Excellent sound – Excellent sound built in to match the stunning picture quality. The sound is so clear I can follow the dialogue from another room. Very user-friendly. Best TV I've purchased, quality surpasses many other brand names. Show details
White Spots and Shuts Down ! – Only had the tv 18 months when bright white Spots appeared, nut Harvey Norman said out of warranty now the tv shuts down by itself, rang LG, they don't care, do not buy LG appliances, our $3,000 LG dryer only lasted 3 years as well, premium priced appliances with absolutely no backup warranty. Beautiful Picture ! – I'm extremely happy with everything about my 70 inch L.G television .. The electrical contractor who installed it on my wall was so impressed with the picture and clarity he went and purchased one himself .. It was well worth paying extra for it. It ...l just love my L.G. Show details
Watch it everyday – My partner and I love this TV, we researched a lot of tvs before we brought one as we wanted to make sure we were getting the best for the money we spent. We have this TV set up on our theatre room and it’s the best to watch movies and sport on. Love the fact that it’s a smart tv and has papas like netflix, Stan, YouTube etc. on it so no need for an apple or Telstra tv box. Show details
Ok tv, kinda expensive – Overall the picture quality is very good, and the clarity is really nice too. The speakers are a bit small and not the best, however it has heaps of ports on the back for the bluray player, Xbox and the soundbar, so that is good. It is a bit slow on the inputs with changing the tv input and scrolling through the smart tv apps just a bit slow, which really puts the review score down for me. Show details
bad choice – One year out of warranty and it has a backlight bleed, meaning bursts of white light coming through all around the the bottom of the screen. Luckily I purchased the 4 year product care and they will replace it but say after that the product care wont continue on the new TV! Show details
Not smart – Warranty has just run out. We have had this tv for 1 year and have had problems with connections to wifi and so on. Tv programs freeze all the time.Very Slow in starting up. $4000.00 for a non SMART tv. Very disappointed. Even the remote dosent work. I thought it was my provider when its been the tv the whole time. Everything else connects to… Read more
my wifi expect this tv. Had to purchse a google dongle to watch Netflex and so on. Not worth the money. It fails to connect to internet everyday.
Good value for money, overall satisfied with the product – As everyone should do, I did a lot of research before going in for my 70 inches of pure goodness. It took me a while to part with a hefty amount of money for a flat screen, but this purchase has changed the way I enjoy entertainment at home. When Good Guys and the rest of the usual culprits announced a discount on this model (due to the… Read more
onslaught of OLED being planned to hit the stores early this year), I jumped on the opportunity without missing a beat.
Overall it has been a great buy, the picture quality is good, and the apps run pretty smooth as well. I have heard disappointments in the way apps work on smart TVs with my friends who concentrated too much on the cost and less on the tech. The only complaint I have is in the audio department, not that it's bad quality, but it doesn't give you the bang for your buck. Luckily I have an excellent home theatre at home, and it offsets for the lack of experience directly coming out of the TV. In my view, LG has done a decent job with this model, and I hope they continue to provide more apps in their apps-store and tweak their firmware for tech advances in the future.
I enjoy my tv after 10 hours of work – Picture quality is awesome built in speakers are fantastic it has plenty of inputs ampel the smart tv operating system apps and processing power of this tv are just simply fantastic quick fast lightning processing power just absolutely out of this world cant wait for their future release products WOW Show details
So much money wasted – The purchase of this TV has been the worst decision I have made in some time. The TV when it arrived leaked masses of light and would randomly zoom. Despite a clear issue with the unit, LG were reluctant to fix the problem. Eventually they did fix the light issue (after a lot of arguing) but it took months to fix the zooming problem. this issue they have generated another problem with the TV losing wifi connectivity and crashing netflix. I have lost count at the number of times their staff have visited my house (it is either 4 or 5) and the hours I have spent on the phone but the TV is still broken.
Support staff can be openly hostile and on one occasion I was punished for asking to speak to a manager by being put on hold for 20 minutes and being demoted to a more junior member of staff. Due to the broken manner in which they process issues, calls take 20 minutes to an hour and at the end you find yourself in no better position than when you started.
I will be working with consumer affairs to rectify my issues as this organisation is not professional enough
to manage its own issues. Do yourself a favour buy from someone else.
