Mamee Chicken Noodle Snack

Rarely fresh – I am a big fan of these but there is often a pack or 2 that are stale. I just had to throw out every 8 pk i just bought as every single packet was stale. No splits or holes in the wrappers, just off noodles. Their quality control is hideous. Best Before is 4 Oct 2024 Show details
Bland – There is no flavouring at all. If you want to feel like you're eating cardboard then get some of these! Seriously horrible. Waste of money. There's much better snacks out there Show details
Flavourless garbage – Nasty, tasteless chemical concoction marketed at kids. Shameful company. They say I need thirty words to describe this slop food. I think what I have said will do just nicely. Show details
Dissapointment – Flavour packet has a strong odour of faeces. We opened another packet to find the same. After eating some of the noodles with the flavour and realising I began vomiting. Show details
Not as tasty as they used to be – They used to have a seasoning packet inside. They have hardly any taste now. I don’t think that I will buy then again. Please put the seasoning packet back inside. Show details
Bland as paper – Like most of the commenters, I tried to capture a piece of nostalgia in this iconic childhood snack...instead I received a mouthful of blandness and unflavoured regret. This new recipe is definitely adapted from a recipe for drywall. Show details
crap mamee noodles – I agree the new recipe is crap but I found a substitute that ill be buying from now on, they are called WAI WAI tom yum shrimp flavour, they have gold on the packaging and are only 65 cent full price, they turn out cheaper and taste exactly like the old school mamee noodles. My favourite noodles since my childhood are now terrible!! – Used to be the best so crunchy and flavorful now they are disgusting and I won't buy again unless they change them back. Used to always have a heap in my pantry it's such a shame
I want my money back – These used to be a great children’s snack and now they wouldn’t even eat the bland crap. Why did they change them Show details
Went from awesome to crap! Used to be the BEST... now just bland, home brand dry noodles kick it’s butt now – Bland, disappointing, will no longer be purchasing. It’s a shame because they were once great Show details
Not even worth 1 star – Went from the best snack to worst, what's the point of changing the recipe if it results in something this bad? It's way cheaper to just buy the coles, woolies or no name brand packs, the noodle legit taste exactly the same to these current mamee ones and it actually comes with good flavouring. Coles actually does a similar type of 'snack noodle'… Read more
in the chip section and while they aren't as good as the mamee original they are way better than this. Sad this company has lost it's intergrity over wanting to stock their products in canteens, good luck trying to sell these to any kids.
Why did they change the perfect noodle?! – So disappointed that they are no longer the delicious crunchy flavoursome noodle snack they used to be. They now taste just like 2 min noodles but cost twice as much. Bland, boring and just plain awful. Please bring back the original recipe. Show details
Recipe has been changed and it's disgusting – Wow what a disappointment..just finished a pack and it tasted bland. I will never buy these again unless they change the recipe back to the original. Why companies change a good thing is beyond me. Show details

Why Change a GREAT thing? – I just tried these after years! These were one of my favourite childhood snacks and now they are awful they are not as crunchy as they used to be, the actual Noodle flavour is no longer and the seasoning tastes like pepper :( so disappointed nothing like I remember them to be! PLEASE CHANGE THEM BACK Show details
Why are they labelled 'chicken'? – No idea why these are labelled as chicken flavour. The sache is pretty much pepper, maybe sell them as 'wheat flavour and pepper noodles'? Show details
It's okay but it is great for snacks I didn't really like it much – I didn't really like it much but sometimes it is great for snacks Show details
Buying no more – I understand health rating but one mouthful and i felt like i was eating cardboard. Absolutely zero taste. Not buying it again. Didnt they test this before sending them out? Its extremely unpalatable. Dissapointed Show details
Changed – Was a fan of these since I was a kid then bought 2 packets a few weeks back and they have completely changed. They have no flavour any more taste like 2min noodles. Have thrown both packs away might have got them the health star rating but that doesn't mean people will keep buying it. Throwing the rest in the trash. Disappointing. Show details
What happened to the seasoning!?!? – Used to love these. Have been enjoying for 20 years. Just bought a packet last week and there is in flavoring at all!!!! Thought it may have just been the first packet, but no every one. They are so plain you cannot eat them on their own, just taste like plain packet noodles :-( Show details
Flavour change – I bought some yesterday and they have recently changed ingredients / recipe and now they taste just like normal 2 minute noodles, so plain and dry very disappointing that another childhood snack is ruined Show details
It used to have flavour, now it doesn’t. What happened? – I have no idea why they changed the ingredients. They used to have a great taste, now they have no taste at all. What happened to this once great snack? Show details

Love it but so bad for you lol – I love this snack since I was a child. Crunchy plenty of flavour and so bad for you! lol Not sure why they are at the health isle at the supermarkets
Awkward packaging, but still great on the inside – I love this.. Aims great at me and the kids. It goes well with their lunchbox' snacks, rather *than Chazoos aka a knock-off version of food products i.e. "Burger Hoops" -- Burger Rings , "Noodle Snak" (oh ffs learn sentence structure, 'garbage disposal'.) -- Monster Noodle Snack", you know, very typical. Just that the packaging just throttles at… Read more
then whilst they bite, gnash and scrape the top in order to open it. Even i had to spend about $6 on scissors that are not to hard and sharp for the kids to open them...
Definitely would give it a five-star, but.. No. I just want the packaging like other products (not chazoos)
I recommend this more than Chazoos, believe me.
Worst packaging – I absolutely love the noodles but hate!!! The packaging. So I threw all the packets in the bin. Most irritating packaging of my life. Not even my partner who has won boxing competitions and has muscles to the moon couldn't open it without nearly breaking his nose. Change the packaging and I'll give it a 5 star.
Yum – Are they healthier than eating some kale? No. Are they healthier than eating a packet of Cheezels? Yes. Sure they're not a health food and I wouldn't feed them to my kids everyday, but they're good for an occasional snack in the lunchbox and they're comparatively better than some of the other snacks your kids will hound you for and at least you can make sure the seasoning packets go straight into the bin.
More junk food aimed at kids – Come on people, these are classic empty calories. 22% fat, 63% carbs, high salt and sugar, MSG. They have as much resemblance to real food as flavoured cardboard. In other words they contain everything that western society already gets way to much of and next to nothing of what we need to teach our kids to eat more of. At least they don't come with another action figure It's just another factory food kid fattener for the lazy.
This junk has just given my daughter a headache and belly ache. It's MSG on a stick
Me, want to eat Mamee! – I may no longer be a kid but I still eat Mamee Chicken Noodle Snack. It is essentially a packet of uncooked instant noodles, much like Ramen mee. The only difference between the two is that Mamee monster snack is designed to be eaten uncooked, creating a crunchy sensation. It is also much tastier!
Fantastic! – I agree that these are better than chips or chocolates, I used too love mamee noodles as a child, and they're still fantastic and taste the same as they used too. I recommend this as a lunch box snack for lunch boxes! its cheap, easily available from Coles and taste fantastic while being healthier than some of the other snacks around. I also like that the flavour packet is optional, they taste great even without it. taste and the cost
My Kids love them! – These are so popular with my kids. I get them from either Coles or WW every week. It's nice to know that they can have this snack and that it is healtier for them then chips and bars. I also noticed they have stopped using palm oil and now use corn - so its good for the orangatans as well! great taste. kids love them, healthy, cheap
