Can't update firmware – The TV is fine so far but I can't update and download firmware with exact match for this model number and Netflix will no longer work. I would like to be able to keep the TV.
So many problems - smart TV that is not so smart – Bought and used this TV for 1.5 year. I have had so many little issues since beginning. 1. you can't use this TV if you loose remote controller. You can't find any compatible controller. 2. Built in Netflix app is not working or ask you to login every 2 days. I had to remove and reset the app 200 times but having same issue. 3. HDMI port is not… Read more
working - I tried factory reset 50 times. still not working. 4. Kogan TV is simply total waste of money (cheap Chinese made). Better to buy more reliable brand.
Disappointing – Sound and colour is very average Have continued to play around and setup on many different without any luck. Freeview replays etc are very blurry even though internet is good quality. and I have no issues with my other Smart TV. I quess you get what you pay for. Show details

Don't buy. Not worth it – Ok I've had the television a week. I opened the box 5 days ago. I followed all the instructions in setting up. Worked ok first night for 2 hours. After that is when it got interesting. It started turning itself off initially after 1 hour. Only way to turn back on is to switch off at wall. Next few days got worse until the last time was about 15… Read more
minutes. It then just randomly displayed different solid colours on a rotating basis. I've contacted the help desk. The remedy that they offered I followed again but to no avail. It just is a dud. Last email I got from them said they would replace the unit if it is found faulty. I said no thanks. I'm entitled to a full refund under consumer law. I didn't damage it neither did the transport company. No damage to the box. I don't want another one to end up the same. I've read the reviews on here and can confirm that they're not worth it. Ok it's only 430 dollars but to me it's still a chunk of money and I dont have a working tv. I know that kogan will reply to this in exactly the same computer generated response that they always give. I'm disappointed but a lesson learned. I'd rather try my luck with Big W or KMart. At least they'll return something. Poor customer service.

Dumb TV Kogan Crap – Within a week of having this TV, I knew it wasnt gonna be my friend. This model is the DUMBEST so called Smart TV on the market. I've had endless problems with the functions and settings that should be USER FRIENDLY considering it is a SMART TV. I've not been able to find any aftersale help nor technical support from Kogan or online. Because I… Read more
gave away my Changhong TV, Ive had to put up with this useless Kogan crap that has been a nothing but total pain in the neck. Ive had to hook up my Smart Samsung Bluray Player so I can watch Netflix unintrupted cause the app installed on the TV doesnt always work, plus the TV shuts down every day, sometimes up to 5 times a day. The wifi turns off randomly, but Netflix, Youtube and Freeview randomly fail to work even when the wifi is showing connected. I have to factory reset every other day to get the apps to work. The ports are rediculous and not standard ease of use without having to go out and buy connectors and converter boxes.. It is CRAP!!! I actually say regularly out loud "I HATE MY TV" The sound plugs into the headphone port via 3.5 Jack. No optical port.

Great TV – Great TV for price. My first 4k TV so it took a bit of fiddling with settings to turn the 4k on and get set up, but otherwise pretty user friendly. Only downside is the terrible sound quality. Sound has too much Bass and can distort and the upper levels are tinny. Purchased a decent soundbar and now I have no issues whatsoever. Great TV but definitely have or plan to get a soundbar or other sound system. Show details
Unwatchable – The Series 8 MU8010 smart TV is advertised as 4k but its does not look like it is, the blues are washed out and solid, oranges and reds blend and bleed. Apple TV video stalls and is unwatchable, have connected same Apple device to my other Samsung TV and its works perfectly. Audio is horrible and tinny sounding. This is a very poor quality TV and… Read more

