Do we have to do anything to waterproof the swag before its first use? I have heard people say they need to be conditioned

The canvas itself if waterproof, but because the canvas had been stitched you need to wet down the swag and let it dry a couple of times to allow the canvas and stitching to lock into each other. This is common with all canvas products that you want to waterproof.
