What junk – Lasted 2 months. Grinding noises when grating cheese that sounded like metal on metal. Don't bother

Absolute waste of money – What a waste of money. Even with basics like cheese, this product doesn't work! All the cheese simply gathers in the barrel and you have to scrape it out. Plus it never grates all the cheese. It leaves a significant amount not grated, regardless of how you push down with the handle. Rubbish!

Poor Quality. Old Technology – It grates cheese I guess (hence the 2 stars instead of 1), but it has a limited life span, but I'll get to that later. I was excited to receive this as my Nonna had a electric cheese grater when I was growing up, you cannot buy them any more, but it was the best thing ever. Obviously she uses a lot of cheese being Italian and so this grater was great. I found this Healthy Choice one which promised to do the same thing so naturally I had to get one to try it out as I might buy my Nonna one.

When it arrived a wave of disappointment washed over me. Even the box made it look like it came from some cheap back alley sweat shop somewhere, like a generic brand of something better (it's like you order a pair of Apple Airpods, and a pair of i7 Earphones show up - Google it, you'll see what I mean). No problem, I figure the product itself couldn't get worse, right? Wrong.

I opened the box and pulled the grater out of the plastic. It felt cheap and light. Like there was nothing inside it. I've seen some other cheap Chinese electronics do a better job. At least some of them have the smarts to glue some weights to the inside making it feel more substantial.

The plastic is cheap. Doesn't feel good to use.

One thing I will give it - It grates cheese. BUT, the title is also misleading. It's called an Electric Grater/Chopper. There is no chopping attachment - just two grating attachments. So another strike.

Now I could forgive everything negative I've stated above if ONE thing was different... The battery.

The battery is the VERY OLD Nickel Cadmium technology which will last maximum of 1-2 years if charged and discharged often enough, before the overall life span of the battery will start declining rapidly. The charging limitations of this batter tech are ridiculous: 1. In order to prolong the life of the battery it should be empty before charging again, 2. You shouldn't overcharge (yes overcharging is a thing with Nickel Cadmium) and 3. There is NOTHING to tell you when the battery is full when it's charging. There is a reason NiCd batteries aren't used in any common consumer electronics any more... THEY DON'T LAST!

The manual states that you are able to order replacement parts for this including a new battery, but I would bet that in a couple years time when you need one, they won't be selling them any more.

Would not recommend.

EDIT: Revised to 1 star! I would give ZERO if I could! I gave it 2 stars originally because it grates cheese. After a while I discovered that it can barely do that! This has a fatal design flaw where the grating cylinder disengages from the motor when you tilt it forward - which you kind of have to do to get the cheese to fall out of the grater. Only paid $45, but still not worth the money.