Great view – It was nice after putting up with my Samsung 42" used for 5 years. Great to have new TV with 4K. Nice. Bought it from BigW, Melbourne, Australia. Upgraded from a Samsung plasma to the LG 70UH635T. Excellent picture. Good sound. Felt I purchased a piece of art. Very sparingly used.. less than 2-4 hours a week. Show details
Excellent product, till it died on me after 4 months of use – Excellent picture. Good sound. Felt I purchased a piece of art. Very sparingly used.. less than 2-4 hours a week. Four months post purchase the TV picture went blue. I am now awaiting repairs. The LG website is painful to lodge a service request. The chat service is good and they booked me in for a service call out. Techs are on their… Read more
way, with parts ordered. (Not sure how the person at the tech centre figured out what was wrong). Will update this review once the product is serviced.
Tech reviewed the product and determined the product screen was faulty. The service call centre experience was very poor as I had to chase them up almost on a weekly basis for updates. They left no digital / paper trail of communication, no case number, no emails, no documentation regarding the issue etc.
Finally, they concluded they cannot repair or replace the TV and offered a full refund. I accepted this in the form of a store credit at Harvey Norman and will buy another TV.
Sad, I am aware these things can happen at random despite the best quality control processes with any company but based solely on my customer service experience alone, I will not be buying another LG TV. It took over one month to fully resolve this issue.
Entertainment hub – A nicely designed tv with a clear and vivid picture The ound system comes across loud and clear, no buzzing just a consistently clear tone The TV has 2 ports which makes it convenient when connecting my tablet, phone or camera when transferring images and the instruction book has a clear explanation in how to undertake these and a range of other tasks Show details

Know better, choose better.
Don't buy LG – Upgraded from a Panasonic plasma to the LG 70UH635T and what a big mistake. LCD lag or motion blur totally ruins any movie or sport watching experience. Customer Service is dismal and never comes back to you. I always had to follow up with them and of course they say it's not the TV it must be the antenna or other components plugged in (which… Read more
worked perfectly fine on my plasma). Even with a new top of the range Panasonic 4K blu-ray player the picture is far worse than my old plasma for watching movies. Big mistake buying this. I will need to start saving again and buy a Panasonic smart TV. No more LG for me.
70 Inches of pure UHD 4K LOVE – This is the first TV that I didn't have to touch or adjust straight out of the box. The picture, colour, contrast and definition is absolutely insane, I researched a lot of UHD TV's before buying this bad boy and it is the single best TV I have ever owned. The WebOS is also very cool, intuitive and gives you everything at your fingertips where… Read more
this TV's Magic Remote does its magic. The blacks on this tv are so black that it is difficult to tell where the screen ends and the black plastic frame on the edge of the TV starts. Installing apps is a breeze and being able to watch PLEX and NETFLIX in 4K for the first time is mind boggling the resolution is just spectacular... Oh and the price..... I thought why spend the money on a 4K TV when there is no content out there to watch, but I was wrong, there is 4K content to watch after researching I found that this 4K TV is NOT more expensive than 1080p HD TV's which are now old tech. Also I was worried that standard TV HD would look bad seeing the screen has 2x the resolution of a 1080p TV, but I was wrong Free to air HD TV looks stunning on this screen. The magic remote acts like a wireless mouse pointer, it also works as the master remote and is able to learn all your remotes so you only need the Magic Remote, I can say that I have never had a remote that's this good and useful, and it comes FREE with this TV which is another bargain and a huge saving as the Magic Remote is quite expensive to buy.
10/10 from me on this UHD TV.... If you are after a new UHD LED TV this one is what you are after.
Excellent tv! – Finally switched from Samsung (horrible customer care and quality control in the past couple of years) and I couldn't be happier with my LG 70UH635T! Impressive picture quality and sound, magic remote is so easy and intuitive to use! I would have liked a few more HDMI Ports (it has 3), but it's not a major problem, as HDMI switchers are cheap these days. All around a beautiful tv! Bye, bye Samsung! Show details
Excellent All Rounder – It was time for an upgrade and after a bit of research I had narrowed it down to two manufacturers, LG and Samsung. Both sets were on special so when I got to the store it came down to what was in stock and which was better value for money. By far the LG was the out performer in the value category with very similar specs to the Samsung equivalent.… Read more
Both were in stock so it was a matter of having had a Samsung more recently than the LG which led me to purchase this LG TV to mix things up a bit.
