invoice model number etc. Advised them that i have a young family and that i need this repaired or replaced asap. It went to a call center that in turn went to another team in Sydney. Service then allocate the job to sub contractor in Melbourne. Called sub contractor they advised it can’t be reviewed by technician for another 12 days. !!! Called LG again advised that i want the washing machine replaced. They advised me they can’t call Sydney office and can only email. Case manger not in on Fridays!!! I have now asked for a full refund so that i can buy a Bosch washing machine. it’s a joke and a festivas!!!!! Don’t buy LG anymore they are crap. LG machine purchase price was $1,674.00 Thought it was a reliable product, no crap.

Description Machine is white (you can get black) with shiny silver and black accents with standard dimensions of H850mm x W600mm x D620mm (door closed). It may require two to get it into position as it weighs around 70Kg. If you mate it with an LG Dryer there is a “stacking” kit to allow you to mount the dryer on top of the washer. First thing I noticed when installing this machine was there was only a cold water inlet as opposed to our previous machine which had both hot and cold water inlet pipes. As the machine is able to reach a washing temperatures of 95°C it clearly heats its own water as required. Despite this, it is still awarded a five star energy rating along with a four and a half star water rating.

Features This machine features twelve preset programs (see photo below) along with a tub clean cycle selected by a rotary dial on the front. Additionally there is a Download Cycle which allows you to select from a range of 25 specialty cycles (see sample of range in the photo below). These include such things as school uniform, jeans, lingerie etc but in order to do this, you will need to connect the machine to your home WiFi and install the LG app on your smart phone. It should be noted that while the washer is marked as a 10kg washer this is a little misleading as it only applies to the the Cotton and Cotton Eco cycles (which will take over two hours to run depending on load). All other cycles are around 5Kg capacity or less with much shorter wash times. Having said that, we haven’t experienced any problems loading beyond those amounts and the clothes (appear to) come out equally clean. While some of the cycles are a set time wash, others require the machine to spend about thirty seconds calculating the actual load before setting a completion time. You can set a delayed start on the washer but you must tell it when you want the wash to end rather than when you want it to start. The machine will then calculate the start time itself which I find is a better arrangement for doing delayed starts. On the right of the dial is a control panel allowing you to override presets for wash temperature and spin RPM. Additionally there is a digital readout showing what stage of the washing cycle is currently being undertaken along with number of minutes to completion. On the left of the dial is the “ezDispense” drawer for dispensing liquid washing detergent. If you use powdered detergent you’ll need to bypass the ezDispense drawer and add your powder manually as you normally would for each load. If, however, you are using liquid detergent, there are two “bulk” storage compartments which allow detergent to be dispensed by the machine as it determines for each load. You have the opportunity to set dispense amounts to your own personal liking. The two compartments can be for two different types of detergents or a detergent and a fabric softener or they can be linked together to give double storage capacity for one detergent. Depending on your use and your settings you may get up to a month between having to refill the detergent drawer.

Functionality The washer has accompanying electronic chimes (which can be turned off) to indicate starting and completing cycles. We have found it to be relatively quiet in operation (except when spinning at high speeds) where it does vibrate a little (despite particular care to make sure the legs where correctly set during installation), however, it is not excessively so. All washing cycles we have used have washed our clothes to the standard we expect and nothing we have washed has (thus far) come out damaged in any way. We usually use the “TurboClean 39 (minute)” wash which always works well for us. Admittedly, we are both retired so are not trying to wash heavily soiled work clothes which would probably require a longer wash. Delicate cycle works well with reduced washing time and spinning speed. In short, we haven't been able to fault it. If you decide to hook this washer into WiFi, the LG phone app gives extra functionality (see photos below). You can use the app to remotely start and pause the machine, download additional cycles, view current cycle details including time to run, where in the washing cycle it is, time before requiring a tub clean etc. The app will also alert you both audibly and with a visual notification when the cycle has been completed. This is all available when away from home too. In use, we have found the app a little buggy and it sometimes froze the time remaining requiring the app to be force closed and re-opened to get an accurate estimation of time to run. This did, however, markedly improve after a recent update so hopefully LG will come up with a fix to completely solve this in the future. One thing we did not like with the app is LG using it to advertise products and other promotions without having any means to turn this off.

Overall, we have been very pleased with this purchase. The supplied instruction manual is clearly set out and easy to follow. The machine itself has a 2 year warranty along with a 10 year warranty on the motor (not labour). The washer meets all our requirements and hopefully it will prove just as reliable as our previous washer.

Noisy machine compared to Bosch series 8 – It washers the clothes like most machines but the noise is ridiculous especially when spinning. The machine is level on a concrete floor and the outside case doesn't move at all but the noise from the inside is terrible and sounds like a machine gun going off inside the machine. Had the machine for 3 days and should of bought the bosch series 8 10kg. You get what you pay for is true in most cases.

complex "For Me" Cant add pre wash powder to a cycle no dispenser, have to use liquid only in auto dispense etc The bigger loads are 2 or 3 hour washes only small / 4kg loads for all the other cycles, I have a household of 8 so purchased the 10kg for this reason Also you cant just do a rinse and spin or just a spin without downloading the app If your going to purchase please do research as for a 10kg for big family is useless with the long cycles up to 9 hours to do 3 loads of wash
