Feels like this should be a dumb question, but we moved into a rental property that has the LG GC-P197DPSL Fridge already here. It doesn't appear to be plumbed in, but I cannot for the life of me work out if it needs it or not, and if not, how do you put water in it? The owner lived in the house before us and is his fridge, so I doubt he would have bought this particular fridge if it needed plumbing and then not plumbed it in, but could be wrong. Please help, feel like I'm going crazy

Hello fellow LG GC-P197DPSL fridge users - we keep getting large water drops under our top shelf. I pulled out the fridge, and vacumed the air inlets/outlets, and it stopped for a few day, but then returned. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Our Fridge GC-P197DPSL leaks when we have it on water on the control panel. If its on ice making it doesn't leak. The leak is from the bottom left at the front where there is a little sponge. Any ideas?
My fridge is dispensing ice but not water, is that because the water tank is old? Or is because of something else.

Have you tried cleaning off all the dust and lint off the coils at the back of the fridge. If these coils are not free of junk and ventilated heat will build up and then fridge will work harder to cool. Turn off fridge first. Plate at lower back needs to be unscrewd first. But be careful you may damage something if you are not careful
cleaning i will do that and questing can clean by washing the coils?
I did clean dust in coils as your instruction but frezzer still same deforsting any other options ?

Hi Just wondering if it is dispensing ice but just not water? Also turning fridge off for a few minutes and back on again can reset the computer. Also make sure pipe is not blocked that connects to your water container. Bad water can turn in to sludge or calcification over time
No I don't have any water pumping even to the ice maker, I haven't checked the piping yet but will do, thankyou
I know it's been a few years since you reported this problem but did you ever find a solution? I have the LG side by side with the water bottle and the water has stopped working both to the door dispenser and the ice tray. I've replaced the water pump but no change. I find that if I turn off the power to the fridge for several minutes the water will work for about 30 seconds and cut out.
My LG GC-P197DSPL is dispensing water but we are not getting any ice. Not filling the ice tray with water. Any ideas?

Our freezer department is not getting cold enough.With the freezer department is empty it only gets down to minus 4.The fridge part gets down to about 3 degrees,what could be the problem.
My understanding is that a freezer only needs to be -18 Celsius or colder. Not sure if you were quoting Fahrenheit ? Also if you put more items in a freezer even if its just freezer packs or sealed blocks of ice it will get colder and remain colder. You need to have things in your freezer for it to keep the cold better
Its is minis 4 degees C.When the freezes was loaded,some of the food was starting to thaw,we caught it in time. I have just cleaned the condenser coil so I hope that works.
Tony did cleaning the condenser coil work? I have just noticed the same problem with mine.
No Daryl it did not work.At the moment I'm just monitoring it with a temperature guage, which seems to be all over the place,from-2 to -17 nothing steady,so I don't no.I checked the main circuit board and it all looks good,no caps are bulging and nothing burnt.
Tony, I had the same issue with my fridge some time ago. The issue was the coils behind the inside back panel of the freezer, they were faulty and needed to be replaced. We got in touch with LG and they sent someone out to repair it at no cost as it was under warranty. Hope this helps.
Hi the bottom crisper on my LG GC-P197DPSL is freezing the vegetables on the bottom of the crisper. The slide button on side is set to vegetable so that is not the issue. Any ideas?
Hi martin im not entirely sure what to do but maybe your fridge temp is too low. I have mine set at 4 degrees ( centigrade )
Hi there. I have a 10 years old LG GC-L197DNL with no plumbing ice & water dispenser. I take out the tank to fill in water. Today I have discovered, that I have mould starting to build up: in the mouthpart (tank lid into the line to the dispenser) in the little hose (mouthpart to water tank) and on the little filter at the end on the hose. I cannot figure out how to open that lid to clean/replace that pump thing. I had a 'live chat' with someone - presumably for LG, ha ha - but he couldn't help (oh wonder). Anyone on here who could help? Thank you.
i have tried many times to locate the filter but cant find one.
The filters are hidden behind the plastic bottom face plate, the Lines run from the fridge water system, out the bottom corner behind the plate and into another inlet to the freezer,, behind that plate is a small like filter that can be checked
do you mean the plastic face at the front of fridge touching the floor?

We have a LG Fridge/Freezer which is continually beeping, 3 times every 30 seconds. How do we make it stop? The doors are closed and there are no error indicators appearing on the panel. Model # GC-P197DPSL.

Hi at first glance this fridge/freezer works well. Ive found once the freezer reaches setpoint the compressor will cycle off. It stays off for such a period of time my freezer starts defrosting and gets as high as 5 degrees. Ive checked voltage during this time and found the control board isn’t giving the compressor a signal to run. After a many hours and water in my freezer and floor boards the compressor starts back up and runs and gets to temperature again like nothing is wrong. Ive changed the control board on it and still hasnt fixed it.
Im thinking maybe a thermostat or sensor issue. Has anyone else encountered this issue?
