Negative reviewers, follow the instructions.... duh! – I've used these colours on and off for about 20 years in between salon colours. So long as you follow the instructions and put the colour in evenly and choose a colour 1-2 shades lighter that what you want to end up. It leaves you with thick shiny hair with no regrowth and is much bettter for your hair than permanent colours.
Awful – Really disappointed.. Previously I had blonde hair and later I dyed them to my natural color (similar to the one shown on the box). After summer, ends of my hair faded a little, so I wanted to give them similar color to my roots, I decided to dye them with 630 caramel.. The hair turned really really dark and extremely patchy, looks like a mess...Just after dying, I tried washing it couple of time with shampoo and really hot water, but it didn't help, it looks awful, I regret choosing this dye so much.. I ruined my hair.. The only comforting thing about this situation is that winter is coming soon and I will be able to hide my hair under the hat. I would never ever in my life purchase this product again or recommend it to someone else. I really hope that after 28 washes (probably more..) it will fade..
Waste of time – I agree, it was a complete waste of time. Made my hair feel so dry as well. Couldn't even tell that I put in a colour
Affordable Home Hairdressing – This Semi-Permanent shampoos out after 6 - 8 weeks, pending on how often you wash your hair it could be sooner than later. The depicted glossy photos are only an indication! Your real-life colour, hair and condition aren’t being used here? First timers may get different/better results to those of us who have been dying for years :) As found after washing my hair, residue was found on my (white) bathrobe; this is not permanent and washes out in your laundry :)
Being a natural light Brunette I stick to a colour range; 700Dark Blonde 645Amber 630Caramel and 600Light Brown with excellent results. I have not suffered any ill affects. If I leave the dye in longer than recommended my hair colour result is darker! You may have to experiment a little here for your desired colour affect. Please don’t wait until you have an important function to attend.
From my experimenting:
1. Apply to grey areas first if you desire an all round colour; wait 5 minutes and then do remaining hair with dye within the recommended time. The forehead area is always the first to get lightened by the Sun.
I prefer the natural highlights that occur.
2. For short length hair, extract only half the amount into a bowl and mix. The remaining mixture in the 2 tubes can be used later.
3. After copious amounts of hair products i.e. hairspray gels etc. Try a teaspoon of Bicarbonate of Soda with your shampoo to wash and rid your scalp of built up grunge. Rinse out thoroughly!
Use occasionally, only in the final week when your hair dye fades and needs redoing.
Note; this will dry your hair, so renourish it with a good Conditioner. It will also semi strip the remaining colour/dye from your hair.
4. Wipe of spills immediately with a damp cloth; staining can occur on some surfaces e.g. wood. There is no effect on skin.
5. Remember please; the time starts from the first drop
Excellent results here after years of use and experimenting with time and colours. Affordable home hairdressing
