The fridge failed after less than 7 years. LG said they’d provide the compressor but labour and call out with an LG approved repairer would be at my cost (min. $700). I’m not spending $700+ on repairing a $2000 fridge. As such this is going to landfill. Terrible outcome. A fridge should last a lot longer than 7 years. Show details
Seemed fine for 5 years then a gas leak caused the compressor to overheat and die. Now paying over $1k for repair (call out, parts labour) when new the thing cost $2k. Sure the $500 compressor is free under warranty, but why the hell did it leak all the refrigerant gas?!?! It just sits there, in a protected spot. Nothing to blame but substandard… Read more

The 10-year warranty isn't worth anything when the labor cost is more than the fridge is worth – The fridge is 6 years old, the compressor has failed, it has a 10-year warranty on the compressor so I called to have it repaired as was informed the cost or labor is $600 which is more than the fridge is currently worth. My Neighbour has the same issue with the same fridge. An expensive fridge should last longer than 6 years and be affordably serviceable. Not so good – We loved the quality of the LG fridges when we saw them, particularly the 530Ltr slim. We wanted more room so chose this 665Ltr side by side. open them. Most fridge draws allow you to pull them open from the top of the draw. The second issue is the bottom draw in the freezer side. The short glass that fits over the top of it is so loose. It pulls easily off and even worse, when the bottom draw is opened, it easily comes off. This makes it dangerous and readily breakable. This glass does not even fit snuggly with the contours of the fridge. I have never seen such an ill fitting glass top even on cheaper fridges. The bottom draw does not open and close smoothly either and they have not been put in incorrectly as there is only one way they can be put in. On the fridge side there is one shelf that can be adjusted to a different shelf height. We noticed that the more expensive fridges use this spot to put in a metal shelf to hold bottles. On the LG website, we do not have the option to buy this extra shelf.
Noisy! NOT recommended – bought New, and 4 years later, the noise that goes on and off at random is so loud that can wake us up at night. LG has a 10 years warranty on compressor but when the service team came, they claimed such noise are normal for LG fridge and it's not a compressor issue. Show details

still working perfectly fine after ten years, however this one just didn’t look good from first day, borders, alignments even indoor plastics looks much lower quality compared to my older fridge. Will updated once service man showed up.

The whole family can’t have a good sleep at night. Fridge is supposed to work 24/7 for 10+ years. However this LG fridge can’t even last for a year.
Custom service: 1. Not trust customer: I told them my fridge is making ridiculous noise. The technician questioned my word thinking I was making fun of them. I spent couple hours waiting time talk to them just to make fun of them?!!! 2. Unacceptable waiting time: - I first contacted them on 28 Dec 2022, however, until now 9 Feb 2023, the fridge still have not been fixed. They don’t even provide me any update. I will have to contact them. And they advised the ETA for the part is 15 Mar 2023!!!!. I purchased the fridge March last year. 1/4 of the time I have it is faulty!! The fridge is no a discontinued product. It take 3 months to get the part delivered? It is totally unacceptable waiting time. -I contacted them again on 6 Feb 23 and advised them the waiting time is not acceptable, they said they will put it as urgent and get back to me. Until now 9 Feb 23, they don’t provide me any update. Urgent in their system might mean FOREVER. 3. Less of technology skill: their technician can’t tell what extract problem is. It means even after 3 month waiting. The problem might be still there!! 4. Not provide any support: customer service will just ask you to wait without providing alternative solution. 5. Freak communication: They sent me message saying they were ringing me and ask me to call back. My phone is with me the time I received the message. It is not ring at all!!
Fridge is supported to make our life easier, however LG turns it into a nightmare. I strongly not recommend this fridge and all LG products due the worst product quality and worst customer service.
Good fridge, dinted on arrival though – Picked this fridge up from the good guys one month ago and moved it into our new home. I like the size, the shelf spacing and the Door in Door. The drawers in the bottom of the freezer and fridge are great except that the handles are at the bottom of the drawer, so you cant open them from a standing position, which is quite annoying when we’re trying to grab things. The height of the door pull is awkward also - partner is 6ft 2 and has to bend to open the door. We knew this when we bought it but still , an annoying feature.

chock the rear, right 'leg' with a piece of wood to try and make the fridge level; *Despite adjustment, the upper doors won't level, so the fridge appears lopsided; *The stainless steel finish dents very easily, and there is no effective way to get these dents out (we have kids); *The ice dispenser requires you to exactly centre the glass under the outlet, which is very difficult, with the result that some ice-cubes most often end up on the floor; The water filter is external. So to replace the water filter every 6 months you need to pull the whole fridge out to access the rear of the fridge and replace it.

One detail that can easily be fixed – This is the second LG French door fridge that we've had. After ten years the old one developed a fault - water was dispensed inside the door rather than through the proper spout - but everything else contined to work fine. but one small grumble. The water filter is external to the fridge. This makes sense in terms of increasing available useful cooling space. However, there's no bracket on which to mount the cylindrical filter. Why can't LG provide a couple of suitable clips that could be fixed either to the back of the unit if there's sufficient space, or to the wall if not. Come on LG, think laterally.

family well, as most things can be stored at a good height and then the things less frequently used can be put down the bottom. We love the sleek design, although I have found that I need to daily wipe down the front of the fridge from grimy boy fingers that access the fridge after school. Overall I can't fault this fridge, it was delivered by JB Hi Fi the day after purchasing and it was a quick and painless experience being able to track the delivery and be home on time for them to deliver. Great communication from the JB HI FI team from the instore to delivery. We are still marvelling at the door in door feature and enjoying keeping the cool air in the fridge/freezer. Well designed and easy to use. Highly recommend.

Amazing value and it is a beautiful machine. Plumbed in ice and water is brilliant especially over summer. Can't imagine life without it now. JB HI FI delivered brilliantly and helped set it up for us. Great price, value and performance so far. We are all very happy with this purchase and would buy again in a heartbeat. I have noticed that the water filter needs changing (6 months)so I am wondering where to purchase that item from but other than that we are happy with the consistent temperature in the main fridge/freezer as well as the door in door section (my hubby wasn't sure that it would stay cold enough prior to purchase)

It's Bigger Than You Think – We put off buying a French Door fridge for 10 years as they don't have enough shelf space. When our old fridge finally died we "settled" on the LG GS-D665PL side-by-side fridge instead. Other reviews seem to pick apart features which they didn't research, the fridge does everything it says IT WILL, and I couldn't be happier with the purchase. The horizontal handles are also nice and trendy and help break the seal with ease (no yanking the door to get an old fridge open).
LG ! Avoid – Our fridge only worked for a few hours before it stopped causing the loss of food ! Not going into the full story it's to long. 2 weeks to repair our new fridge ! Not as advertised – Purchased today and not happy as it's Advertised that you can lock the water and ice to prevent spills, but only the computer can be locked! Not able to vertically align it with my cabinets! – Just bought this to replace another side-by-side LG that lasted 17 years (before the evaporator line corroded and perforated). Be aware that this fridge (and others from other manufacturers) cannot be adjusted to be truly vertical to align with cabinets! They no longer fit self closing hinges so that the fridge doesn't need to lean. It just looks bad and I'm going to use a spacer under the rear rollers to align it.

Another selling point that made me get this fridge was that on the fridge side, instead of opening the whole fridge door and letting all the cold air go out, there's a small door in the front that opens so that you can reach inside just to grab your drinks etc. none of the other fridges on the market had this feature.
