Maxkon 1.45L Electronic Ice Cream, Frozen Yogurt, Gelato and Sorbet Maker

So exited to make my own ice cream – Success :) I made the vanilla ice-cream and only had to churn it for less than 15 min. After reading all the reviews about keeping the mixture cold as possible before putting it into the machine it was very user friendly. I followed the custard based vanilla ice-cream and it's delicious (just didn't make enough in my opinion). It is nice to know what is exactly in my food. I am really looking forward to my next experiment.

Not so great as the reviews – You need to make your mix in advance and get it really cold (almost frozen) before you add to the bowl or the mixture will absorb the cold and not freeze before the bowl is no longer cold enough to work. It also doesnt aerate the mixture so your better to put it into the freezer.... then into a blender..... then into the icecream maker... oh its all getting to hard.... wheres the car keys?
It really works! – I was sceptical about this ice cream maker actually working. I ordered it off ebay, got it within days. Followed instructions (just freeze the inner bowl a day beforehand) then when you are ready to use it, just google a recipe. You just have to let the machine do it's thing and it will kind of switch off when the ice cream is made (as I kept checking to see if it was working and interrupted the process). It does work and will work better if just left alone (the ice cream starts to form in about 15-30 mins). Also if you heat the milk with the eggs on the stove, make sure you strain in order to remove the curdled bits. And don't overfill the inner bowl as the liquid expands when it is turning into ice cream and there may be strain on the paddle. * I think the secret is in adding 1/2 tsp gelatine when on stove, and also pre-whipping the mixture in blender or egg beaters before you put in ice-cream maker, as this aerates it a bit (for a fluffier texture). Glad to enjoy some tasty sugar-free ice cream now!
Make My Own Ice Cream Easily! – I can say this machine is “simple and easy” to use as once I perused the booklet that comes with the machine, I was ready to trial my first ice cream maker recipe. More details and my recipe, you can find here: [link removed]
