Kogan SmarterHome 4.1kW Portable Smart Air Conditioner

Works great but is noisy – I finally caved and bought this portable air conditioner for those unbearable 40 degree days. I was always on the fence with the portable units and didn’t really think that it would work but figured I could return it if it didn’t. I was blown away with how cold this unit actually gets! I use it in my open living area where it doesn’t so much keep the entire large room cool but works great when blowing directly on you as well as in my bedroom where it really excels at keeping the entire room cool (which makes sense as it’s a much smaller room which can be sealed off). I’ve had no issues connecting it to the smart app and I’m yet to have to empty the water tank (Kogan says only to hook it up to a bucket to drain if you are using the dehumidifier setting). The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is that it’s very noisy (but most portable units seem to be) so I do sleep with earplugs when I use it during the night. But on 40 degree days s nights when it’s keeping me, I honestly don’t care how noisy it is.

Cheap and nasty unit, noisy. Could not connect it with mobile app or Google Assistant – It does the job (warming and cooling) and that is why it gets 3 stars. However, it it quite noisy. It has a extremely small condensation tank which fills pretty quickly. I am using it with a 10 liters buckets so that it drips directly into it. I have followed instructions step by step but I could never connect it to the Kogan SmarterHome App. I have several IoT devices around the house so I normally do not have problems connecting them up and configuring them. This one, simply, never worked.
