DO NOT BUY LDV T60 MAX LUX – DO NOT BUY LDV T60 MAX LUX I strongly advise against purchasing this vehicle. While it’s priced attractively, the issues far outweigh any initial savings. Here’s my experience: Excessive Noise: The vehicle produces a loud, persistent noise from the gearbox or engine that makes it feel like you're driving a tractor. Despite leaving it at the… Read more

service center three separate times for a cumulative one month, the issue remains unresolved.

Costly Servicing with No Results: The service costs are high, and the level of customer care is appalling. They claim to focus on "vehicle safety," yet no meaningful action has been taken to address the noise issue.

Poor Customer Service: I met with the LDV general manager at the Chatswood branch, explained my concerns in detail, and followed up multiple times. Not only did nothing get resolved, but my calls were ignored afterward.

Vehicle Design Flaws: Certified LDV mechanics told me that the tendency of the car to pull left while driving is part of the vehicle's specifications. This makes no sense and is a major safety concern.

I’ve even tried involving my comprehensive insurance provider, but they informed me it’s an issue under warranty, leaving me with no other options. I’ve heard of others having similar issues, with one customer having their vehicle replaced after a prolonged argument. However, I simply don’t have the time or patience to go through such a draining process.

This vehicle has caused me endless frustration, wasted time, and unnecessary costs. If you value your time, money, and peace of mind, avoid LDV at all costs. Unless you're ready to spend countless hours at the service center with no resolution, this is NOT the car for you. email me for more details if you need, [Content Removed]

Awesome vehicle – We have had our LDV T60 since 2019 and it has 127000kms and haven't had any problems. We drive to Perth every 2 weeks with a round trip of 1000kms and often on hot days so air conditioner is a must and it works well Show details

You get what you pay for – Granted this thing was cheap. But not cheap enough to have expected how much of a lemon this thing is. With just over 62k on the clock, I've so far had - 4 Rust spots repaired, A full engine replacement (cause not fully explained by service centre), a chocolate chip cookie left in the engine bay after service, a further 5 rust spots coming… Read more

through the paintwork, the front grille is now degraded, and a service centre so completely full of it's own self importance that overcharges under-delivers and is suspicious of any fault brought to their attention that they cease to communicate with, or accept that the product they sold me is defective, and is slowly falling apart.

When the car had been dropped off to get its engine replaced, I informed the service centre of the rust issue. A month or so after getting the car back, I was asked to bring it in again to get the rust 'assessed'. Why it wasn't assessed while waiting for the part to arrive (2 months) is baffling. NEWSPOT and LDV care little post sales, and IMHO are cheats and liars.

I have been swindled by a group of con artists.

At all costs avoid LDV and avoid the Newspot car group in Adelaide.

Nothing good can come for your purchase unless you just want a [Content Removed]box to run into the ground.

Photos of current (Apr 2024) rust and grille degradation attached.

Almost lost my life, Never buy LDV again – I was a LDV G10 owner before. During 3 years, the quality was very good. Never had any issues except the 2 headlight bulbs and one fuse. Which are not big issues. So I bought T60 and sold the G10. From day 1, it has rust at some places. The left camera is installed opposite way. 360 camera quality is terrible. Head unit always reboot. is too loud when turn on the engine....All these things I can bear as the price is cheap compared with other cars. Then around 3 months ago, I found the front left trye is worned. So I changed 2 front tyres. After I changed them I found it was quiter than before. The rear 2 tyres are still OK. At least looks OK. Then 4 weeks ago. I was on my way to my job, it was raining. The speed limit is 80 and I drove carefully and under 80. I didn't turn cruise control on and didn't do other things like brake or use one hand to hold the wheel. The car suddenly lost control and turned 180. My driver side hit a tree and stopped at last. I don't know how it happens, someone said it was because the bad Dunlop tyres. But it was not my first time drive on the raining day with this car. I think the problem is the electric issues. The esp was turned off and also the airbags also didn't come out with a such huge impact. I am not an expert and I can't find someone to find out what cause the problems( on Facebook owner group, they all blame it is my fault but not the car fault. I told them I have driven cars at least 500,000kms with no fine and no accident at my fault, but they still said it was my fault). All I can do is just post it here and tell everyone my experience. If you don't want to take the risks as me. Just avoid LDV.