Customer service was a big consideration with this brand as well, having experienced LG and Samsung customer service I can tell you that LG wins hands down in that respect. They will go out of your way to help you. Measure your room and the space where you'll be housing this TV because on first impressions it's HUGE. The TV itself has a small foot print, getting the stand on the TV was easy with the assistance of a friend, you can not do this by yourself. Part of the stand it metal, the other part feels plastic, it doesn't look any different and it's very strong and would take a very decent push on purpose to topple this set. The Magic Remote can also be used to control other devices, set top boxes, sound bars, etc.
I run most of my AV through my amp then to the TV, it was a simple as you would expect with one HDMI cord, there are an additional 2 HDMI ports (3 in total) plus 3 USB slots, one of which is USB 3.0 I also used the optical port on the back for sound from the TV so I could use Netflix, YouTube and others from the TV, I did give the TV speakers a test, they seemed good but no comparison to proper surround sound.
I'm a 'read the manual' type of person and this manual is not a manual, you may as well use it for toilet paper. I struggled to comprehend the different sound out put options in the TV menu but there is very helpful texts in the menu to tell you what everything is and what it does. LG have really made an amazing remote, the TV came with LG's Magic Remote. Having used the comparative Samsung tech LG wins this hands down, much easier to control, the pointer doesn't shoot off to the side and you don't necessarily even need to point it at the TV. The remote also features a scroll wheel which is incredibly useful but otherwise it's a fully featured remote with everything you would expect. Also you don't even need to use the pointer on the remote. It's not one of these pebble sized ones that you need a virtual remote on the screen to do anything, it fits nicely in your hand, and for hand size comparison I have medium man, woman sized hands.
The picture quality is impressive, I can only fault it in one way. On a dark screen, grey background or black, if you then use the cursor you can see the backlight on the screen light up each section as you move the cursor, but how often are you going to do that when nothing is on the screen. Upscaling of 1080p content is faultless, of course you can tell the difference when you then use native 4K but I was surprised. I even went as far to plug in a Super Nintendo and it was very playable and is still getting used a month later. Previous TV's even 1080p have not done this good of a job upscaling content.
I'm really not a fan of all these claimed refresh rates, I think it makes everything look fake. I turn it off immediately, I did give it a chance, watching some YouTube videos it did look better with the higher refresh but as soon as you watch sports or play video games everything looks so fake and like the TV is a step ahead trying to guess what or where the picture will be. This is better but still similar to all other manufacturers that I've seen, definitely something I can do without. The is no ghosting or image blur on this screen so there is no reason to up the refresh rate, even if it's on by default. I'm normally playing Xbox or one of the other consoles and I hate the higher refresh but it works if you intend to use it or think you need it.
The menus are all very easy to navigate for TV settings. The LG Content Store is good albeit maybe a bit difficult to work out where everything is at the start. The apps are hidden away behind LG's 'premium' apps. I don't use many but the apps I do use, Netflix, YouTube and Plex. All work well, I had no issues whatsoever (once I found them). The home menu of the TV is a handy place you can open any of your apps from there and other LG apps already on the TV to view your media. Whilst on the home menu whatever was in the background will still continue.
I'm am really satisfied with the quality of this LG TV and running webOS it gives the TV a leg up. For the purpose of this review I bought a USB 3.0 drive and did some recording and time-shift TV, worked without any issues. Very handy when you want to record a show it will by default set to record the rest of the show you're watching, you can also change it of course.
To summarise a long review (sorry), go out and buy this TV. If you're thinking about it or have seen this TV then this is the one for you. I've had Samsung for a long time prior to this and I much prefer LG now, they really have made a huge effort to make the software on the TV friendly and it makes you want to use all of the apps you can get your hands on.
very impress with the quality of the picture – We got the tv for a 6 months and never got a problem, the picture is great specially when we playing video clips from youtube, the picture is Crystal clear. The 3D is ok....not as good as the samsung , but lg glasses are without batterys and they are not bad. The apps on the LG are basic's.Remote control is very easy to use, small size and very… Read more
easy to control the mouse on the screen. Some tv's got big remote's and too many button's....lg very compact ans simple to use....
Recommend this tv for quality and price, but still with modern look
Beautiful TV so happy – The picture is amazing. The hdr feature provides vivid colours and contrast. You can customize the display settings for smoother motion Vs clearer faster action. This will be helpful for sports. Smooth motion can be better for movies as the tv can be too clear and reveal more detail with CGI effects. This can make the scenes loom fake. By… Read more
allowing some motion blurr you get some realism back again. The point here is that it is customisable to suit your own preference.
As with all edge lit screens the blacks will never be as good as oled but for half the price as oled this screen is awesome. Love it.
