Very average picture and customer service from LG – Just bought this TV and looked great in the shop. I carefully got it home and mounted it and no doubt, it looks great on the wall. When I first started it up, I noticed some issues with the panel. It has bright ghostlike patches from the edges of the screen to a white patch all over the LHS. I understand this is a back lit screen but it… Read more

shouldn’t favour one side as you can see from pictures attached. I contacted LG customer support and sent them images of the screen and they deemed this as normal and a characteristic of this TV! They wouldn’t replace the TV upon this basis. Inconveniently, we would need to hire another van, go back to place of purchase and ask for a refund. This is not acceptable customer service. They should be the ones coming out, replacing the tv with a new one. Realistically, LG shouldn’t be selling the faulty TV’s knowing that there are issues within. What a waste of time, but thankfully educated me not to buy any more LG products in the future. I went out and bought the Sony and in fact bought 2. One full array and an OLED and completely happy with quality and picture.

Everything we hoped for – Our ten year old Samsung, still working beautifully, was too small for the room in our new home. A Mr H Norman advertised some limited offers, one of them a 65 inch HiSense. I took a screen shot of all the specials and sallied forth with the good lady to view this at our nearest H Norman. "Ah yes Sir, it's over here". There must have been twenty… Read more

TVs, all with moving pictures. The HiSense was a static photo and my good lady was not impressed. Right next to it was a fully-operating LG and the lady oozed approval. Mmm - quite a bit more money. See what they've done there? Put a diamond next to the turd you came to see. I asked the salesperson if there was a discount on the LG and getting a negative, resigned myself to credit card discomfort. As the rep was bringing up the computer I fiddled with my print-out of specials. "Excuse me, isn't this here that there?" After several er, er, ers, he agreed there WAS a discount, $200 yet. TV was delivered by efficient service and we now have a truly magnificent 65 inch LG. No problem apart from choosing the wrong HDMI socket for the surround sound, quickly cleared up on the phone by a lady at H Norman who was very understanding of my 80 year old brain still living in a world of Horizontal Hold and Test Card C. To sum up, early days but if it last half as long as the Samsung more than happy. As for Mr H Norman, tip: Take a screen shot with you.

Could have been 5 stars but for some niggles – We selected this TV because of the brand and the price ($1195 at JB Hi-Fi). The set up was reasonably easy. As with many new appliances these days, there seems to be an over abundance of options. This can serve to make the process quite involved and confusing. Screen settings, Audio settings etc have plenty of scope. Picture wise I am very happy… Read more

with the TV. Where it starts to wrong is in the Menu. LG tell you to go to The Control Centre to access some options, however, there is no on screen reference that we could find for the Control Centre. I was told by LG phone support that this was in fact the 4 squares that begin the on screen Channel choices. I should point out that this "option" is just a picture with 4 blank squares in it. Why LG did not label it as The Control Centre I have no idea! My major ongoing source of annoyance is the Remote. Accessing the Home screen is easy but the Cursor does not always show and often disappears in periods of non use. Having selected the Home button, I find there is a tendency to press it again when you have moved the Cursor onto your selection. This is incorrect! There is a rolling wheel in the centre which is what you press in order to make a selection. The fact that the wheel rolls can lead you to get the wrong choice or go to another area entirely. If you watch TV without a light on, it is quite a challenge to use the remote if you want to adjust something. My Wife wanted the TV on the wall, so that is where it now is. I have not yet had to try and put cables in the back of the TV but I do wonder if this would be possible without dis-mounting!! Overall, its a good TV! Its just spoilt by some really frustrating little things.

Screen fault after 3 weeks – Bought the new model 3 weeks ago and it has a faulty screen panel and excessive bleeding white light at bottom. Used to love LG. LG's customer service was quick to respond and are sending out a tech soon but they are not offering replacement rather more willing to repair. That was disappointing considering it has been under a month. Will see how… Read more

it proceeds but the outright experience was not as good as I hoped it would be. The tv, web os and picture in general are great if unit is not faulty.
