Really bad LG Service – A couple of years after purchase, the rack started rusting, so I called LG service and they said my best options was to pay $400+ to replace it. I decided to use the machine until it died instead and alas it has meet its bitter demise after five years - the good old 0E error, probably clogged up with rust pieces from the rack. This seems to be a… Read more

common issue with LG.

I have always been an avid LG fan, but I think my glazed over eyes have been wiped clear with this experience. What kind of company doesn’t acknowledge a design flaw, such as rusting racks. I read other reviews for the newer models and I see they have incorporated this feature into their newer dishwashers. In all fairness, I haven’t had a bad experience with their televisions, but their dishwashers, washing machines and microwaves not up to par. Proceed cautiously I warn thee, for you too may end up sitting out a lockdown evening writing a review such as ye.

Edit: The LG teams response was poor as usual. Don’t be fooled by the we’d like to help message below.

Don't buy it - it won't last – Lasted only 25 months. Dishwasher racks are made out of corrosive material coated in plastic which peeled and the metal underneath rusted. LG replaced the rack under the warranty, however, the dishwasher door then cracked just a few months later and the dishwasher started leaking before it died. Extremely disappointing, compared to the (cheaper)… Read more

Bosch dishwasher we previously owned that lasted us 10 years (being used daily). We are so disappointed that we will never buy any LG products ever again.

Wouldn't buy it again – Have had for 3 years now and would never buy it again. Dishes constantly come out dirty, glasses are covered in grit, no prewash cycle and the only cycle that gets the load half clean goes for 3 hours. I have to handwash at least 50% of every load after to get the dishes clean. Not worth using any more unless I need the dishes off the bench and am really strapped for time. Don't waste your money  Show details

Perfect & Efficient – One of the best dishwashers, this was the last production model, there is an update coming up later in the year. Its really efficient, cleans really well. The steam option, is excellent. Maintain the dishwasher well and they run as good as new. Its easy to install and operate, the smart diagnosis helps the service team at LG understand the actual problem with the product.  Show details

Very disappointing – Have had this dishwasher for 6 months now and am quite disappointed with its performance . We have had Asko Dishlex Westinghouse and Whirlpool dishwashers over many years and automatically assumed that all dishwashers had a rinse option. WRONG can’t belive this has none. As a light user a rinse option is a requirement when it’s only used around… Read more

twice a week quite often any food particles on plates and tea/coffee cups have dried and unless you have it on the dual intensity program will not clean. Any other wash program used results in dishes and cups not cleaned.

Quite disappointed......

Happy with my purchase – My reasons for this purchase were and are: Australia lot of space internally with the direct drive motor taking less space than a standard setup. Top cutlery tray, as with most modern dishwashers, but also a removable cutlery basket. I love this. Easily raise and lower trays. Long warranty on the motor. Washes very well, although a little louder than would be preferred. Good product for the price point.  Show details

Incredible wash. Love it. Glad I was suspicious of the 1 star reviews – Really clean dishes. Quiet. Looks great. It does what it says. Cleans dishes. It's not complicated. Love the steam function. My glasses squeeked. Oh dishwasher how can I love thee let me count the ways. My love for you knows no bounds.  Show details

Terribly made – Not happy with this dishwasher had it 18 months and already had service guys out twice for repairs for the pump which of course isn't covered by warranty and now the top won't wash anything, it comes out just as dirty as it went in. Glasses are always dirty and I have to rewash everything by hand very disappointed I had a dishlex which was second hand it is 15 years old and still going I swapped it for this what a mistake.  Show details

Worst dishwasher ever – My glasses actually come out dirtier than when they went in. Nothing gets clean and I often have to rewash. Cycles can take 3 hours and remain wet. The only good thing about this dishwasher is that it is very very quiet. You can barely hear it whisper "I'm crap at cleaning...suckers"  Show details

Absolutely amateur design layout for stacking – The top cutlery drawer baskets hit the handle of the mid drawer when pushed into place after loading. The mid drawer RHS swing down retainers hit the cutlery drawer so can't be left up - consequently have to be removed. I tried lowering the RHS slide but then the sprayer stops rotating - even with normal size dinner plates stacked on the RHS lower… Read more

drawer - so absolutely no hope with the larger plates. Virtually no decent provision for stacking glasses and having them stay in place without falling over. Forget wine glasses all together. Poor positioning and layout all around of plate holder upright "pegs" which are all too close to allow reasonable stacking of desert plates. A lot of money to spend on something which you hate every time you load after dinner. I just can't believe that something with so little commonsense used in design and absence of practicality ever made it onto the market.

Thanks for the free dishwasher LG! – Well this used to be the dishwasher for my in-laws, but it broke. A very large, sweaty and unfit repair man came out to have a look, and it was obviously too hot a day to look at fixing it, so he just said it was too hard to fix and ordered them a new one. This one was in the garage, so I pulled it apart, diagnosed a faulty drain pump, and $50… Read more

later I have a new dishwasher (mine was pretty much end of life).

So, what do I think of this dishwasher? Obviously reliability could be an issue, given that it was broken. It's quiet, and there is lots of room in there given the motor layout. It's very tall though, so installation can be a problem, and it's also quite wide (i.e. it touches the sides of the cabinet now, whereas my last one had some free space). It cleans ok, sometimes there's stuff left behind, but really most dishwashers have this problem (c.f. avocado, peanut butter, dried egg yolk etc - the stuff that you need a small nuke to clean off). The fast wash is fast, and quite good, but the other washes are very slow! The eco wash takes 2:50! I'm one of those people who don't like leaving the house when appliances are running, so you have to think about when you run the machine!

Overall, very happy, but then for $50, I suppose I would be!

Terrible fire hazard – I bought this unit about 9 months ago. Since then it has had 4 service calls. 1 was for constant problem emptying the sump. I learned later that this was because food was getting stuck in the spigot, and i had to rinse clean my dishes thoroughly before washing them . never have i had to do this with a dishwasher before. I may as well wash these by… Read more

hand to save water. 1 time was due to constant whistling noise which required a full sump pump replacement. and 2 call outs for leaking - which turns out to be a result of the steam catching in the door cavity where the electrics sit. the Repair man had advised this is a fire hazard and seen quite a few with this issue.

This product is not safe and a PITA. The amount of time im taking off to have this sorted is now equal to the cost of the dishwasher.

don't buy this product

Quietest dishwasher I have ever heard – I live in an apartment and did a lot of research, this dishwasher was one of the few that advertised the decibel rating. It was easy to install and is very quiet. There has been some negative reviews on similar models but most of the complaints appear to be from people that dont read the manual. The annoying chime can be turned off and the… Read more

tablets dont go in the container, that is where the powder goes. Tablets go on the floor.

I have had no issue with it washing just turn the level of the jets up to get a faster flow.

Does not wash very well at all – No matter what cycle we use there is always mugs that have particle residue in them and glasses that look stained. Purchased this for the steam option but all that seems to do is make the leftover grim bake harder on to the items. Also items seem to move around a lot when sliding the middle tray in and out. Very Disappointed.
