Update: Lavazza refuses to tell me the proportions of Robusta versus Arabica in this coffee. That's idiocy, and merely means I'll now be telling every one of my coffee drinking friends to stay away from this product. It's like selling a "dairy" spread and not saying what proportion of it is oil. And I was wrong, it does say that it's Arabica/Robusta on the pack, but only in Polish sfaics. Good job their Oro brand is transparent. Original review: Really disappointed in this. Lavazza Espresso Intenso Barista. Nowhere on the pack does it say what type of beans, Arabica or otherwise. Weak and not strong flavour. Looks like a bulk cheap pack for second tier coffee shops
Major improvement on the old variety – Really good... And I used to hate the old Lavazza Espresso brand it replaced (it was ditched last year) . Slightly ahead of their Oro variety in intensity and different in flavour but maybe not as much as the ridiculous (9/10) intensity scale suggests. Beans allow/encourage quite a fine grind. A decent Espresso maker may be needed to get the best from them. Definitely one of the most complex supermarket coffee marques, and to my palette, noticeably better than similar respected brands.
Note this review is for the coffee beans. The picture shows pods, which may or may not be the same.