Kogan TV KALED43MU8010SZA - Bad TV, Bad Customer service – Bought a KOGAN TV online in November 2018. It is now May 2019. Had been happily using it with no problems until 3 days ago. think this TV will heal itself if I just leave it. I'm out of options for a cost free solution. I was sceptical about buying online from a large online company but thought I’d give it a go. I won't do it again, especially from KOGAN. They seem to want to keep their anonymity so they don't have to deal with customers after the sale. I hope they may look at their current business model and consider the customer. If you are listening KOGAN then hear this: Customers remain customers until they go somewhere else. If you want return business or an ongoing happy customer base, you will spend some time and some of your profits to treat your customers properly. Make it easier to talk to you. It’s amazing what some communication can do. Bye forever KOGAN and I would expect that if anyone asks me to give them my opinion of KOGAN I will happily and freely tell them what I think. Drew

Great for the cost – Not much to say on this. Its a great tv for the price. Light bleed is very minimal and the image quality is top notch. Not amazing in very fast paced action scenes but then my 2018 sony tv doesn't do too well in that regards either, and that cost $2000 more! Sound quality is lackluster but it's nothing a cheap soundbar won't fix. Show details
More bang for you buck – More bang for you buck Bought this TV in 2018 for $600, was a bit worried about the quality as I was more into high end TVs, however it is still looks great given its low price. The picture quality is good, no complaints. Sounds OK but not awesome, you can add a soundbar if audio quality is a concern. Has enough inputs for my needs. Overall, a good TV that is worth your money, no bells or whistles though. Show details
This TV has been great for the price – - Sound wasn't very good but when you're buying a 55+ inch TV you do go and buy a sound system also - HDR feature was detected by my PS4 and games look great - Slow operating system for freeview and youtube but I use Apple TV anyway. - 6 star energy rating for 55 inch which is rare for a TV that size as most are 4.5 to 5 stars only. - 6 months… Read more
ago I was very happy with my purchase price at the time from Kogan of $550 including delivery. I see it's currently at $759 plus delivery on Kogan and I think that's overpriced (for the 55 inch model)
Great TV despite bad reviews! – We purchased a refurbished 55" MU8010, I completely forgot to read reviews before clicking purchase but I'm glad I didn't as it's actually a pretty good quality TV for the price. The sound is the worst part of it, if you buy this TV; speakers are a must. When loading videos, the audio crackles even with speakers in but once it's all loaded it's… Read more
perfectly fine. I had to tweak the picture settings to my own preference, which is fine. After putting on a 4k video, the picture quality is actually really good, the colours could be a little more vibrant and the brightness could be up but if you're okay with a TV which DOES have slightly vibrant but only slightly darker colours, this TV is fine. The menu is also not that great, as you can't change any settings while in any apps, it has to be on the home screen, which is just static unless you have an aerial plugged in. I was a bit worried that kogan use allied express, after reading reviews and seeing as people's items were getting stolen, but they delivered 3 days after shipped with no problem except that the tracking wasn't accurate. 8/10, I would definitely purchase this or any other kogan TV again despite bad reviews.
DO NOT BUY – Without a doubt the worst TV i've ever bought. I used it a lot for gaming and for the it is OK (at best). The colours and contrast are not great but they're not an eyesore. However HDR does not work as it turns the screen yellow which was disappointing as it was the main reason i purchased this tv. Where it gets really bad is when you use it for… Read more
anything but gaming. Watching movies is a chore due to the yellowish tinge every semi-bright scene seems to have. Darker colours are extremely fuzzy. The worst aspect of it however is watching sport. The colour is washed out and again has an unpleasent yellow tinge. Movements are extremely blurred and the resolution is appalling. I haven't even mentioned the fact that the tv occasionally goes black at random times. At the end of the day you get what you pay for and i was dumb enough to think you could get a good quality 4k tv for less than $400. I have since bought an 4k LG tv and the difference is astounding. If you are on a small budget get a 1080p instead of getting a bottom of the barrell 4k tv.

