Dicing kit useless, Can't use Medium Bowl, Does Not chop properly
I regret buying this product and now it is just an ornament on my bench top. The dicing kit is way too small says 8mm, but spits them out around 5mm. Most of the time it just turns it into a mush and destroys the food. Also most of the vegies just get stuck in it. A much larger dicing kit would of been suitable. However, no 12mm dicing kit is available to purchase for this machine. The medium bowl is pretty useless as most of the parts do not fit it. Plus if you get a bit of fluid between the medium bowl and large bowl it acts as a suction cup,...so in other words it gets stuck, its impossible to separate. Generally you have a small bowl, that is good to chop, but it doesn't chop too well (couldnt chop macadamias'), I use a blender/grinder now instead of it. Whilst you are using the smaller bowl fluid has a tendency to pure into the larger jug, no matter how little the amount is, means you have to wash even that too. The large mixing bowl is OK, again though it's not very good at chopping (I took out the macadamia's and put them there instead hoping it would work, nope). It also did a terrible job with Carrots and Onions, so part of it was chopped and then huge chunks were not. I contacted kitchenaid to complain and requested to return this item they refused. Stated they don't guarantee customer satisfaction and don't replace for change of mind. What they don't get is the product is terrible and doesn't do what its suppose to do, and when it does work its does a poor job of it. Also they are very vague with their descriptions, so you have to make assumptions as to what size the dicing kit is etc. When you question this, their response is, you can find this information out in the user manual lol, go figure. I will never purchase another kitchenaid product again. In fact I purchased a Kenwood stand mixer instead, and actually does the job better, funny enough its even a used one. I had no choice but to purchase the Kenwood, cos I spent so much money on the Kitchenaid food processor, I was limited to my options, as it just didn't do the job and I threw out my Sunbeam one (regretted doing that, as it worked much better). The dicing kit for the Kenwood, dicers much larger and does an excellent job. I have a lot of experience with food processors as I use them at least twice a day, I have a very good idea how to use them. So if you all are considering in purchasing this machine email me, you can have mine, its only been used once.
Purchased in January 2019 for A$800.00.
Dicing Kit is a total disaster
Looks pretty and works well with the other options but the dicing kit is a total disaster! It is impossible to pull it apart after assembling. I already cut myself 3 times trying to disassemble it! On top of that the dicing kit gets stuck with no matter what I tried to dice - potatoes, carrots, zucchini... The same happens all the time: after the first round the diced veggie gets stuck between the blade and the dicing attachment. Tried everything, watched all troubleshooting videos on Youtube and nothing works! Called Kitchenaid today and was t...old to take a video and to send it over to them. That's a total disgrace especially for a product that is priced @ $1000!!! One would expect that product to work seamlessly and to be user friendly not to have to get rocket science lessons to operate a food processor! In the past we had several machines by other brands and they were easy as to operate and to use. Can anyone tell me if there is a secret or do I just send it back?
Machine is quite heavy, easier if it’s kept on the bench.
If the bowl or lid are not in properly the machine won’t work whic is a great safety feature.
Grates Parmesan cheese tp perfection.
Sliced different types of veggies and perfect each time.
Dips are done within less than a minute.
French fry and shredding disc work well BUT shreds of the veggies end up on top of the disc where the lid is and it’s a bit of a pain to clean.
Even though this machine is quite pricey it’s worth every cent, especially the amount of time you save preparing.
It’s the perfect appliance to have and I have no regrets purchasing it.
March 21st 2018 Update: Excellent customer service ...Having seen a small crack on my multi blade I immediately contacted customer service. Spoke to a lovely lady Yvonne believed what I said with no hesitation, she informed me it would be dispatched within 24-48 hours. Wow I was really blown away receiving the item the following business day.

This isn't perfect.
The reason I convinced my wife to get the KitchenAir Pro Line Dicing food processor was so we can save our time when dicing the carrots and potatoes. Unfortunately it never does the job since it arrived. The dicing blade always gets stuck, it doesn’t work as expected.
Here is what happens:
1. We put a 5 minute boiled carrot into the $1000 machine;
2. It gets stuck after cutting 2cm of carrot;
3. We hopefully try again by cleaning up the dicing blade;
4. Back to step 1 (As it never works)
Note: Another frustrating thing is that to...clean the stuck carrots or potatos, the lid is hard to open, imagining to do that for every 2 cm of the carrots. I won't recommend KitchenAid product to my family and friends, from this experience I assume that they don't do a proper product testing before it goes to the market.
Essential kitchen equipment so why not invest in the best & prettiest?
Since I bought my first food processor back when another brand was all the rage, times have changed. I must admit that when I was 'learning', I was quite unsure how to use it. But I worked my way through the recipes and hints. So buying this slick red model was far easier altogether. Note that I never put any of the parts in the dishwasher - I hand wash and airdry sometimes on the top of the cook-top on a teatowel at the end of a baking session with everything turned off (not in the oven). Be careful of water that is too hot or drying over ...too much heat as the bowl can go cloudy (my friend had that happen). The bowl is a perfect size for me. The shredding tool is good for veggies like carrots, celery and potatoes with the grater blade, not great for onions as they go too mushy. Stick to a knife and board for those. Excellent for making pastry. (I pre-chill the bowl & blade). Soups, no problem. Processing is even with no lumps left. Home made salad dressing/mayo, hummous and other dips, it is perfect. Easy to clean except for some of the areas around the switch (where the bowl clicks in) and I clean them with a bit of paper towel around a toothpick. I am very happy with the design especially the splash of candy red now in my kitchen. As my old model lasted for around 30 years, I have high expectations that this will last most of my life.
Questions & Answers
I have had this model for a couple of days and cannot get the dicer to work properly. It jams just putting a carrot through. Tried potatoes and same result. After reading the experiences of other purchasers (over a long period to!) I'm really disappointed KitchenAid haven't done anything to rectify the problem.
I have been big fan of your products but now I'm not sure.
I am have difficulty with the dicer and am wondering g if there are any tricks to put it together and getting it apart
