The black surface of my Microstoven baking dish is coming off. Is it a toxic material? I bake veggies in it regularly.

Is there anything else like the microstoven? I absolutely love my little mini microstoven, suitable for microwave, stove, and oven. I'm very sad it's been discontinued. I was going to buy a larger size.

Can these pots be oven heated to 450 degrees ?

I have to preheat pot to 450 to make a bread recipe.

Never tried. I only use on stove top (non induction), great for rice pudding - and for roasting chicken at around 250 celsius in oven.

The lid knob of my Microstoven has broken off after only a few uses making the whole item unusable. Is there a glue that is heat resistant that can be used to stick it back on?

Can they be used on induction stovetops?

Helen Peake
Helen Peake

Sadly, no. Induction friendly cookware must be made of iron ..... so magnetic stainless steel, black steel, and cast iron all work well. Cast aluminium cookware that has a high tech magnetic steel coating can be used but the Microstoven is made of a very tough, resilient ceramic that does not contain enough iron to heat on an induction cooktop.

Where in Melbourne do you buy it? And how much?

I bought it at Myers and I think it was around $60, I think they're cheaper now.

How to care for the non stick surface?

Sugarbundi

I wash it with dishwashing liquid, let it dry or dry it with kitchen cloth or paper towel. Then... I wipe a tiny bit of coconut oil into it. I guess it's working, as many years of use later the non stick stays non stick and black, by the way.
