Junk – Burned oil from day 1. Stalled out often. Hard to start. Radiator Finns were bent, headlight wasn't plugged in, bike didn't idle and frame scratched/gouged on brand new bike. Oil changes were a real pain. Having to strip the bike so it could be laid on it's side to fill oil filter reservoir before installing filter, and the oil needed to be… Read more

320hrs; 20,000km. Equal to any Ducati I've ever owned for the Most fun & amazing award – If you are a practical, sensible, obsessive compulsive individual; DO NOT BUY A KTM! If you love going faster than is sensible, doing wheelies in traffic & over rocks, logs, & playground equipment, & riding over small Volkswagens... all on a bike w/ an astounding power to weigh ratio- THIS IS THE BIKE FOR YOU! Premium components, requires high… Read more

maintenance, MUST follow service intervals... but the rewards when you ride it are golden!

610cc kit going in mine right now; it will be even more stupid & fun when it's done.

Good – Great bike for straight out of the box racing, Goes hard and pulls through all engine revs, has to be the best standard suspension on the market and you can feel every adjustment (even has fork spring preload adjustment). Ergo's are fantastic you'll never feel uncomfortable on it. Price is the same as all the competitors, Not recommended for first… Read more

timers or amateurs (it will hurt you). Powerful engine, 6 speed, low center of gravity, excellent brakes, Suspension fully adjustable. Blew mine up with 39hrs and 1600klm's on the clock very disappointed (apparently a balls up from factory, KTM AUSTRALIA fixed under warranty even though it was 8 months old). Eats tires like lollies, stretches chains every ride Fork protectors have to be cut to remove or your in for a serious operation, Higher maintenance than other brands, BE CAREFUL WHO YOU BUY IT FROM!!!!! I bought from a major bike chain in Australia and the service SUCKED, Deal with KTM direct.

Awesome Machine! – This is an awesome bit of gear!! Have been riding for over 30yrs (im now 39) and always owned 2 strokes. In recent years i have ridden and owned wr450, crf450. Got on a mates ktm450 exc 2004 recently and [dcensored word removed] me! What a machine that was! Convinced me to go ktm, hence my 2011 ktm530 exc-r. This thing has the power of a freight… Read more

train with the handling and braking beyond previously owned bikes. It is a well balanced bike great for all styles of riding, weighing 113kgs it is still easy enough to control on those tight single trails, but this comes into its own on those 80-120 km/h sections of fast flowing enduro trails which have unexpected bits of terrain which jump out in front of you! I could go on and on all day about this bike, but to find out for yourself you need to get on one! I purchased mine from coastal ktm west gosford a few months ago now, i did have some starting issues right from the start, contacted deb and phil at coastal ktm and these guys couldnt get there hands on my girl quick enough to sort out this problem, thanks guys!!! Service at coastal ktm is as awesome as the bike itself. Get rid of your honda, yamaha or what ever you have and get a ktm! You will be as convinced as i am!

Starting issues when cold from new, ended up being an automatic decompression issue. Fixed as soon as i contacted coastal ktm under warranty. No other problems.

needs to be replaced stock is to weak. Turn signal melted from exhaust.Neeed to buy a pipe guard so you dont melt your pants or burn your leg. Numerous engeine problems and carb problems. KTM flew out a mechanic to fix it he did but I had no bike for a month they promised to kick me down some stuff for the problems I went through and I have not received a thing and never received any money back for the turn signal kit I had to buy $120.00. Well all I gotta say is that I will never buy a KTM again. Some parts are hard to get and lots of money. I just wish Honda would wake up and build a sick street legal bike the demand is there wake up guy's

Bad – it is not as bullet proof as the 525's i have had. It is good to ride better handling. more power than the 525 i bent the subframe, starer motor died and motor oil transfers to the gear box oil 150ml per 100km
