Kymco Downtown 350i
Excellent, and cheap to run
Very comfortable scooter. I commute 100km a day and it's been faultless.
Good torque, fast enough, decent storage.
I ride a mix of 50, 80 and 100km/h zones and on average do 3.4L/100km which is pretty decent!
Yes, the book says it needs service every 6 months but to be honest on a scooter it's about right if you do a fair bit of distance, otherwise service it every 5000km and check the oil regularly.
I reckon my next scooter will be a Kymco!

Bought my 350i a week ago and so far super impressed.
Great price, great finish waiting to see what the running, maintenance and reliability is like. Good value for money, super comfortable and quick enough. Fuel economy so far seems excellent.
Purchased in at Teammoto for $6,750.

Excellent buy, would buy same upgrade model in a year or so!
I bought my Kymco Downtown 350i just over 2 years ago, and very pleased with it's handling and performance. I bought it because it was on specifications just what I needed and could afford. Very happy overall; however when there is a part requiring replacement it can take a while. I'm fortunate that my mechanic always provides me with a suitable courtesy scooter while servicing or repairing mine, if that wasn't the case it could be very frustrating the long waiting to obtain spares. All in all, extremely happy with this purchase, and am already thinking of upgrading in the next year or so with an equivalent Kymco newer model.

Love my scooter
Had the Kymco Downtown 350i for about 14 months now and love it. Reliable and cheap to run, the bike has been faultless. Only downsides are cost of 6 monthly services which can run up to $500 and the availability of replacement parts, which seem to have to come from Taiwan.

Perfect, as the reviews claimed.
I bought the bike based purely on worldwide reviews, without ever seeing one! & by in large have been spot on.
A few minor points.
Squeaks in the plastic fairing come & go. Is this under warranty or lube remedy?
The side-stand engine kill switch is not helpful.
The center-stand foot lever is very close to the plastic belt housing & very susceptible to scratches from your boot when deploying the stand.
The single USB could've been a double, or better still, another under the seat...another mod. after warranty, I guess.
The bike is allegedly de...

Very good engine, but shocking waiting on parts!
1st of all it is very good maxi, but in terms of waiting for parts it's terrible!
I recently had an accident in March 2017 and have been waiting on Scootercentral to repair and instal parts for my Kymco 350i. I spoke to Murray from Scootercentral and he advised me that they are still waiting on parts and that was 3 weeks ago and I recently got call 1 and a half weeks later that there at shipping docks at Melbourne.
So this basically means it will be around a total of two and half months till I get back my Maxi back. The main reason for this l...
Read moreong wait is because they don't have any parts ready ever since this scooter was 1st brought to Australia which in my opinion that is very very [Word Removed] Anyway the scooter is excellent on the road, haven't done top speed yet, very good low end torque, comfortable on long rides, good three year warranty but I don't like the service intervals which 1000 kms 1st then it is every 6 months or 6 thousand kms, nice handling due to low centre of gravity, I had done 2500 kms on it before the accident and it gets better and better with each ride, it is a 321cc engine, 22 kws of power, got my partner to ride pillion and is very good on flat terrain. All in all the bike is cheap and very reliable! But be prepared to wait up 1 to 3 months for parts and plus Kymco HQ in Melbourne doesn't want to know you if you have problems with your Kymco bike/scooter and there is not Contact phone number nor a ABN of ACN on the website. This will be my 1st and last purchase of a Kymco due to this bad experience of getting parts just to repair my maxi.Questions & Answers
My kymco downtown 200i gives a friction sound with a pillion rider. Very noisy when reaches 120km/hr. Any ideas?
No, I'd only be guessing. Loose belt? Wheel bearing noise? Body plastics vibration? More information would be helpful for other advisers.
The friction sound only with a pillion rider. If no pillion rider no friction sound.
When speed reaches 120km/hr with or without pillion rider can feel the sound n vibration.
Are spare parts available?
It depends on what part, but 100% of the parts will need to wait for 6 weeks-6 months depending on the supplier. As bike stores will never ever supply them.
Kymco and communication with the dealer...
Read more and the supplier at 100% of the time you will be asked to wait that long and I'm still waiting for the two last parts for my Kymco and it's been since march since when I had my accident, but luckily these are fairing parts. Not parts that are essential while you still need to ride.I've just purchased one based on reviews only.(picking up next week, still haven't seen one yet).
Have I made the best value/looks/comfort/quality for money purchase?
Please don't say no.
Hi Stumpy,
Well just to give you a update it is a very a good maxi to ride, but how ever it has been nearly 4 months now since my accident and I still haven't recived my last three parts. ...
Read more Just make sure you don't have an accident or you might be waiting for a part that would take up to 4 months to get. I'm in the process of going through to NCAT which is a government consumer tribunal to see if I can get compensation for such a long wait on parts. All i can suggest mate is Dont crash! Whatever you do, because there Melbourne HQ will not have stored parts. They prefer you buy parts 1st from a dealership then you wait 4 weeks too 4 months so they can ship it in from Taiwan. The is maxi is very good all round, but I'll say NO to Kymco because they do not store parts in Australia and there Australian website does not have a ACN or ABN, no contact number for help only there useless email enquiry which does not work. They rather you speak to there dealerships which dealers don't have control when it comes to parts ordering (which means palming off the responsibilitys to dealers, rather then taking responsibilities themselves). Safe riding in the mean time and knock on wood don't crash!Get an answer from our members
