Our local community hall bought and had installed 4 large Martec ceiling fans approximately 6 months ago. One of these fans failed within 3 months. They had hardly been used up to that point. Martec agreed to supply another but refused to provide the hire of the scissor lift for the removal of the failed unit and installation of the replacement.… Read more
This meant that our hall ( a registered charity) had to pay in excess of $1600 for the removal of the failed unit and the installation of the new one due to their low standard of customer service and quality of their product.
Bought a heat, light fan unit. Looks great. However….Broke twice during warranty: widget that should turn the fan on automatically when the light is too hot melts. Impossible to replace. Replaced heat lamp 4 times. Martec uses their own special size (214mm) which costs 3-4 times more than other sizes (185mm or 235mm). Buy old style heat lamps, uglier but cheaper and longer lasting.
Useless do not buy this product – Exact same problems as everyone else, these seem a danger more than anything! They DONOT extract air/moisture from the bathroom and I have had two explode after about 6 months. You can’t even change the bulbs because the fittings themselves melt and rust/interact with the moisture. Should not be able to even sell this product absolute waste of… Read more
time and money. Warranty isn’t worth the paper it’s printed on. Mind you I wouldn’t want a third dodgey unit anyway my house will end up burning down! Don’t buy from this company!
Great customer service from Martec – We bought a number of Martec fans in January 2021 for a new house build which took well over two years to complete. Late last year the retaining clip on an exhaust fan/light failed, causing the unit to hang down from the ceiling. There was no way to repair the clip as it had split in half, and we were concerned the other clip would fail also as… Read more
it was holding the entire weight of the unit. I contacted Martec customer service in Sydney and asked for a couple of replacement clips as we had four other similar fans in the house, and I didn't want to get caught out again if another one failed. We were technically outside the two year warranty period from date of purchase, although the fan's actual installation was within two years. Within a week I received free of charge six new retaining clips, completed the repair and stored the remaining clips away if something should happen to another fan. This was excellent, prompt customer service with no hesitation. In addition to the exhaust fans we have three large eight foot remote control ceiling fans in various rooms of the house which are totally brilliant - quiet, efficient and excellent quality.
4 out of 4 fans purchased faulty! – I just wanted to express concern that 4 out of the 4 Martec ceiling fans with light we bought, 4 are faulty, lights do not work, I just don’t know How products pass quality inspections etc? So after paying electrician to have installed , I am left out of pocket of installation and purchase of product and have no lights in any of bedrooms while I wait weeks for repair! Really disappointed
Poor Warranty Service – Purchased a fan/light from Temple and Webster. I Contacted T&W over month ago regarding the bathroom light /fan fault (under warranty), the only half decent response from them was when I posted a poor review, after another week they informed me the warranty issue was with the supplier, so Id have to take it up with them (Martec). Martec sent me… Read more
the warranty information request below, this was after I have sent T&W photographs, Purchase proof and e-mail as per their Warranty process. If your shopping online Id highly recommend purchasing items from larger companies with stores such as Bunnings, Beacon Lighting, Reece & Ikea, my experience in relation to warranty claims with all of these companies have been very satisfactory (unlike this experience). My replay also below sent a week ag without response.
E Mial from Martec Temple and webster have reached out regarding an issue you are having with a (MXFLFS25W) light . The warranty on this unit lies with Martec as we are the manufacturer, and this product comes with a manufacturer's warranty .
If you wish to lodge a warranty claim, please fill in the attached and follow the below instructions .
To lodge a warranty application for your Martec product, please provide copies of the following documents:
1. Copy of the Installation Receipt OR Tax Invoice OR Certificate Of Compliance for the installation of the Martec product from the installing electrician. A quote on its own is not adequate as it does not confirm the work carried out. If one of these installation documents cannot be provided, we will only accept a typed and signed letter on a business letterhead from the installing electrician stating he/she installed the Martec product at your address along with a scanned copy of the electrician’s license. Please note that an email is not a sufficient installation document.
2. Copy of the Purchase Receipt/store Tax Invoice for the Martec ___, and any additional accessories to suit (e.g. remote control kit).
3. Copy of the completed warranty form, signed and dated. I have attached a copy for your reference.
You can return copies of the requested documents via email (by replying to this email),. As soon as we receive all three of the warranty documents required, we will be able to proceed with your warranty application.
If you have any questions or queries, please do not hesitate to contact our team.
Kind regards, Customer Service
My Response to their warranty information request (Without reply). Hi, I presume as your product is faulty you will be reimbursing me for the time, I need to spend collating the information you require, and time spent up to this stage dealing with Temple and Webster warranty claim department. Are you also covering g the cost for the electrician to remove and replace the fitting, & any freight charges. Regards Michael.
Small Martec White Flow Square Exhaust Fan With 12W Tri-Colour LED Light > RUBBISH – Do not buy these exhaust fans they are complete rubbish, they are not rated for bathroom use so useless as the led light is not water protected and they corrode in a few months. Had one replaced under warranty but it died after 6 months. There blurb says good for bathrooms with showers Mmm no way a IPX2 rating is not even moisture proof, at $169 each very expensive rubbish. Look elsewhere honestly these are junk.
Rubbish products, stay away – I wish I'd checked for reviews on martec products. These Martec flow exhaust fans are poorly engineered, poorly built and if you are looking for support or warranty forget about it. They blamed install for the issue with the fan, even after having original electrician check it, and also an independent electrician(at my cost) who both said install… Read more
was completed to martec install procedure. Many photos and emails sent.
They don't expell moisture in cold weather. Moisture flooded the light section causing it to fail and moisture puddles on the floor. It was a safety hazard so removed the fan completely.
Just a crap product
Martec Spotlight – Very difficult to instal. Creative ideas might seem good on paper but appalling in practice. Spent over an hour. Wiring installed okay but do you think I can get the rails anywhere near the ceiling? Grub nuts are useless. It’s coming down and I’m off to buy a decent one.
Poor quality Poor warranty – Bought two Martec Linear bathroom ceiling heater/fans. Both blew halogen globe within six months. Not covered on warranty Beware . Martec didn't want to know. Rated one star only because review wouldn't accept 0
Buyer beware – We bought a several Martec Contour 2 3-in-1 Exhaust Fans for our bathrooms while renovating our home. One simply stopped working after seven months. Martec is refusing to fix it under the warranty. Very disappointing customer service.
