Bought our LG QNED81 UHD LED SMART TV from Harvey Norman in Springvale in June. Picked up mid July and 2 days later it had horizontal white lines at the bottom of the screen. Gradually they moved up the screen and got worse. LG took two weeks of hassling them to send someone out, then they tried to fix a TV we had for two days and cost $3k. We insisted on a refund from Harvey Norman. LG were terrible to deal with - not returning calls & not following up on our job ticket - for 38 years I have bought Sony/Samsung/Hitachi/Panasonic/TCL - never had a problem.

Purchased in at Harvey Norman for $2,684.

We decided to upgrade our 20-year-old Sony TV — which never missed a beat — just before the Easter holidays. Thinking we’d try something new, we chose an LG over another Sony, assuming it would be a step forward with the larger formats. What a massive mistake. Within a couple of days, the LG started randomly turning itself off. After less than a week, it completely died. Brand new, and completely useless.

The irony is painful: we almost bought another Sony but thought we'd “give LG a go.” Big regret. This experience has completely shattered our trust in LG. Not only were we left with no TV over the Easter break, but we’re also left with a bad taste that will stick for a long time. A brand-new TV should never fail in less than a week.

Save yourself the headache — stick to brands you know you can trust. We certainly won’t be giving LG another chance.

Purchased in at JB Hifi Home for $2,600.