Product as bad as service – Misleading product description (may possibly be illegal) Unboxed to find out that the picture quality was worse than my 6 year old non hd tv. Tv also freezes. Informed their customer service within an hour of receiving the product to refund and it’s been a battle ever since. Dont not buy! Unable to Wall Mount this boat anchor...!!! – Got the TV within 4 days of ordering it and thought, awesome service.. That's where the joy ended. Kogan, this TV is poor and is NOT what was advertised. Do not buy this TV! In fact don't ever buy anything from Kogan unless you want to be scammed with cheap rubbish that breaks within weeks of purchase. I'm finished with this online scamming machine.
I have been emailing back and forward trying to get this resolved but now silence from Kogan. I want a refund on this product.
Complete waste of space and money – Don’t waste your money. TV has to be restarted every time you use it as the internet continuously disconnects and won’t reconnect unless you restart. Can’t download Netflix, constantly freezing up and takes forever to start back up. By far the worst tv I’ve ever owned I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. Show details
Wish I read these reviews before purchasing – On the main page of the website I purchased from, all reviews had 4+ stars which I now believe to be fake. wasted $500 for nothing. This is false advertising at its finest. This is a 1080p TV.
I will continue to try 4K with other applications.
Great... to an extent – - Bought this TV mainly for gaming. Picture looks great in 4K, apart from deep blues, they display way too saturated and pixelated and I cant see anything in that blue area. Tried everything in the settings to fix this yet nothing works. - On board You-Tube sucks too, super slow and freaks out when you send a video to play from your phone.… Read more
Restored to doing everything through the Xbox.
- I was aware that the HDR wouldn't work for gaming, even though my console says it does and with HDR enabled it looks great on the home screen but as soon as I start up a game, the picture becomes warm, washed out and the reds turn orange. However, even on the IN-BUILT Netflix app, HDR doesn't work either (does the above) so I've come to the conclusion that HDR doesn't work AT ALL on this TV, even though its stated to be a HDR TV. Thanks. Within 2 weeks of owning this TV, the Power Power Supply Board and the Main Power Supply Board fried (as told by the technicians). They held my TV for over a month in repair, no compensation at all for those 5 weeks.
Ok as 2nd TV, but don't buy as your main TV – The higher ratings reviews you see around for this TV is for people who are using a TV for gaming coz the quality through the HDMi port is pretty good. However the free to air quality is grainy as you will read in other reviews, it must have something to do with the quality of the tuner circuit coz via HDMI eg Xbox Plex the screen is ok. have another TV which i compared the aerial, this TV has bad free to air).
The EPG is stupidly laid out the channels are down the left column and what's on the channel on the right so you have to move down each channel what for the info to load to see what's on that channel before moving down to the next channel.
It does have Freeview plus which is much better than the EPG.
Using just the channel down/up button on the remote too fast or holding it down creates backlog of presses and it keeps scrolling up and down channels after you've taken you finger off the button which is quiet annoying.
Sound is not amazing but it's not terrible (I bought an ALDI tv once which had really bad sound).
I don't ever buy a TV for its 'smart' capabilities no matter what TV you buy trying to do computer type things with a remote control sucks, you can't beat Chromecast + smart phone.
Product NOT as advertised – To say I am disappointed with KOGAN in this instance would be a huge understatement. specifications and as this was to be purchased specifically for gaming, and did not see a disclaimer anywhere. However, it seems there was one, way down the bottom, hidden amongst the big claims of what the telly WOULD do. HDR does not support gaming. Given that the latest model consoles are specifically built for this makes this statement a right joke. (oh yes, did I mention that once my first complaint was made, the company had a fire sale on this item for $399 to clear the warehouse?)
To give KOGAN the benefit of the doubt though, even if the disclaimer was on there, KOGAN STILL should NOT be advertising this TV with "4K HDR" front and centre in large print with NO DISCLAIMER. In any case, it certainly does not say that "4K" is not available. The Xbox One X couldn't even export at 4K to this TV as It was capped at 1080p. (It does to our other 4K Kogan TV purchased through Dick Smith.)
Best case scenario for KOGAN, it is extremely misleading advertising, worst case scenario it is false advertising because it definitely doesn't say that 4K won't work, which it did NOT. SO we have paid this company an absurd amount of money for a standard run of the mill cheap arse television.
Oh yes, we can send it back for a refund, provided we pay the couple of hundred dollars in postage costs.
The fact too, that we CANNOT speak to a human being from KOGAN to sort this matter out is absolutely unacceptable.
We have referred this matter to the ACCC, and will be flagging with our MP.

