Bought these in Woolworths for convenience. They are the worst tasting beans I've ever tried. When I opened the bag it wasn't pleasant they looked very dark & the smell was awful. I made a coffee & it was so disgusting I couldn't drink it. If I could give this zero stars I would. They are going in the bin. Very disappointed to have wasted my money. Only good thing was I bought 500grams & not 1kg. Show details

Crap & overated coffee beans – Overated coffee beans & very bland. I won't pay $5 a kilo. Even Victoria & Campos are rubbish. Your practically paying for the name. The best coffee is Merlo. Also segafredo Zanetti is also alright. Show details

Oily and bitter – I bought some Lavazza Grand Crema beans from the supermarket (first mistake), and was surprised to see how oily they were. I did my usual shot and found that the flavour and my usual grind size was way off. Tried a lot more shots with different grinds and processes and eventually just gave up. Couldn't get a good shot out of them. (I weigh… Read more

everything and use a 1:2 ratio, on both a Breville Barista Express and the Sunbeam Cafe Series EM7100). I then read up on how oily beans can mess up your grinder and machine - so I have thrown them out now! I only usually buy beans where I can read/understand the roast date on the packet, or from a roaster where I know that they are fresh. I went against my usual practices because they were 'Lavazza', but will never do that again. So beware of oily beans if you value your machine. It means that they have been roasted for a longer period of time. I like to experiment with many different things/machines to make a great coffee (it's my hobby) and after trying very hard to get a decent taste/shot out of them and being unsuccessful, I really wonder why anyone likes/prefers dark oily beans. Let alone what they can do to your grinders and machines.

Very oily beans - not good for coffee machines! – This product won a Canstar Blue award but the beans were practically dripping with oil and have clogged up my grinder and coffee machine. Has taken hours to clean and remove residue. Beware.
