Only did 3/4 of the job. Do not recommend for wild mushrooms

I bought this specifically to dehydrate my chilies, first lot I was wary so used a lower temperature for 8 hours, the chilies were sliced into smaller pieces, they dried but not enough to make flakes. Second lot were better, slightly higher temperature and longer drying time did the trick. Next I have some long reds which I want to dry whole, not sure how it will go. I would urge people to experiment with drying times and temperatures. All in all for the price this is an excellent 'starter' dehydrator and for the price, can't be beaten

Bigger than I expected – Love this so much however it’s physically way bigger than I had anticipated. I was expecting the Aldi size and it’s significantly bigger - check the dimensions before buying. But it does a good job - I buy a few packets of oranges and dehydrate them for 26 hours and give them to friends for Christmas. Dehydrated citrus from the store is expensive so you make your money back within 2 goes.

Set and leave Food dehydrator Kmart – Right so after many tries this is my final decision ... the product does not perform at all to the my expectations.. i let it run for 14 hours on the maximum temperature provided and the food had still to be frozen ... it just does not dry it .. i used all the trays plus maximum temp and not not good enough ... i retuned the product >>>> SO CONCLUSION IS DO NOT BUY IT ...i have left the previous review so you can folloow where i was goin with this food dehydrator from Kmart the Anko food dehydrator ...Sorry guys .... spend more get a better product we bought this as an experiment so we can start doing dog food like dog jerky and meat straps ... boy we had all 5 layers filled and it did take 10 hours to do the whole process and it did work just i have nothing to compare it with to say if it is brilliant or just okay ... it worked and did do the job as expected .. now i did load it with chick strips beef strips plus home made turkey straps and mate the proof is in my dogs mouth .. she loves it all ..is it convenient not sure on the cost factor of electricity BUT at least i know i made it is safe for my dog... easy to clean not too noisy and easy to use there is a recipe book included to help you
