Don’t buy Kogan Electronic equipment - TV’s – I have purchased 2 Kogan TV’s in the last 41 months. Both have broken and Kogan won’t fix it. Seems their products are made to break just after warranty period. Never again.
Do not upgrade this TV from Android 9 to 11 – Lack of storage in this TV has haunted me since day 1. I checked today to see if a system update was available - surprise surprise there was an Android 11 upgrade from Android 9 (after all KOGAN recommends that all offered upgrades be taken) , after doing this and reinstalling all the apps I used previously I now have quite a lot of free storage… Read more
(I think there was a bug in android 9 that had marked some of storage in use and never released it properly. However I am presented with new problems since upgrade to Android 11. 1. It is much slower generally navigating menus and launching apps, 2. HBBTV functionality no longer works (my other Android 8 TV is fine as was Android 9 prior on this TV) 3. Accessing a networked windows 11 shared folder (Photos, music and movies) now does not work - I have no reason to suspect the VLC app I use as the other Android 8 TV is fine with same VLC version . So in my mind it is an Android 11 issue. 4. And to top things off - the buttons on the remote are failing
I have done the usual configuration checks and a full factory reset twice and still the issues persist.
I have a 3 year warranty (purchased 30/9/2020) but I am unclear if I can roll back to Android 9 but this is the only solution I can see available to me. I doubt I will be able to explain to KOGAN support and get traction on the issues let alone being able to talk technical with a support person.
I have had experience with Android devices since the very early days of smart phones and tablets but this implementation in this TV leaves me wondering about Google and accreditation for this manufacturer.
I wish I had noticed the limited storage (4 Gig) in this TV when I purchased it - my Android 8 43" TV has what appears to be 12 Gig. Would I recommend this TV if it was still available - NO
I hope this helps some one if they too run into these issues on the upgrade to 11.

Don't buy!!!! – I am a pensioner and our television lasted 14 months then started getting horizontal lines appearing from the top of the screen. Then these got worse. Three weeks later the sound wasn't always working. The screen would turn black and the tv would power off. We turned the television back on. Okay for 30 mins to 1 hr. Then kaput!!! I bought the… Read more
option 3 year Extended Care Warranty when I purchased the tv (through a different company from Kogan) Thank goodness I did. I didn't expect my $500 tv to stop working when it was just over a year old. I have old 16-year-old televisions that I am now using with a Fetch Box that are better quality in audio and picture quality. I bought the Fetch Box after the Kogan TV broke down as we cannot get antenna tv (free to air) due to poor reception.
It took me 5 weeks to finally get the tv picked up. It is now at the ONLY company that fixes the tv.
I might add my adult children bought Kogan TVs and the models they bought have worked well. That is why we purchased from Kogan.
I would not recommend buying a television from Kogan unless you purchase the 3 Year Extended Care Warranty in case your television is a lemon - which we got!!!!

Seems great for the price, hope it lasts! – I bought this for the family room and was pleasantly suprised enough to order another to replace the old plasma in the lounge. Picture and sound seem great for the price point. The Android OS synched with my phone to set WiFi and Netflix without any intervention on my part. Google assistant was a bit of a pain to set up but works fine now it is.… Read more · 1
Remote takes a bit of getting used to, but I'm not seeing the significant lag mentioned in other rooms. I hope I'm still happy in 6 months!
What you would expect from a cheap TV – I've had this TV for over a year and had no real issues. Surprised to read the other reviews. Yes, the OS is a bit slow, picture is .. ok, sound is .. ok but for the money think it's been good. Show details
Garbage TV. DO NOT buy Kogan – I paid damn near $700 for this TV and it's given me nothing but headaches. Like the other review stated, the remote control works... 2 minutes after you press the button. The TV will constantly lag/buffer, changing the volume is damn near impossible because it breaks the TV's computing power. If I press the power button on the remote, it'll take… Read more
action 60 seconds later, then CONTINUE to play stuttered audio after the screen is turned off.
You want to know what Kogan's support for this is? Unplug the TV and plug it back in... garbage. This should be on par with stealing my money. I bought this in October 2020 and it worked for maybe 6 months. Ever since then, it's gone to bad.
This is what you get when you buy budget technology. I should've seen it coming, honestly. That's on me. Would love to get my money back but I doubt that's a possibility.
Total crap!! – Purchased this TV just over 12 months ago, I've had nothing but issues with it, it turns itself on in the middle of the night scaring me, I've come home from work and it's on, it lags badly with every remote control command, it looses Chanel's then suddenly appears again, my remote as of today has completed stopped working even with new batteries… Read more
and now it won't let me change the channel manually! Worst frustration ever, never again, wish I could get my money back

Good for its price, 4K and does the job with some caveat – Now I am googling how to update the System Software as the download keep failing regardless from Ethernet Cable or WIFI. Regarding Ronnie review, at least I know that I am not the only one. I thought my house was haunted, that the TV turn on by itself, start Netflix by itself. How scary that is! But for the price range, I can't complain more… Read more
about getting this TV. It does its job, I got 55", and I wish I have bought a bigger one back then. And I hope it last for a couple years.
Pros: - Big - Cheap - 4K - can be used as computer monitor - Ultra light
Cons: - Small Memory (8GB on TV - only 1.8GB left) - Can't install too much as the TV will run out of internal ram and sluggish, crashes. - Can turn on by itself and open Netflix as if a ghost operating the TV
After upgrade, the TV reset and must be re-setup. It seems running faster, hopefully it stays that way ;) - TV have much simpler one page menu - Operating faster - System still showing Update Available, but failed to download with cable or wifi - Latest Android still showing Mar 2020 patch :( HELP!
Should of read the reviews – Purchased this tv last year & should of read the reviews and not just trusted a friends word. This tv turns on by itself, in the middle of night and it’s loud. Scares me half to death. It’s slow, it freezes. Pretty much does everything opposite to what I want it to do! Upside is, wasn’t that expensive so if I end up throwing it out the window it won’t be a total loss. Show details

Rubbish – Won't play Streaming for more than an hour without interrupting, freezing, blocking or requiring a restart. Does not listen to its remote half of the time. Does not appear to have enough processing power to even manage its own internal functions, let alone play TV. Show details
