Unfortunate disappointment – Loved the classes and some trainers at browns plains , good price. Creche is basic and wants perfect children so they don't need to do anything. Left after being told by owner to leave my child at home after one temper tantrum, no second chance at all. Went for 6 months until this happened. Such a shame, would join again if he ever leaves and I dont need a creche.

Lifestyle Springwood- Deceptive Pricing – I received an offer for $100 off their 12 month membership by text, the 12 month membership price on their website was $499. They tried to charge me $449 stating that their price had gone up to $549, but the website had not been changed. Weeks later their website still says $499. Emailed the club but no response.

Terrible service – New to the area we stopped in to look at joining, after a quick tour we thought we would give it a go. as we were not certain if we would settle in we asked if we could have a week by week membership, we were advised that as long as we had signed up for initial 4 weeks then we could cancel at any time without being locked in. Needless to say we… Read more

went once and decided it was not for us, no particular reason other than it didn't suit us. Wanting to cancel after our initial 4 weeks we went online to submitted a 'contact us' enquiry to find out procedure to cancel,,, after 3 weeks with no response we made a call yesterday to be told by the manager (the owners daughter) that we need to give 30 days notice - which we responded that this is not the information given to us at the time of joining. refusing to listen or I popped in to dispute the information. The manager just kept trying to pass me the contract paperwork infront of me and saying that I signed the contract, so its my issue, even though I was trying to explain that we had asked the particular question of not being locked in and not once did the consultant tell us about the 30 day notice period, otherwise we would not have signed up. I saw the consultant had not actually signed my paper work which means they apparently did not know who signed me up. As I was late for another appointment I left with expecting a call from the owner. This call did come through fairly quickly when I received the same attitude of his daughter,,, no interest in listening to me, just relying on the old 'you signed the contract so tough' ... I dont care about the cost of the 30 days notice, its purely principle of a business to at least acknowledge that maybe they got it wrong... I know my facts,,, I am appalled by the blatant disregard of hearing me and no intention to even follow up with the consultant that signed us up. Poor handling of this situation, I would never recommend anyone to deal with this club, owner and management. I know I am one person in a membership pool of a couple hundred possible thousand, but its wrong how gyms bleed as much money out of people. I've worked for Jetts and they are 100% more approachable and flexible with their members.

Fantastic gym in Springwood – The gym in Springwood really does tick all of the boxes. Great, friendly team who are very knowledgeable and are excited to help you out with your goals. Great atmosphere, and spacious. Great pricing - I have 12 month and 24/7 access for a lot cheaper than most other gyms. Great classes, the latest exercise equipment and in a great location.

Not trustworthy – I joined this gym because it had really good reviews on Google. I now know why -they have all their negative reviews deleted. This is incredibly dishonest. How can anyone make a fully informed decision to join with this type of nonsense going on? This gym is not upfront with new members. They make it sound so easy to cancel your membership but… Read more

its not.

They also use a dodgy debit company - Debit Success, to harass members into paying fake outstanding fees.

They behave so unprofessionally and dishonestly.

Be aware.

This gym breaches the Fair Trading Code of Practice for the fitness industry – I had to leave a review on this website because this gym always seems to get its negative reviews removed from Google. I joined Lifestyle Health Club at Redbank Plains. This gym breaches the Fair Trading Code of Practice for the fitness industry. 1. They do not provide members with a copy of the rules and regulations of the gym. But they… Read more

constantly penalise their members when they supposedly break the rules with $50 fines. 2. They do not give members a signed copy of their membership contract. 3. They fail to inform members if their ongoing agreement is for an initial 6 or 12 month term - this needs to be included in the contract. 4. They fail to provide 2 months notice of when the membership is about to end and no information regarding how to cancel a membership. 5. They wont allow members to cancel in writing. This is legally allowed. They instead ignore your written notice, continue to debit your account beyond 2 debits and then refer you to a third party called Debit Success. You are then subjected to harassment via numerous emails, phone calls and text messages on a daily basis and threats of debt collectors. I fear that if someone who is fragile or suffers from mental health issues is subjected to this kind of harassment it could be very detrimental to them because the harassment is relentless and intrusive. 6. They make misleading claims about how easy it is to cancel. When I joined I wanted to make sure it was easy to cancel. I was told I just had to tell the gym and give enough notice for 2 last debits to occur.

I cancelled my membership in early August and 2 months later I am being harassed. I cancelled because the gym is dirty. Dead cockroaches and mouse poo were in the female part of the gym. Also, many female members do not use towels on equipment which is great if you like putting your clean towel on a puddle of someone elses sweat. You are also meant to wipe down equipment where you cant use your towel. Most members do not do this.

There is limited equipment in the female only section. Two leg machines is insufficient. Many times I was unable to finish my workout because other members would sit on the equipment talking or texting on their phones. They were completely oblivious to other members.

Any complaints to staff fall on deaf ears.

The aircon is not cool enough and the fans attached to the walls do not oscillate.

The carpark is not well lit. As a female I felt unsafe leaving this gym at night and always had my phone ready to dial the police. To make matters worse there is a vacant block of land next to the gym. The gym should provide a well lit and safe carpark for its members.

You are given very few ideas to use the equipment. I was given 9 things to do on the equipment. This is so you will pay for a personal trainer who are more expensive than other gyms in the area.

I heard other members being charged for rule violations they had no idea about. They too were also not given copies of their contracts so this makes it easy for staff to fine members $50 for a rule violation they didnt even know exited.

I do not recommend joining this gym.

Cheap for a reason – Cheap memberships because service is poor, particularly the crèche. Under staffed and single staff member in the crèche sits on her phone and is rude to members. Owner is ignorant to what is going on in his own gym and when given the feedback makes up lies to cover for himself. Definitely don't try this gym!

No complaints – These guys offer great services, instructors and facilities. If you don't think so, try a competitor. They are great people and I will always rate them highly. I have worked as an instructor for these guys for many years and have also been a member at their gyms and can honestly say that I have never been able to fault them. Don't hesitate in… Read more

joining one of these gyms. They cannot be beat on price either - they are by far the best value for money anywhere around. They've been around for a long time too - a very long time.

Great Gym – The gym is really cheap and have amazing deals all throughout the year. The staff are friendly and will always correct someone if their stance could possibly hurt them. Everyone has a great attitude and the rules are reasonable and safe.

Good – I was a member of this gym for a year i liked it. The classes were great and the trainers were nice. I am now a member of the womens only one they opened up and I love it. Trainers are really nice. (they do tend to change trainers a lot and I think they could offer a little more support) Other then that it is a very comfortable place to go and… Read more
