The Best Ever Online Order Purchase I Had Delivered from Kmart Ever! Delivery was fast and arrived in good timing as I'd only just unpacked after moving in. The only thing was that the delivery driver was in a hurry, plonking this heavy machine basically in front of my front door!? I told him he's blocking my doorway, plus I'm single older lady… Read more · 1
(68) with no way of moving it myself! I mean really? I had to nearly arm wrestle him to take it through my small duplex & out the back sliding doors I had both sliders open to make it easy for him, which opened out right next to my laundry. Again, unthinking or caring, he dumps it on the step of my laundry, told me he had to go and left! So I was the silly mug who had to try get it up onto the step into the small space for a washing machine. There was only just a few millimetres each side once placed! Phew! A struggle as a very heavy machine. But once set it it's worked perfectly on all cycles! Couldn't be happier with it even after buying it in August 2023. Best front load washing machine ever! Kmart Anko has been a very good brand to me! Very Impressed with any items I have bought from Kmart by Anko!
The worst online buying experience ever – So Kmart sells these items and asks customers to pay $50 for "home" delivery in metro areas. But the problem is the carrier company they're working with actually not delivering items to homes but can leave them on your pathway, or the entrance of your apartment. I'm living in an apartment in one of the Sydney metro areas which have pretty usual… Read more
facilities for carrier and removal trucks to come and go, so there isn't any accessibility issue in the place. So in the morning time, the Kmart carrier brought my washing machine and dryer to the entrance of the building and told me that they can't bring items into my unit.
I'm living on the first floor, and the machine I bought is 70 kgs.
I just didn't understand and wanted to check with the courier about how on earth I can carry a full-size washing machine myself to the first floor? But the courier didn't care and left me with my brand new white goods in the rain at the entrance of my apartment. I've called the courier support line, and they told me that their agent did the right thing and Kmart is aware of the situation.
I had to leave my items unattended and tried to reach the Kmart support system but it redirected to me an SMS channel. On this channel, you can't talk with an agent in real-time but they're replying to your messages. I've explained my situation and waited for an answer, sent follow up messages again and again while my goods were still at the entrance unattended. In the end, after 6 hours, Kmart support replied to my messages and told me that I should call the Kmart support line again. I did call them again and explained my situation to the support agent. First, the agent told me that this is a normal procedure and I should have made the arrangement in the first place for carrying 70kgs of machinery upstairs myself but not the courier company. And he sent me the Kmarts home delivery policy website via SMS. I've read all of it. But In that policy, it's never mentioned about the part that customers should have the responsibility for carrying items between the street and their home. So I really don't know what the support agent was talking about there.
So please be careful if you're living in an apartment unit, or a house with stairs at the entrance, it's because the couriers they're working with are just leaving the items on the street and saying they can't deliver things inside your house/unit and then basically leaving you there, on the street with your brand new white good(s).
I wish at least they could let people grab their items from the Kmart warehouse and we could handle logistics ourselves. I've spent $130 for them to carry items from Eastern Creek to Campsie, and the "courier" company just left items on the street while raining. And unfortunately, Kmart support couldn't do anything rather than saying I should have done the arrangement myself. I could have done a better job than this experience for that money.
This is my personal opinion; Kmart could be a good company for cheap water kettles etc, but don't expect them to provide you with a nice experience when buying white goods online, and be prepared about anything from every part of the journey. Kmart is just not an online shopping company. And don't understand the fundamentals of doing online business. This is my 2 cents after spending ~$1200 on their white goods products.
Please do yourself a favour; be aware and stay away from Kmart for white goods, the entire experience is pretty bad, and you need to be really patient with the annoying courier and Kmart support agents expecting you to lift 70 kgs of machinery.
