the plastic melt in boiling water, none of this is covered in the user instructions? Overall the design is ok but for a large company like Kitchenaid the design of the lid is poor The motor and housing is robust, but the size and germ factors are of significant disappointment.

Brilliant Little machine – I recently bought this little chopper online, and while I'm not normally one for a lot of kitchen gadgets, this little thing is brilliant. I've made pikelet batter in it,turns out fabulous and fluffy. Maybe the machine is a little on the small side for families, you can always make 2 or more batches. It whips cream literally in seconds, apple crumble is super easy, no more messy gluggy crumble mix, it's perfect. Chops onions so well, the uses are endless. I got sick of burning out normal blenders, this whizzbang chopper is great. I'm in love

Misleading product information – My husband recently purchased a KitchenAid Cordless Chopper for my birthday. Quite a high price tag for a relatively basic appliance ($259.00). On unpacking it, I discovered that one of the parts was not in the box (the storage case). In the User Manual the storage case is clearly depicted (item 16). On alerting the KitchenAid customer service team to this omission, they ‘explained’ that the polystyrene foam packaging material was in fact the storage case. This of course had been thrown out. They then posted another empty box containing exactly the same two unattached foam pieces, with the following explanation:

Retailers’s comments We upgraded the box to what we call the “pizza” box where it lays on its back and opens up laying on its “back” so the extra pieces don’t fall out. Also, we upgraded the foam to make nice storage compartments. Black is an upgrade over white, and it was melded to hold the parts in. The box your product came in is the storage case.

Back to the reviewer The above explanation makes no sense whatsoever and is the biggest load of spin (aka crap) I have ever heard.

Be very wary when purchasing KitchenAid products, and in particular do not expect an honest and helpful response from their Customer Service Team.
