Decent Surveillance Camera – I was about to purchase Tp link camera but then saw an add of Anko I was already sold to the fact that this little camera is a great notifier of excessive noise levels, it also has an advanced night vision that allows you to keep an eye on any room, even in low light. Something that we are looking for. Only issue I had was the USB cable was defective, but I was able to buy a replacement so all good. Show details ·  1

Good little security camera – I really like this camera. It's simple and doesn't come with all the bells and whistles, but does what it's suppose to do. Really like the motion sensore because if it detects motion, it'll screenshot it for you and alert you it's detected movement. It works overall though sometimes the app talk function messes up. Show details ·  1

Kmart Anko (Mirabella Genio) Wifi Security Camera Jan 2021 – This is the newer model SKU : P_42988274 (see attached pictures). 8 January 2021 - Anko (or Mirabella Genio brand) Full HD Wi-fi indoor camera Model E95A. This appears to be a rebadged Tuya brand camera. Connection The camera can only be controlled from either an Android or Apple device. There is no PC desktop version of software to operate… Read more

the camera. The instructions are easy to follow - I tested it on both Android and Apple phones.

This is a 2.4GHz wi-fi only camera (it does not work with 5GHz wi-fi), that is, there is no network port (where you would plug in a blue cable) on the device. You need at least 60% wi-fi strength (which is shown at the top right of the app) at all times to have a reliable connection.

The camera is powered by a 5v 1A power supply. The power socket has the same connector as a micro USB phone charger. The fixed cable on the power supply is quite short at approx. 1m long. If you need a longer cable Kmart sells 3m and 2m micro USB to USB cables for around $6 and USB wall plugs 5v 1A for $10. Alternately you could plug the camera into a USB port on a wall plate to eliminate the need for a power supply.

Works with Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa - tested with a Google Home - easy to set up and clear instructions. With Google Assistance you can say “Hey Google show me the kitchen stream”.

Recording The 100 degree wide angle lense can easily span the width of the room. I found that placing the camera high (eg on top of an airconditioner or kitchen cupboard) works really well.

You must install a memory card to record video or still pictures. Snapshots and video footage can then be easily saved to a phone or tablet. The camera supports micro SD memory cards up to 128Gb - tested with a Sandisk Extreme 64Gb Class 10 card. Insert the card, it will detect the new card and ask if you want to format. Video footage can be saved via the “replay” menu. Move the cursor to the starting time/date, press “record” and the video will be exported as an MP4 file to your phone. A two minute video at 1920x1080 is approximately 18Mb. Video recording is available in two modes: continuous and event recordings. In event recording, once the camera is activated the camera will record for a fixed duration. A 64Gb card will save continuous footage for 6 days.

Daylight colour saturation is good (be careful to avoid placing it too close to a ceiling light as it maybe too bright. With the lights completely off in the kitchen and dining room the picture was very clear.

Remote access Watch live video on your phone or tablet. No additional configuration is required to view your home cameras when you aren't at home. Run the app as normal and it connects to your cameras. You can install the app on multiple phones/tablets – log in using the same user name and password. Once first instance of the app and configured cameras is completed, it does not need to be repeated for each additional phone/tablet.

Two-way audio between smartphone and camera. I tested it and it works - not the clearest audio but it works for short conversations. Remote listening is quite usable too. Unfortunately, there is no way to control the volume of the speaker or an on/off setting for the microphone in the camera.

Motion detection with activity zoning and auto-tracking. As you walk around the room and speak the camera will automatically rotate towards your voice. This feature can be turned off also.

Notifications The movement alarm works well. If using an Android device you can set up notifications as part of the sleep setting. The app also has a schedule feature where you can turn the camera on and off at specific times/day.

Desktop App There is no desktop PC app mentioned and there are no instructions to set up the camera with ONVIF or as an IP camera. The manual recommends that an Android Emulator is installed on a PC with the Mirabella App.

Private Mode The Private Mode turns the camera off.

Mount The camera has rubber feet on the bottom. The camera has a standard 3/8 inch tripod threaded mount on the bottom. You can buy mounting brackets on ebay so the camera could be mounted at different angles.

Support Support for the camera is available from https://mirabellagenio.net.au/

Reference Tuya E95A camera (see specifications in attached image). https://expo.tuya.com/product/339127. You may be able to use the Tuya app to operate the camera too.

Recommendation There are a number of different types of surveillance cameras eg Arlo, Eufy, Foscam, Swan, Amcrest. Some will work with PC-based Blueiris and ispyconnect software. Wired cameras provide the advantage that you dont need to charge the batteries but to do this for outdoor cameras you need to run wires. Using battery based cameras while convenient to install, also present a maintenance problem of having to remove and charge the batteries.

This Kmart / Mirabella Genio camera is specifically set up to run on Android and Apple cameras and tablets. The Mirabella app doesn’t provide the level of control found on the professional apps but it is more than acceptable for the home user and best of all, it is very simple and quick to set up.

Another advantage of the Genio software is that you can easily add cameras and other smart devices and operate through the app.
