Sick of fixing – Wouldn't buy again had for two years from new $5000 fuel shut of switch died , variable speed pulley bearing destroyed, battery died won't charge, on hot days motor misfires put 6" electric fan fixed problem, steering getting progressively sloppy,What really annoyed me is a mate spent $1000 on a mower from gumtree same time as me and has spent zero $$$ or problems. Ok for a home owner on small property but not for a lawn mowing business or larger areas – I have owned this machine for 2 years (67 hrs) , within the 1st month the cutting drive belt broke. Then as I started to use it more I got punctures constantly in the back tyres, 3 in total within 2 months. It went for its 50 hour service not so long ago and the front steering arms where out of wack which needed re alignment, deck was uneven… Read more
so that too needed re adjusting and all the other stuff that is needed for a basic service at 50 hrs. I have a gardening business and only mow 5 jobs I use the ride on on and this machine is not suitable for it. I will be selling this machine soon and upgrading to a zero turn mower, unsure on what brand yet.

Plagued by mechanical problems – Like many other people I have had the exact same problems with my mower -the odd steering issue, the drive belt failures, deck engagement wire breaking and the tires coming off at inopportune times. I know the last one sounds like a joke, but this just recently happened to me for the third time, each time a different wheel and each time I fixed it… Read more
by converting them with innertubes. So, to be blunt - these mowers are lemons except for the only part that they didn't make - the briggs and stratton engine. Made in the USA, works like a champ. The lesson I learned here is to never buy anything even remotely expensive from Bunnings as their purchasers don't seem to mind foisting garbage on their customers.

Unreliable and returned for refund – When it is working, it is an "OK" product, however, like other reviews, I've had similar problems and gave up on it. I brought mine BNIB from Bunnings (see other review for THAT bunfight!) and they got it back with less than 100hour on it around a year later for a full refund. The deck engagement cable failed and had to be repaired, the front… Read more
left tyre continually came off the rim no matter how much air you had in it, and the left belt guard snapped off due to metal fatigue and meant you had to physically hold the belt in place while you engaged it, running the risk of either tipping it on its' side, or catching your fingers in the pulley! That was the final straw...
One other pecularity I noticed after having it for 5 hours was it would turn right much sharper than it would turn left, whether due to a defect, or steering geometry I'm not sure, but it was faster to make a 270* right turn than a 3-point left turn, when mowing.
In the end, Bunnings took it back (without a quibble!) for a full refund and I promptly replace it with a Cub Cadet zero turn that's been absolutely faultless and literally runs rings around the Masport.
Very disappointed - poor reliability - mechanical issues – I bought a Masport 4200 back in April 2020 and it has been back to be repaired three times. The first time was after about 10 hours use when the blade deck engagement cable broke. It was repaired but there was no explanation why this would occur. The second time it was repaired it was the same thing - broken cable. This time when it was repaired… Read more
they said they had also replaced the drive belt. Why this was done I don't know. We had never had a problem with the belt. Anyway I took it home and the belt started coming off continuously - whenever I stopped the mower the belt would come off and I would have to put it back on. Then the metal belt guard fell off and got crunched by the blades (I presume it hadn't been tightened properly when the belt was replaced}. The mower has now been out of action over a month. They don't seem to be able to get a new belt guard. I have several acres to mow so it is a real nuisance. The grass is growing so fast at the moment I have had to use the push mower which makes a long, tiring job of it. I don't know if I'm just unlucky - when the mower is going it does a good job - trouble is it's not going much of the time.
Awesome Cut + Value For Money! – I purchased this ride on mower for $3,899 from Bunnings Warehouse. I payed $175 delivery for the product as it was two big to fit into my car. It came with the steering wheel and seat detached - manual was clear on how to assemble these parts. The next day we gave it a try and it easily cut 1m tall grass!! We live on a small farm and it only took… Read more
a couple of hours to clear 1 1/2 acres of 1m tall grass with its 42inch cutting deck. it has a impressively powerful 17.5 hp Briggs and Stratton engine! The grass left is amazingly cut. it is also fuel efficient it only took 1 1/2 tanks of petrol to complete 1 1/2 acres. It even has a cup holder so i could hold a drink while mowing. its reverse mowing ability was a life saver to get into tight areas. It also is simple to drive my son could drive it. It also has key-start which is awesome! if you want a simple to drive, powerful ride on mower......this is the mower for you!!
