Lenovo Tab 2 A7 Questions & Answers
Verifieddevice: Lenovo Tab 2 A7 years old: 1/2 problem: when the tablet is at like 20% i will go to charge it then i wait for maybe like 30 mins when i come back it will be at 10% so basically whenever i charge the tablet it will say its charging but the battery percentage wont go up it will go down and the tablet is plugged all the way into the wall i have purchased a new cord and new charging cube but the tablet still wont charge i have tried a different outlet and the tablet still has the same problem. the charging port will have some problems too. when i put it on the charger i will leave it charging like all day and it will only get up too 25% then it will start decreasing. can someone please help me figure out this problem?
The memory manager for the battery may be sensing the battery is old or discharged to many times and thus not charging properly. If you can't source a replacement battery it may mean time for a new unit.
Sorry don't know for sure but does sound like a battery problem l have had many problems with my tablet this problem also it will charge but only lasts around an hour and a half and mines not even 1year old tried to return but no dealhope you can resolve
I have had nothing but trouble drops out all the time takes forever to load is there any way to improve the performance?
Best way is to do a back up of any important items then do a full factory reset. If it is a problem with wifi connection in parts of your home then try a range extender. Also run speed test on your wifi service and speak to your provider if it is slow.
You could also try downloading a clean up app that cleans up and can remove little used apps.
Also depending on the age it could need a battery replacement. Some mobile battery sellers may offer this service.
It is only 2 months old and our computer works fine though l will try some of your suggested changes
I have installed clean master and ran it nothing is working now l am absolutely fed up ros
what battery percentage should it be on before I factory data reset it?
It takes a while for factory reset so It is best probably to have it plugged in and charging but on battery 60 to 70% should be more than enough
thank you Wilfred
LENOVO TAB 2 A7-20 battery doesnt charge now what can i do/ is it worth it to replace the battery ?
Are you sure it's the battery? I have had charging problems several times, but in each instance it was caused by some fault with the USB cable. It's the first place I'd look. The Micro USB end of the cable has to fit snugly into the Micro USB port for the tablet to charge. You will know it isn't fitting properly because the tablet will, or should, depending on your settings, vibrate repeatedly when you move the plugged in tablet. Plugged in, charging. Not plugged in, battery. Plugged in, charging. Not plugged in, battery. You get the idea. I use a 2 metre Energizer USB cable for my tablet and the Micro USB fits very snugly. You can get these for twenty bucks at Woolworths.
But if it really is the battery then no, I don't think it's worth replacing. The tablet retails for a hundred bucks, a battery could cost twenty to thirty, and to have someone pull the back off the thing and replace it may set you back fifty to seventy. I'd drop it off for recycling and buy another.
Thanks.yes I double checked the USB and it does work on other items.I tried using another micro USB and nothing happens. I agree it's not worth it to get the battery replaced because it needs to be heated and removed and labour charges will b high. Thanks for your reply appriciate that.

Is it a cellular version?
No. You need wifi to connect to internet. This works for me
This is just a plain old wi-fi tablet.
Would this tablet be Ok for a 7-year-old? Not sure of his computer habits as we don't see him often ( we live interstate)
It's an Android tablet. Depends what you want it for. I use it to browse the internet (using a wifi connection - it can't connect by itself), send and check emails, Facebook and I also stream music. I don't use it for games.
I wouldn't give it to a 7 year old but I wouldn't give any tablet or smartphone to a 7 year old - other people might.
Agree with Paul here - seven is a bit young to be let loose with any kind of computer, HOWEVER that's just my traditionalist opion. Kids have to learn to responsibly own and use computers sometime, right? Lenovo has a "kids mode" app that, me not being a parent, I never really looked into. What it does is it dumbs down the interface, makes it toylike and child-friendly, and it locks them out of certain apps and websites, so the little Dickens is in no danger of racking up bills that could buy space probe missions to Venus. And if you want to give him a tablet, the Lenovo is a good choice, not just because of the cost/performance but also because of its size and weight. Something like this would be at the upper end of a seven year old's comfort zone, ergonomics wise. Great for videos on Netflix, something I have gotten into after buying the Lenovo, and if you want to load it up with music for those oh-so traditional long and boring car trips to the back of beyond you can do what I did and buy an SD card (up to 64 GB) and an app called PlayerPro from the Play Store ($5, and it plays iTunes AAC files, but not the Audible.com audiobooks). I was giggling for hours that I could replace a $450 4th gen iPod Touch with a $100 tablet, a $30 memory card, and a $5 piece of software.
Hope this helps. Without more information and lacking parental experience there isn't much more I can say.
Thanks Norman and Paul. Perhaps I may wait a couple of years. My grandson has very strict parental control and time limits on their old desktop. Take care...Liz
Yes it's fine. Don't listen to these idiotic "traditionalist" parents. A tablet can be a valuable learning aid for young children. Whether it's via educational apps or TV shows. Also there is absolutely nothing wrong with allowing children to play fun games or take and edit pictures.
My 13 year old daughter has played on computers and Tablets/phones since she was 3. She is an absolute wizard now and has started making her own animations and low level programing.