Raised an RA ticket with Kogan via email...
Kogan had no idea of the product or read my fault description of the issue., I ran through their check list & 80% of the troubleshooting required the TV to be powered on with a picture" "my TV will not turn on!. (They even wanted me to try & update the firmware)
The troubleshooting had no effect & I was able to get an RA# & they arranged Allied Express to pick up the TV.
However I did advise Kogan that I did not have the original packaging.
Kogan Confirmation: Original Box not required.
(Though we normally prefer that your product is returned in its original packaging, we understand that sometimes this is not always feasible.
As this collection will be handled by Allied Express, they do require that items traveling with them are packaged suitably for protection during transit.
Any packaging that is used should provide sufficient protection to ensure that damage is not sustained while travelling to us. "Kogan accepts no liability for any damage that may occur in transit."
The following link contains some information on how to best package a TV:
https://www.kogan.com/au/help/how-to-package-a-tv-for-return/)
TV was packaged as per spec cost $60 bunnings
Allied expressed picked up TV, 19/9 & confirmed packaging was superb by the courier.
NOTE: Take pics of your packaging!!! ***a must***
1/10 sent email notification to Kogan for an update
2/10 email reply back from Kogan
"Hi
I am just following up on this case for you as additional information has been provided to us per the technicians' initial assessments.
Unfortunately, the technician has found that your TV has been damaged in transit on the way to the technicians.
Upon their initial assessment of the unit, the technician noted that the TV was poorly packaged and it was not returned in its original box.
As previously conveyed in an email sent by my colleague Ritzie on the 17th of September, if you do not have the original packaging, Kogan accepts no liability for any damage that may occur in transit.
The technician has also specifically noted that the TV was not sufficiently packed on the inside of the box, with necessary padding material to protect the screen of the TV.
They found that it was simply wrapped in bubble wrap, which could not offer sufficient protection for the TV.
As a result, they have found that the screen is damaged beyond repair.
Please refer to the attached photographs that were taken by the technicians.
Unfortunately, as a result of the damage that the TV has sustained in transit, we are unable to proceed under warranty.
Moving forward, I am happy to have the TV stripped for parts - for which we can provide you with an account credit to the value of $190.00.
This credit will be applied to your Kogan.com account and may be used for any future purchase.
Please get back to me if you are happy to proceed with an account credit and I'll be happy to arrange this for you as soon as possible.
Kindest regards,
Customer Care Team"
Sigh...
The pics of a cracked screen & poor packaging attached to their response above was not the packaging I sent, & I have no proof to verify their claims & I will not point the finger at the reputable courier company.
Therefore "I Own it" & I have requested a cash refund not a Kogan credit & advise them I do not want to purchase any product from Kogan.
Lesson learnt!
Keep all packaging folks & rethink purchasing extended warranties & fingers crossed.
P.S Cash refund TBA
NOT WORTH IT – Kogan 43" Smart HDR 4K LED TV (Series 8 MU8010) Truly not worth spending $400 (Aus dollars) for it. I'd have rather save a bit more money and buy a better TV. Cheap, big TV – This TV has a lot of features - it is big and light, and has dedicated buttons for Netflix and Youtube, plus it has its own casting functionality; but it keeps hanging whilst using online features, and the only way to fix it is to switch it off and on at the powerpoint. in the room next door works fine. Also some of the channels are grainy, which also isn't the case for our TV in the room next door, literally 2 metres away. And the HDMI 2 port doesn't appear to work either (but 1 and 3 work, and that's all we need).
We bought the TV for my 14yo son and he mostly just wants it for his playstation so it's fine for that purpose; I doubt he'll ever watch commercial TV on it, and he'll just put up with the smart TV glitches. I understand that you get what you pay for, but I did hope that since this was a brand new model that it might actually work with no glitches.
VERY good value for money! – This unit is very impressive when you consider it comes in at half the price of its ‘big brothers’. Grainy image quality with free to air digital channels but very nice with all the HD suite. A quick google search will help with tuning picture quality (one of the whirlpool forums has some presets) and TV looks a treat.
Considering we picked it up delivered for <$500, this is a very good TV.
If you’re realistic with yourself, you’ll be very impressed with the quality of this unit.

