Good Basic Blender – I have had this blender for a long time and found it to be a good basic blender. Its only problem is that the rubber clutch keeps disintegrating even though I wash and dry everything thoroughly it still falls apart. But other than that its still going strong. Show details · 1
Good – We received this blender as a wedding present and have been really happy with it. It's very powerful and blends everything from ice to soups. It looks fabulous on our bench next to our kitchenaid mixer. One problem that we have with it is cleaning it if we've blended something thick. The glass part doesn't come away from the base so you have to… Read more
poke a brush into the corners which doesn't always remove the food. Running the blender with hot soapy water in it doesn't always remove the food either.
I've also found that food splatters from the top lid if you have to open it whilst adding ingredients, like oil when making a mayonnaise for example. This didn't happen with my mothers old Kenwood Chef. Really powerful, 5 different settings, looks great and the colours are bright and colourfast. Can be a bit difficult to clean if you are blending thick soups or sauces.
The low setting isn't quite low enough to avoid splashes and mess if you open the top while the machine is working (to make mayonnaise or add ingredients for example)
OK – It is a good machine, but it put me off after processing a chopped up orange for cake. I have now invested in a bamix which you stick into a pot to blend or puree soup without all the fuss and a magimix 5200 for larger tasks. Nice design allowing for easy cleaning. Works well on pulse! Tricky to clean and base dose not come away completely. I put… Read more
a chopped up orange cut into at least 16 pieces to process for a cake and the motor blew and overheated. After been replaced I would only pulse and hence lost confidence.
OK – I think you can get the same preformance from a good less expensive brand. Stick with a glass jug much better than plastic. Heavy appliance won't move about when in use. Lots of settings to choose from and great colour range. Easy to clean. Doesn't completly process a banana for a smoothie, it still comes out in chunks. Expensive item.
Good – If you forget about the price, this is a great blender! A couple of strange design decisions. It looks like it will last for more than 10 years and if it does, I'll be happy! Easy to use. Easy to clean. Heavy duty - looks like it will last forever. The problem I have is that the unit is too heavy for its own legs. The legs are made of a rubber… Read more
substance which gets stuck to the kitchen table after being left in one position for a couple of weeks. Sometimes it leaves white marks on the table where the rubber legs have 'melted' on to the table. My KitchenAid food processor has the same problem. Expensive, although I got mine off ebay.
Very Disappointed – Have a KitchenAid mixer, never missed a beat! Unfortunately the blender was hopeless with blade in the jug never engaging properly with the spindle. Should have sent it back but didn't. In the end the motor burnt out. Resolved never to buy anything other than a mixer made by KitchenAid in the future. Rubbish! Looks good! Expensive and doesn't work.
Terrible – As a chef, I loved using the kitchenaid mixer- (better than Kenwood) so bought the blender. Really disappointed, would not chop even a banana in smoothie after blending for two minutes (broken into pieces before putting in blender) and thats if you could put up with the noise. Have now bought a breville ikon. It does everything you expect and is quieter Looks good, solid. Noisy, won't chop properly, expensive
terrible performance – We needed a new blender after I accidently dropped the class section oour old Breville - I had always wanted to get a kitchaid appliance, so I go this blender via points through our credit card. What a disappointment!! We had regularly made fruit smoothies with the Breville with frozen raspberries - the Kitchenaid couldn't even blend these up. -… Read more
It just ground to a halt. If you add liquid, it will stt again - but we were not interetsed in adding lidquid!!
I feel bad enough that I wasted points on purhcasing this item - the thought of people spending money on it just horifies me - don't do it!!
Has certainly put me off buying the mixer and teh food processor - both of which were on my wish list for Xmas - but no more - beware of expensive Kitchenaid blenders - do not understand how Kitchenaid can get away with charging such a lot of money for a product that does not do what it w deisgned to do. it looks lovely does not do what we needed it to do
Good – I think that this is worth the money. I make smoothies all the time and milkshakes when my niece and nephew visit. also very good for cocktails ; ) very easy to clean, does an excellent job I don't dislike anything about this product
