I did not realise it was not a full time GPS unit. You need your phone to use it. One thing I found it needs a clip on magnifier for people who wear glasses especially bifocals. Overall for the price it a good buy. There are also helpfully videos on how to available. Show details ·  1

bit thin, I will place a thicker base under it to try and rectify that problem. Otherwise all good, My Brother inlaw has the same one and I purchased this one because I saw his.

After some setting up issues ( my lack of understanding) the smartplay has been a beauty. I love the clear screen and in particular the sound combo of the units speaker and the car's. Quickly and concisely, KLEVA have fixed this issue. Extra credit granted, my trust is restored. Very happy with result. Good size screen but audio quality on calls is terrible and volume button on screen covers speed identification which is a design flaw. Tested device in 2 different cars with different users and results were the same. Very disappointing but even worse was the response from the company reps who did not care and made it almost impossible to return for a refund. Show details

Not a great product chews through your phone battery, does not connect clearly to radio to play your music lots of static, speaker phone has a huge echo for the person your talking too. Will be returning this product

You can buy exactly the same carplay unit on eBay for $45. The quality is exactly the same - TERRIBLE! Just no remote included for $45 but the remote doesnt work anyway. And yes the microphone is useless too. Callers cant hear you properly. So much for hands free calls. BTW most of these portable carplay units are the same quality. Doesnt matter much which brand.

Faulty product and when I emailed to get it sorted I kept getting the same answer and no one would help or do anything about this, I have bought several products from here but not likely to again with the product not only faulty but the customer service response was very disappointing, not likely to spend money on something for it to not work and not get any resolution for a refund.

Messed with my car - phone voice activation. Doesn't run the most recent version of Google Maps software. Can't switch to dark mode for night driving, so annoying and dangerously distracting at night. Windscreen attachment started to melt within a few months. Whole thing useless within 12 months

If I could give no stars I would. I bought one and then the music started to glitch so I got in conact with them so they sent out another one and unfortunately it also is glitching. I would never buy one of these again they need to stop selling these. For the people saying it works great for them, what am I doing wrong?

Absolute waste of money, cheap and nasty. Flimsy, takes quite a hard press to use touchscreen which make the screen move from side to side even when locking mechanisms fully tightened. through the device which means changing channel on your radio then changing back when receiving an incoming call before answering. Remote doesn’t work unless nearly touching the screen which defeats the purpose of having it at all. Really cheap and nasty would give zero stars if I could, do not buy.

Excellent product – I understand the negative reviews, it takes a while to work out all the connections and features, but, I am pleasantly surprised at how good this unit is. It auto connects to everything including the car speakers. I use Android auto and Waze as my preference. Just be patient when using the instructions and doing the setup. Needs different connection options – Lighter plug should have a second option. I have a camera as well that needs to be played onto the lighter socket but it has the USB option. If I plug it into the usb socket on the side of the smart play . I can’t plug my phone into anything to keep it on charge on long trips so then I have to unplug my camera. CORD NOT A FULL PLUG INTO THE CIGARETTE LIGHTER SOCKET Also my car play kicks in when it first starts and I can’t work out how to stop it from kicking in I have to wait before I drive to turn it off and the sound doesn’t come out of the car speaker NOT TO HAPPY WITH THIS PRODUCT

Refund given less P&H but no replacement as requested – Android auto and remote didn't work so I returned for replacement and all I received was refund less postage. Not my fault but still using this process I'm out of pocket. If I returned a functioning unit I expect to loose P&H but this unit was proven faulty after countless emails back and forth with Kleva. I won't be using them ever again.

Not as good as you may think – Doesn't stick to the windscreen, its a bit clunky to use. Can only use it when stationary so it defeats the purpose. The holder isn't robust and the unit falls off all the time.

Practice makes perfect – As Baby Boomers, we are not overly tech savvy, but we finally got our SmartPlay to work. We use it as often as we can, just to get used to the technology. It is a great asset to our travelling. Show reply