sometimes freezes at the start of YouTube ads. I managed to solve the problem by inputting an adblock DNS on my router.
I can confirm the speakers crackling at the start of a video but the crackling goes away pretty fast.
I noticed the customer support were not at all informed of the products they are selling. Kogan's support told me (multiple times) that there's an OFF switch on the TV itself. Thorough inspection of the TV proved this false. I informed them about this multiple times, but they ignored it. You can check for yourself and see if the model KALED49MU8010SZA has an OFF switch on the TV itself.
Kogan's customer support do not read emails in their entirety. I sent them an email telling them that I have managed to solve a problem with the TV, but now I wanted warranty information. They responded "That's great that you have managed to solve the problem with the TV" but they did not respond to the warranty question. Being fair, they did respond to the question when I brought it up again.
In short; I do not completely regret the purchase, but I would only recommend this TV to someone who has a reasonable level of tech skills to solve the problems that the TV comes with. I gave the TV 3 stars because I only paid (including delivery) $575.79 for it. I went into a local store and looked at a 49" Panasonic and it's price tag was around $1500 and it didn't even have Smart TV.
Price matters and for that reason I will shop at Kogan again.
11/11/18 Edited: I added 1 star to the review. After some period of time the TV stopped having the problem of freezing on YouTube. Which is great. I don't know why after some months the TV started to work properly...

Does what it is supposed to – Really great TV but sometimes the 'smart' aspect of the television is not actually very smart. Not great – I wasn't expecting much when i bought this. Firstly i bought this mainly to use with my computer setup, at 1080p thru hdmi i could not turn off the overscan which meant i could only see half of my taskbar on Microsoft Windows which made navigation fairly difficult but the image scaled properly in 4k (3840×2160). colors were pretty good but watching tv thru the inbuilt tuner the color felt very bland.
When it came to gaming thru a pc make sure you go into the tv settings and change the hdmi settings from 2k to 4k to unlock the 4k 60hz otherwise it will be stuck on 30hz which would only give 30fps, the input lag wasn't too bad as I've seen some TVs make games very difficult to play, this was in acceptable limits. The 9ms response time on led pixels could be a bit better as fast motion images can tend to look a bit blurry.
Now when it comes to HDR this feature is 100% useless, once turned on the image becomes absolutely disgusting. It looks like the image is almost polarized, the whites become a dark grey and the dark areas become bright grey, it just becomes a grey mess with some faded colors thrown in.
Audio quality was a little better than expected, not as tinny as i thought it would be so I'd say it's acceptable for the price.
I haven't gotten to the smart features yet so can't comment on that but catchup tv seems very very basic and missing most channels
All in all I'd say the tv is not worth it, i bought the tv at the promotional price of $559 and it's barely worth that and at the new price of $699 its a very bad deal. The HDR is useless the LED response time is a little too high so fast motion is a bit blurry, the tuner has horrible color
Your better off buying the cheaper non smart non HDR model
Washed out colour terrible sound – Pretty underwhelmed. First 4K tv and the colours are very washed out.