Not happy Jan – Picked up Ute in March 2022 never had any issues with it until I had it's first service done in July after a 2 month wait. speedo. I knew I had a full tank of fuel because I filled it when I arrived in Wangaratta the day before. I proceeded to drive back to Newcastle stopping at Gundagai to get a drink so I decided to top up the fuel but couldn't open the fuel cap flap after trying for a while to get it open with no luck I decided to keep heading home because the trip down I done on one tank so I should get home which I did. Rang ldv dealer telling them the problems and they said to drop it in problem is I live about an hour away and couldn't put fuel in it after a couple more phone calls still nothing an they wouldn't answer my calls. Now November I call road side service and they organized to pick up the ute and take it to the dealer it's now end of January and still none the wiser they say they don't know what the problem is and that they don't know what to do. So in the time I've owned the ute only been able to use it half the time.

other ute on the road and bloat it out and focused on making it a little runabout along with perfecting interiour plastics etc it would be better. The plastics over the airbag have lifted on all of them now, the stereo still bugs out occasionally and blasts you despite the dealers "updating and fixing" it. Overall, its not the worst thing on the road, but we wont renew with more of these. Will move back to toyota or mazda potentially. Really if your after a dirt cheap work car for someone you dont really care about, then yeah go for it. I dont trust it but or rely on it.

Ok, so I feel its almost a 2.5 star review to be honest. But we've had these as work vehicles for the past 6 months and here's the nuts and bolts. Will add to this list later as we go, 2020 LDV T60 work utes dual cab diesel.

Positives first, -Mechanically with average kms of around 30 thou at the moment. Nothing has broken or let us down. However there have been moments with the auto trans where is throws it down a gear violently.

- It's average on fuel, diesel, but not the worst. i.e. better than a crappy Rodeo what we used to have. - Parts from Aliexpress are cheap, dealers are hit and miss, the only good one was on the Gold Coast, cheaper than Brisbane.

- Interior wise it's not such a bad place to be, seats ok but haven't been in it for hours, but one of our workers drives about 5 hours every now and then and bought his own cushions for the seats so it must be pretty rough and tumble. Also plastics are lifting on the passenger airbag cover in most of the T60s we have.

- Looks wise, the big screen looks ok and at a glance everything looks modern. But more on that in the negatives.

- The aircon seems to work really well.

Negatives - These are LOTS of little things that owners wont admit as they like to defend their car tooth and nail, but the longer your with these cars the more you realise its an ebay special dressed up as a euro car.

- The engine, it's Chinese, people tell you oh its a VW motor or they bought the motor from GM or Izusu. NO, it's a Chinese motor that China puts in a lot of things, yeah maybe oil filters will fit from other manufacturers but NO it is NOT a name brand motor. These are dealer lies, its a Chinese OEM motor. Research it yourself. Not that it's such a bad thing, yes it's noticeably under-powered compared to others on the market but that's to be expected. its not like it wont do the speed limit, but hit a big hill fully loaded and yeah, you'll notice. Don't kid yourself either with rumours and lies about it being a VW or some other motor, its not.

- It's rough, the car is harsh to drive and almost dangerous on certain surfaces and roads due to its poor steering setup. Now having said that, 9/10 times its fine and drives normally, but when it happens you will understand why these vehicles are cheap. Along with the brakes, sometimes scary, other times perfectly fine.

- The stupid steering led headlights, they jitter up and down, dart left and right, and aren't bright enough. You'll need a lightbar but they can be had for $100 now so easy fix and yes you can turn the annoying adaptively stupid headlight steering off with a button.

- The radio, so just like an Aliexpress or ebay special it does stuff randomly and at times confuses the crap out of us. Sometimes it blares loud on start up other times silence, The settings in the unit for lead me home headlights appear to work opposite to displayed or at their own volition. i.e. lead me home off, ok yeah off then next time on maybe next time off again, random.

- Dust, there's no cabin air filter, now I know this may seem like a little thing, but have you ever been stuck in traffic behind an old stinky butt car or a cattle truck, yeah that's coming straight into the cab. The cab is also very poorly sealed so dust and everything else is coming in as well.

- Rattles randomly, sometimes they are there and others not.

- Layout of controls, Very poor. You have to look at everything to operate, meaning you have to take your eyes off the road. But having said that nothings broken yet.

- 4WD system is rough, like really rough, drop it into neutral, wait, shift to 4-Low wait engage all ok then sometimes when you drop it out and back to 2-High it goes BANG clunk. LDV didn't know anything about it.

- Servicing wise, the people are pretty useless some places, others easy and will try to help, but if its something not everyone has complained about its oh dunno sorry. Parts wise, its hard to get parts. Or slow boat from China...no really. Any panel parts etc no one carries except wreckers or OEM, And wreckers know this so be prepared to pay a hefty price for second hand, but good part is you can actually find random parts on places like Kogan and ebay etc.

- Noise, Its like an old tractor. Yeah inside its not too bad road noise and engine wise but outside the little motors revving its guts off.

- The blindspot sensors are useless, honestly total garbage. Like others have said they can't fix them, its because they are designed badly and use the incorrect tech. They should be millimeter wave and a different frequency along with different modules, they just flash on and off, another thing that the stereo controls are useless at turning on and off.
