LG QNED81TSA 43QNED81TSA (43")

Good 43" LG Qned81 TV but small fonts – This is LG 43" QNED81 TSA 2024 range manufactured in Indonesia & purchased in Australia. And this review has been updated after one week of use. As our 5 years old Samsung UA43ru7100 bought in December 2019 had failed we this time opted to buy the LG 43" QNED81 TSA based on our previous experience of watching the Paris Olympics on the LG 55" QNED81 SRA 2023 in Europe.
The 43" Qned81 has a quite good picture and reasonable sound. It's not absolutely the best in all aspects but is a reflection of the price.
The cursor of the magic remote is not convenient in the use. Therefore, the next day we bought a traditional non-magic LG remote, the "One for all" URC7115 for a AU$60 that works anyway well with this TV. We prefer to use the old fashioned remote.
We also found that the TV program guide has a quite small font. The attached first photo shows the program guide on the Samsung 43" and the second shows the same guide on the LG that is definitely less readable due to smaller fonts. My attempts to change fonts failed, because the existing option on the earlier Qned81 2023 version TV seems now in the version 2024 to be removed.
Generally our early opinion is as follows:
PROS: ▪️good picture. ▪️includes the LG Plus free channels matching the Samsung Plus free channels. ▪️easy connect to Internet & works very well.
CONS: ▪️ only 60 Hz refresh rate. Note that the 55" Qned81 SRA of the 2023 range had 120 Hz refresh rate and was of a superior quality. ▪️sluggish OS, probably due to addition of AI with slow responses. ▪️fonts of the TV program guide are quite small and can't be changed to a bigger. Comparison: _______Picture 1 - Samsung 43". _______Picture 2 - LG Qned81 TSA 2024. ▪️and inconvenient "Magic" remote control. But this TV works well with the traditional remote control.
It would be appreciated if LG in the next software update will include an option in the settings for selecting of font size for the TV program guide.
We hope that this 43" LG QNED81 will last much longer than our previous two Samsung 43" TVs used in our bedroom that lasted only 5 years.
Purchased in at Harvey Norman for $725.
